Old Tumblr Dashboard (Userstyle)!!

I created a Userstyle for the Chrome/Firefox Stylus Extension that reverts the new dashboard to the old look!

You need to have Stylus installed. So if you don't have it:

Install the Stylus Firefox Addon or the Manifest V2 Chrome Extension (You can install Chrome Extensions on Edge as well)

Once it's installed into Firefox/Chrome/Edge you can proceed with adding this style or any other.

To add the style (Stylus), follow the instructions:

Go to this link: https://userstyles.world/style/11286/old-tumblr-dashboard-userstyle (If it says 'style not found' then the Userstyle.world server is just down, try again in an hour)

Click on "install".

Style will open a tag with it and in the left side you'll have a button that says "install style", click there. (Step-by-step copied from the lovely dorothyoz39 who wrote this in a reply!) If you don't want the sticky header you can remove the labelled script at the top of the css below /* Sticky Header*/

For Manifest V3 only Chrome Or Stylus incompatible browsers:

For Chrome Manifest V3 install the Tampermonkey Extension

Then add the Tampermonkey Backup Script instead of the Stylus version

click the Manage button on Stylus and click the check for update button next to the userstyle, then click again to install!

Make sure to check the Userstyle and see if the version number matches the one below if you don't see any changes!

Options with "PostView" refer to viewing a post by clicking on its header or going to its own URL. If your theme has the same background on the dash and viewing a post just set these to the same colour as the other options! You can also fix the positioning of the Communities button and subnav from this menu as well - it should remember your settings when you update!

Tumblr Post Width & More (OTD+ Userstyle) Is now available!!

OTD+ is an add on for Old Tumblr dashboard that you can use to edit the Post Width, Content Positioning & More - It must be used with Old Tumblr Dashboard installed as well on the latest update! This style might be merged with OTD in the future.

Did you know? I once made a userstyle for itchio that re-arranges the dashboard into a grid layout! Nice if you have a lot of projects or prefer larger icons in general.

You know how Tumblr's "undocked" video player makes the right of your screen very crowded AND forces you to minimize any open chats before you can properly interact with it?

I've been working on a userstyle that:

Removes bloat from the sidebar

Centers your dashboard

Moves your chats to the left and reorganizes chat bubbles to fit more chats onscreen (requires centered dash)

Lets you choose exactly what to remove and customize your user experience to your preference!

It was way too hard to pull off, but what we have here is a userstyle code that prevents the Tumblr navigation header and other bullshit from following you while you scroll down on PC. I can’t tell you how to install these, but I can gamble that if you know how to install them, you’re probably going to do it and like the results. If this isn’t consistent across all browsers and the positive effects of this work get negated, then I assume we’re pretty screwed.

Dashboard Userstyle. I’ll Be There for You. // Download/Install.

This time round, I offer a very simple recolouring of the dashboard as to appease those who'd rather stray from the traditional blue. This was heavily inspired by the Black Dashboard once offered by Tumblr back in 2010 to raise awareness (and as a thank you for donating) for the BP Oil Spill. I also took the liberty of polishing it a bit, working with more padding and spacing as to create a more relaxed viewing. This is accompanied by a unified font size and line height, no matter what type of styling/editing people choose to put into their posts. The size of the font can be easily altered, please navigate below for instructions.

Installation

1. If you’re running Stylish, uninstall it. This extension has been compromised with trackers for months and is very dubious to have installed on your system. Instead, download and install the clean equivalent, Stylus, here for Chrome/Opera, and/or here for Firefox. You may need to restart your browser. 2. Navigate to the ‘Download/Install’ link noted above and click ‘Install Style’. 3. Done! Enjoy your new dashboard! No restart required.

Would you prefer a different font size?

Not a problem! Go to your Tumblr dashboard and navigate to Stylus’ extension in the top right of your browser, and click on the little pencil icon to the right of the dashboard Style, like so. In the window that just opened, you’ll see a large box of text/code on the right-hand side. At the very top of that code, you will see a line that references a font-size that is set at 12px. All you have to do is change that 12px to whatever your preference is. Then navigate to the left-hand side and hit ‘Save’, return to your dashboard and voila!

Fix For The New Update

I created a userstyle for stylus (don’t use stylish) as this should solve the issue with refreshes being an issue for a few seconds and works (albeit badly) on settings.

It’s by no means perfect and I appreciate feedback so I can iron out kinks but here it is.
