Exalted Secret Santa '25

I think I say every year that these come too quickly but, really, holy shit, the years go by too quickly. Fucking A.

I didn't get into any new games over the year, and both Seren and Ushara had continued on in their respective wild adventures, so like last year both are up for Secret-Santa-ing. Though I did shake things up with little bonus requests/challenges for whomever gets me--in case they want something fun to do~

ONWARD

Starting with my Infernal baby, Seren Ruinseeker!

Seren is a Scourge-caste Infernal, standing at about 6'2" and thin as a rod. Her limbs are weirdly stretchy because of the whole spider-demon thing, and she has two additional eyes on her forehead too from that. She’s got sickly pale skin no matter how much sun she gets, has very light and fluffy blonde hair, and all four eyes are violet-purple. She’s got two tattoos on her body; one a mundane tattoo of a frog in honor of her lunar and lover, Theron, and the other a “blessing” from Mara–yes, that Mara–as something of a…maternal gift? Their relationship is complicated.

Anyone who pays attention to my art/blog/exalted characters, you may note that last name change--because within the next few sessions of her campaign, Seren and Theron, her lunar mate, will finally tie the knot! Thus, she has traded her last name that was made-up by her anyway for his, and I'm sure absolutely nothing bad in the future will happen as we come up on an arc that involves fighting/killing the Fae from her backstory. Absolutely nothing. At all.

But impending doom aside, my optional challenge for Seren would be to draw her not in any of the outfits above, but in the traditional Great Forks wedding garb (click for link) that she will be married in!

I drew that up for her in *checks post* 2021 jesus fucking christ this has been planned for a while

If the outfit ain't interesting for you then do whatever you wish with her, of course. I will happily consume any art of her.

Now onto the next one, my Getimian, Ushara Nepali!

In her origin, Ushara was born in White Wall to her mortal mother with the help of Luranume, the god of auspicious luck. Ushara worked as Luranume's right hand (really, she worked for the Syndics of White Wall, but they're the same people, so...), spending half her life in Yu Shan among the gods and Sidereals, and half of it in Creation with her mortal family and friends. But in reality, Ushara doesn't exist; her family and friends don't know who she is, the disasters she averted and lives she improved never knew the better world she made of them, and worst of all the Sidereals she once knew are hunting her down...including the woman she loves.

Ushara's life has gotten no less complicated than it was at the start of the campaign, what with her not existing and all the drama and trauma that comes along with that, but at least she's gotten closer to the three and a half Solars (two dawns, a twilight, and an Abyssal) she's been stuck alongside, and has even picked up a Lynx kitten from the city of Grieve. Sure one of the Syndic gods may be dead, and she found the first person she was close with in her origin who didn't know who she was, and she is running away from a Wyld Hunt because nobody in this team has any fucking stealth, but...kitty!

That's the bonus challenge for her, by the way: please draw her with a Lynx kitten. They're a little larger than your average kitten because Grieve Lynxes™ and also very very fluffy. And baby. But again if you want to draw something else with her then go ahead!

Exalted Secret Santa 2024

Once again, time is an illusion, and it's December. BUT I have a new Exalted campaign ongoing, and thus a new character to put up for the secret Santa! I haven't even put art of her on this blog yet! GASP!

With that said...

...meet Ushara, the Winter Caste Getimian!

In her origin 'verse, Ushara was born in White Wall to her mortal mother with the help of Luranume, the god of auspicious luck. Ushara worked as Luranume's right hand (really, she worked for the Syndics of White Wall, but they're the same people, so...), spending half her life in Yu Shan among the gods, and half of it in Creation with her mortal family and friends.

And she was damn good at her job! She mediated conflicts, solved mysteries of both heaven and earth, and even made friends in a circle of Sidereals...though one of them, the Journey's caste named Aelle, was something more than a friend.

The two were so, so close to being in love that there was a betting pool among the Venus-aligned gods. But they had basically forever to figure their feelings out, so Ushara didn't want to rush. She was a careful sort, after all.

Or at least, in theory she was. Because Ushara doesn't actually exist. Her family and friends don't know who she is, and the disasters she averted and lives she improved never knew the better world she made of them. And worst of all, the Sidereals she once knew may soon be hunting her down...including the woman she loves.

Ushara is from an Exalted Essence game we started this year! And of course I had to go and try the Getimians. The inherit tragedy of coming into a timeline where you didn't exist, your friends and family not knowing you, and whatever good you did for your world having never happened? That's good shit. Real good shit. Feel free to lean into that while making art for her, we have yet to hit proper emotional breakdown yet in-campaign but it's coming. :D

Although she appears in ritual texts, she was not a mythic figure at Ugarit and our evidence regarding her character is therefore limited. oh gosh I love Oriel her design is so cool can you tell us more about her and her assassin girlfriend please??

HHHHH I’M SO HAPPY, THANK YOU SO MUCH!!

So her girlfriend belongs to my friend Sweet, her name is Ushara Apfelbaum, the youngest of quintuplets. A total 100% badass assassin who ran into a table the first time she saw Oriel, a fact that still makes me very happy.

They tease each other quite a bit but they are also very chill together occasionally, just cuddling up watching movies or stuff. However once they get to some heavy makeouts Oriel’s clothes usually don’t make it since Ushara will either rip them apart or cut them open (something Oriel finds extremely attractive and adores it every time Ushara does it).

They end up working together since Oriel’s vast knowledge about supernaturals (collected over the years from her vampire-clan) helps Ushara and her division quite a bit with hunting down supernatural beings.

Oriel can be a bit too hyper for Ushara sometimes since Ushara likes to take it easy in her free time, but they match very well regardless.
