As I continue to process this crazy upside-down world we currently live in...the key thing that comes to mind is how this virus has effected literally everyone...the wide diversity that makes up our country. The few times I have been out walking or going to a store, we are all in the same headspace...being careful about our spacing, being clean...and a sense of how fragile we all are. It reminded me of this piece I made after the 2016 election. The USA was totally divided and so much hate was being thrown around. I created this piece to express how our cities, suburbs, country-sides, costal areas, midlands, and mountains can be expressed together to show what defines America and how we are still whole – and to create a visual wish we could get along better. Now, it has a new meaning to me...that even though we are distanced apart, we can stand together, from coast to coast to make it through...and hopefully come out stronger for it.
