fake dating au/trope!
omg yes!! i love that trope and i would definitely write it with any character - but the most fun, i think, would be leo valdez. He'll be playful and light about it, but he'd also treat you good that sometimes you have to remind yourself that you're only fake dating. He'll pull out chairs for you, open car doors, even have nicknames for you!! and maybe, somewhere along the way, you'll both fall in love with one another. And he won't be afraid to show it. No, he'd proclaim it as soon as he's sure - but you're still not, which creates a bit of a rift between the two of you. But give it a few moments, you'll be sure that you've fallen for him too because you miss his touch, you miss the way he put his arms around you, whisper things like "you look so beautiful tonight, mi Amor" even though it wasn't necessary. You also miss his smile and his contagious laughter and jokes. And it just made you sure that you've fallen for him too.

It was Christmas Eve and Leo forced you to attend this gathering with his friends and family as his fake date - someone he’d show for his friends and family. For the fun of it, you agreed, thinking it would be a harmless one. But unfortunately for you, your fake boyfriend panicked when asked about the seriousness of your relationship. Instead of answering, he proposed - in front of the fireplace, in the middle of the room where everyone can see.
“What the hell, Valdez?” You pulled the sheepish boy inside an empty room. “You know we’re not actually dating, so why did you propose to me in front of my family?” You crossed your arms in front of him, while he scratches the back of his neck with a sheepish smile.
“I’m sorry, I panicked.”
“Panic will not cut it, Valdez,” You told him, showing him your left hand. “Now you have to put a ring on my finger.”
“I know, I know,” he said. “First thing tomorrow, we’re heading out to buy you a ring.”
“You know you don’t have to,” you told him. “You can just say that we’re not really dating.”
Leo looked panicked for a second before answering. “No. We can’t back out - not when we’re this far.”
“You pushed us this far,” you pointed out.
“Yeah, I did,” Leo answered.
“So, does this mean you’ll pay for the wedding?” You grinned. “Ooh! We could have horse carriages drawn up, and we could do it on the beach -.”
“Please stop,” Leo grimaced, raising a hand.
“Oh no, I won’t.” If it was possible, your grin got bigger. You were so going to get a kick out of this moment.
“Uh, hey guys,” Percy knocked on the door before turning the knob. “What are you guys doing?”
“NO! DON’T COME IN! WE’RE UH-,” Leo spared you a panicked glance. “HAVING SEX.”
“Oh, okay,” Percy was probably widely grinning by now. "Enjoy then."
“You idiot!” You punched his arm. "We could have just let him enter or we could've gone out."
“Quick!” Leo jumped onto a bed. “Pretend, we’re doing it.”
Panicked, you made the first sound that came into your head, which was supposed to be a moan but turned out to sound like a machine creaking to life.
“I said moaning, not screaming!” Leo whisper-yelled, sitting up on the bed. “They’re not going to think we’re having fun, they’ll think I’m murdering you!”
“What do you want me to do?” You loudly whispered back. “You’re the one who suggested fake dating and then you went and proposed and now we’re supposed to be having sex. What the hell, Valdez?”
“I said I’m sorry,” Leo gave you another sheepish smile.
“Well,” you crossed your arms before smiling back. “You owe me. You’ll pay for the wedding, the ballgowns, the horse carriages. Ooh! And the hot air balloons we’ll be having.”
Leo groaned, falling back on top of the bed with a bounce.
