Aryna Sabalenka d. Amanda Anisimova to win her fourth grand slam. She is the first player to defend the US Open title since 2014.
They’ve split the slams, Sinner and Alcaraz, and the one Sinner needs is the one Alcaraz has won both times in the last two years (the French Open), and the one Alcaraz needs is the one that Sinner’s won both times… It really feels like they each need to break serve to complete the Career Slam, which is I think what’s also made this summer really interesting. If you’d said to me that Sinner’d win Wimbledon, I would’ve been surprised. And if you’d said that Alcaraz would get the U.S. Open on a hard court, I’d have been surprised. The rivalry is in a good place because it’s not like they’re just doing the things we expect them to do. They’re constantly responding to each other and improving their games as a result of it, proving they can beat each other on every surface. This rivalry is already really… open. Like I already think they can beat each other on every surface, at every event, and it does leave us in a really enticing place with those two.

i know djokoraz semi is scary, guys, but to me it‘s like…. if you really want carlos to win this, it‘s time. having novak in jannik‘s half wouldn‘t feel right, because if carlos wants to take this crown from jannik, it‘s only right that he faces the trials and tribulations of a djokoraz match on the way there and proves himself, in a way.
