Personas are simple sketches of fictional characters used to exemplify a type of user–of a product, service or system. These are used in user-centered design and advertising to develop the most relevant products for a target user. Personas reflect the goals, needs, and behaviors of a user group. Developing these will help guide the design of my products and services.

I know a little bit about the user groups I am most interested in, but will need to dive deeper into their lives and behavioral patterns in order to develop accurate personas. In essence, a persona is an amalgamation of a multitude of data gathered from interviews, observation, secondary research and responses to surveys. A persona is more or less a symbolic representation, an archetype.
