a new chapter in my life
At my very last post here in tumblr, I said that I wouldn’t pass my final requirements since it was too draining for me. There has been a lot of breakdowns and doubts and a time where I almost gave up. I almost gave my thesis adviser a waiver form since my first thesis topic failed so much (no to teddybears huhu). But then I locked myself in my room that day and decided to change my WHOLE thesis topic. I scratched my first thesis topic and straight up made a whole new thesis with a whole new subject and product. From Chapter 1 to 3.
I thought I wouldn’t make it.
But here I am, at last. In a few days, I would be graduating from my beloved university. I would be graduating without honors but hey, at least I became one of the DLs for one sem back then hahaha. To be honest, it doesn’t matter if I would be graduating without honors because what makes me happy is that I saw my mother so happy and proud. It was a tearjerking moment when I called her all of a sudden after my thesis defense to tell her that I passed.
In a few days, I would be officially unemployed. A new chapter will start. And at this very moment, LinkedIn, Kalibrr, Jobstreet and Indeed are my friends right now. I said to myself back then that I would rest for a few weeks before hunting for a job. But I don’t know what’s urging me to search right away. I already had one interview with a big company, and other employees there said that it would take weeks for them to announce the results. And tomorrow, I would be having an interview with an advertising agency that’s on my top list. It’s nerve-wracking as I never had an interview with an ad agency before. I only had interviews with big companies as a graphic artist, so I’m still doubtful that I would pass this one as they are an ad agency.
This moment reminds me of my last days at Highschool; searching for universities/colleges that would take my 4 years into a rollercoaster ride. And lucky me as I’ve passed at my dream school. I’ll miss you, UST. I know it has been a hell of a ride. There are a lot of problems and missed opportunities but the good memories and new learnings easily overtake it.
