or, when the slytherins didnât shut up when they had something to say.
some swearings but itâs only because theyâre mad
âbut heâs there! potterâs there! someone grab him!â
the entire place fell into silence right before pansy screamed these words. of course, potterâs friends were walking to stand in front of him, as if they were willing to sacrifice themselves for the boy.
the first thing blaise thought about was not the ridiculous amount people around him, but the fact he have never heard pansy saying something with such a frightened tone. out of all of them, she was always the one to get her shit together when necessary. this was scary, in a way, seeing his strongest friend like that. he didnât know what to do.
he numbly hears mcgonagall asking filch to lead the slytherins to the dungeons, and that was what made him understand he has to do something, otherwise theyâll be dead.
âdonât be so heroic,â he managed through clenched teeth, âare you really going to send your students to the dungeons because we actually care about our own ass rather than some gryffindorâs who has the talent of getting himself into trouble?â
âi would die for him,â ginny weasley called confidently. blaise couldnât stop himself from rolling his eyes.
âyou might,â blaise said, âbut would you sacrifice your brothers for the sacred harry potter?â
there was a silent for a few seconds. âyou only say that because youâre a slytherin,â cho chang finally said, âyou donât care for others, you care for yourself. thatâs what this house is all about!â
behind blaise, theo let out a laugh. âseriously? if you were as smart as you should be as a ravenclaw, chang, you would see slytherins actually care about others. you know, thatâs why some of us prefer to give the boy who lived to you-know-who to save everyone in here. donât blame this on the house.â
âiâm sorry for not being as pure as you want me to be,â pansy finally said, her sarcastic tone taking over, âiâm sorry i care about my friends. iâm sorry i would much rather see him dead than one of them -â she pointed at the rest of the slytherins - âand donât even get me started, bitch. if everyone in here would die because you-know-who has an army of skilled and powerful wizards and not students, you would regret not letting him in and saving everyone possible.â she stopped to breathe for a second, then continued. âis his life worth more than any otherâs?â
ron weasley snorted, âwith all due respect, parkinson, you and your death eater friend will not decide -â
âhow dare you,â daphne called, her body shaking, her wand in her hand, âhow dare you call him like that. how dare you judge him. how dare you, weasley, really. if you were him you would have never lasted so long, i promise. none of you would,â she said, looking at the people standing in front of her. âdonât make this personal, i am warning you.â
the hall fell into silence again when daphneâs words echoed in the hall. her angry eyes were fixed on ron weasley, who did not seem very comfortable with the idea.
âjust think of that,â draco finally said, quietly, but loud enough for everyone to hear, âwe would all be saved. so many people you care about will be saved. what are you going to do? act like a book hero and start a war? or are you going to be a bit more clever and save more people? because, you know, i thought this was important to the oh-so-good gryffindors.â
âwhat would you choose?â blaise asked, âletting everyone die or save them?â
