HI YALL!! Okay, I have another request for an Ace x reader… so expect that later! It'll be my last request before I leave for Japan!! But this is a little angst, CheatingTanaka x Reader/ Ushijima x Reader TW, Cheating, cursing, sexual discussion, and a little OOC Tanaka, ENJOY!
It was roughly 7 pm on a Friday afternoon, and Y/N was sitting on the curb waiting for her wonderful boyfriend to come out of tutoring. Usually, she'd be home by now, waiting for her brother. But today was special! It marked their 6-month anniversary, and of course, to any high school kids, that's very important. "Ugh, I swear… I've offered to tutor him already…" Y/N huffed, gently playing in the dirt and fidgeting with the small gift she had gotten him. She mindlessly looked around the landscape… the streets and small town were nice, but sometimes she missed the seclusion of Shiratorizawa. "Sometime… hm, Wonder how they're doing," She couldn't help but think about her old team, being the manager for them was quite a task, but she loved it nonetheless.
"OI! Y/N!!" Her face instantly lit up at the sound of her older brother.
"YU! RYU!" She giggled before jumping up to greet them, practically jumping into Tanaka's arms, giggling as he caught her with ease.
"Oh, your big brother is right here too!" Noya groaned, watching Tanaka take all the attention, "Bastard," He whispered under his breath, watching as she was slowly dipped and a gentle kiss was placed on her lips.
"Not that I'm not happy to see ya, babe, but why are you waiting?" Tanaka asked, placing her on the ground, but keeping a firm hold on her waist. "And outside! ON YOUR OWN!" Now he was slightly panicking, being the overprotective boyfriend he was… he stared aggressively looking around the streets, a scowl on his face to scare anyone off.
"I'm fine," Y/N smiled softly at his reaction, gently cupping his face to regain his attention, "I wanted to get you a present!!" She giggled, holding up the small, slim, and delicately wrapped box.
"G-gift? Why???" He took the box eagerly, but was still very confused. Holding it close to his heart, he smiled down at her. "Thank you, no matter what it is… I'll cherish it!" His face was flushed, and he had his goofy smile.
"Open it!" Noya encouraged, wanting to see the hard work of his sister pay off. He knew his best friend was still mentally panicking, not used to girls liking him back, let alone getting him a gift. With cautious hands, Tanaka slid the lid off and gasped at the sight.
"A-A custom gold necklace… WITH MY NAME?!" He was stunned, never had anyone done something so… personal for him. "H-how!? This is like 200 dollars!" He held it gingerly in his hand, gently lifting it out to get a better look.
"I picked up some extra shifts!" She smiled brightly, quite satisfied with his response.
"Put it on me??" He eagerly knelt so she could reach without much stretch.
"AAAndd there!" She clasped it securely around his neck, smiling brightly. "I wanted to get you something, a repayment for the ring!" On her right hand, she had a promise ring, a beautiful silver ring with a (Your birth stone) in the center.
"THANK YOU SO MUCH!" He screamed, squeezing her into a death grip, holding her close and nuzzling her neck. "Truly Y/N… Thank you,"
"Anything for the best boyfriend ever!!"
That was a month ago… and it was a week ago when… Tanaka started acting strangely. Distant, almost uninterested. He came over less, didn't want her waiting for him anymore, and… even stopped eating lunch with her. Y/N had chalked it up to being volleyball season, so he was locked in on the sport… not another girl.
"Yu said it was this door?" She huffed, still unfamiliar with the school's layout… especially the volleyball side. Although she loved the sport, she told herself she'd never be a manager… unless it was for Shiratorizawa once more. With a soft hum, she opened the door to what she assumed was the gym, "Yu! I got your shoe-" There… standing dead center… was her boyfriend, Y/N boyfriend kissing the volleyball manager. Scratch that, making out was more like it. She could feel her chest tighten, the room shrink, and her anxiety spike… "Ryu?" Her voice was soft, barely catching his attention.
"Y-Y/N!?" His eyes went wide, not expecting her to show up. Not now, "W-wait! Let me explain!" She glanced a the manager and saw that her eyes were just as wide.
"You lied to me?" She gasped, a heartbroken look on her face, realizing that she was sitting here helping another man cheat, and not even knowing it. "HOW COULD YOU!?" She screamed, harshly pulling away from him with a sharp push off his chest. "You said you were single!" With a hasty movement, she went to Y/n's side, "I am so sorry, he said… He," She couldn't find the words to describe how violated and appalled she was.
"He… He never spoke of me?" Y/N was more heartbroken at the fact that… this girl had no idea who she was. "I-I've been his girlfriend for months now," The girl's eyes widened even more.
"N-No, Oh my… I-I'd never do this to another girl," Her face, her tone, Y/N believed her the entire time… and by the beauty mark on her face, she recognized exactly who this girl was,
"You're Kiyoko," The girl her boyfriend would fawn over… but always said its just admiration. "I… It's okay, I believe you," Kiyoko embraced her tightly, before running out the gym.
They sat in silence for a moment… "Y/N,"
"Just admiration, huh?" Y/N's voice was cold and snappy… she held no tears, just a disappointed look. 'Never will I let a man who is undeserving see me cry.' With her chest puffed out the slightest bit, she stared at Tanaka, who refused to look her in the eyes. "Why?" She waited a moment, and go no responce. "WHY RYU?"
"I DON'T KNOW!" He looked up, he was crying and his face was red, chest heaving, "I… I just wasn't satisfied, okay?" He ran a hand over his bald head, "I… I have no words," She only rolled her eyes, still holding back tears. With delicate hands, she removed the promise ring. It felt so heavy in her hand, as if it were a chain that confined her.
"Here," She held it out for him to take, wanting to respect it to an extent. He only glanced down at the ring, grimacing at the memories that were attached to it.
"I don't want it," He sounded disgusted, as if the very idea of her giving it was toxic.
"WELL NEITHER DO I!" She screamed, throwing it onto the floor, watching as the gem was knocked apart from the band, clinging across the floor, and falling under the bleachers. "You are no longer welcomed to my house, even if Yu invites you." Her words were venomous. With a swift turn, she left the gym, slamming the door closed, allowing it to echo through the area. Standing for a moment, she broke into soft sob… the emotions finally breaking through. 'No-No' To avoid any further embarrassment, she ran. Ran as fast as she could, no destination in mind.
"Y/N!?" Noya gasped, walking with the rest of the team, and seeing her run out of the gym and into the woods. "Y/N!! DAMN IT TANAKA," He ran to the gym, throwing the doors open, Only to find his best friend, sitting on the ground, collecting the piece of the broken ring. "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?"
"I-I dumped her." His voice was hesitant, unsure… "No, I cheated on her."
"You fucken idiot… Why? Huh," Noya was pissed, they had made plans, to be true brothers and have their kids be cosins and, "WHY? WHY BREAK HER HEART?"
"I WASN'T SATISFIED!" He stood, breathing heavily while facing the group… his face was tear stained and the regret was quite prominent on his face.
"well then," Noya's voice was steady and cold, "I hope you're satisfied." He turned and was out the door to follow his sister.
(Mini Time Skip)
Y/N sat at the top of the familiar hill, after running for god knows how long, she was panting, and now closer to Shiratorizawa than Karasuno. "Damn, stupid boy…" She huffed, eyes red from crying. "I wanna go home… my home, Shiratorizawa," She muttered, regretting ever taking Yu's advice and switching schools. She missed her dorm, her friends, and her team. She missed Wakatoshi, or Toshi, as the big man allowed her to call him. He was actually the one who required her for the manager job. 'Miss him the most…' And damn she had and still has the fatest crush on the man.
"It's beautiful tonight," His voice was deep and monotone.
"Toshi?" She gasped slightly, looking behind her to see the giant man just staring out at the sunset.
"How are you, Y/N?" He took long strides, sitting close to her, simply enjoying her presence.
"Pretty Shitty right now actrally," She chuckled, leaning into his shoulder instantly, "What about you Toshi?" She was expecting his typical nonchalant answer.
"Missing you," He looked at her, "Why are you doing shitty?"
"My boyfriend cheated on me-"
"I would never cheat on you." His tone was straightforward and dead serious.
"Pft, Toshi, come on," She giggled at his words. The faintest smile graced his lips, boy had he missed that sound.
"Come Home Y/N… Please?" He reached for her hand, cautious not to tousle her head too much, "The team misses you… I miss you." With the softest hand, he gently took her chin.
"Toshi," She whispered as his lips neared hers.
"Come back to me, Y/N."
"Always…"
That was weeks ago, and the school year was halfway done, and she was already making another mid-year transfer, right before the official start of volleyball. She had everything set, her dorm, her classes, and even people to help her move back, and the administration was welcoming her back with open arms, well, her test scores that is. It still hurt, but Toshi had made the sting… well, basically disappear. He was gentle with her heart, knowing what damage could have been done and trying to repair it.

She giggled at his text message that came across, adjusting her backpack.
-Okay! I'll see you soon!- Love
She always blushed at her contact name for him. He had already been by to pick up her stuff, all without her brother knowing… that's right, she was heading to Volleyball to say her official tell him and the team that she was leaving…. and her official goodbye. She hummed a tune, glancing at the parking lot… and seeing a Shiratorizawa white van. "H-Huh?" and all of a sudden… every Shiratorizawa volleyball player was piling out… "C-coach?!" He chuckled, waving from the driver's seat.
"Got these boys wrapped around your finger!"
"Y/NN CHAN!!" Tendo giggled, running up to her, wrapping his long arms around her.
"Hi Ten!" She giggled at his antics.
"Y/NN WHY DID YOU LEAVE MEEE?" Tsutomu groaned, joining in the hug.
"I'm coming back! Just a few more goodbyes!"
As they opened the gym door, Shiratorizawa was face to face with Karasuno's team. "OI WHY THE HELL!" Tanaka screamed, already rolling his sleeves up for a fight.
"Sorry! They're with me!" She giggled, stepping out between the two. "I just came by to say goodbye!"
"GOODBYE?!" They all screamed. "How did you not know?" Noya threw his hands up in defence.
"I WASN'T TOLD!"
"I didn't tell anyone! Wanted to keep it a secret.. but yes, I go back today!" She was dog-piled by the team, having formed a decent bond after the whole incident. Tearful hugs and goodbyes, as she giggled and laughed.
"So, you're really leaving?" Tanaka asked, just staring at her.
"Yep!" She smiled brightly at him, "but I'll be back to watch Yu play! and when we play you guys of course," She was happy, much happier… that much was clear to him.
" Love, come on." She turned bright red at Toshi, not used to his casual pet names in public.
" Toshi!" Y/N pouted, but was still giddy nonetheless.
" Sorry," he was blunt, not caring that much. She rolled her eyes, and went to contiue the conversation, until she was suddely hoisted up about 6 feet and 4 inches in the air.
"OI TOSHI!!"
"We don't have time, you'll see them later," He said, carrying her out the door and to the van.
"BYE GUYS LOVE YOU SEE YA!!" She screamed, waving to the others as they smiled and waved back, Noya jumping up and down.
"I'LL TAKE YA TO DINNER NEXT WEEK! LOVE YOU SIS!!"
"LOVE YOU YU!!"
