The way modern media makes strong independent female characters but forbids them to fall in love in any way because oh “strong independent women don’t need a man” is absolute bs and im sick of it
Chat, being a romantic or lovesick over a guy DOES NOT make them weak, nor suddenly turn them into this “dependent damsel” who needs her Prince Charming or whatever
Like yes, she is perfectly capable of saving herself in the midst of danger, but oh how she dreams to fall and be caught safely in his strong arms, to be sheltered is she’s vulnerable, or to have a hand reaching out to her to lift her up off the ground
Yes, she knows her worth and nothing might persuade her otherwise, but oh how she longs to hear his voice utter to her words of encouragement and empowerment, reminding her of her worth, or even just simple things like saying how pretty she looks today
Yes, she can take care of herself just fine, but oh how she wishes to be looked after by him, to be princessed by him on a daily basis
She can still be a boss babe, still kickass and be a strong independent individual, WHILST AT THE SAME TIME yearn for these romantic fantasies also. I don’t see why this can’t be possible
And another thing: How is it that the love she would feel for him, a love that is so strong she would be willing to cross multiple boundaries, rebel against high powers and authorities, walk through hell and back, put her own life on the line…all for this one person who means the absolute everything to her..How is having a love like that consider her as weak?
Romance and love is not a weakness or a bad quality and I hate how it’s being perceived as if it is one these days
