Native Americans attempting to stop a pipeline from being built on their land and water just got assistance from a large herd of wild buffalo.
Indigenous culture honors American bison (known as Tatanka Oyate, or Buffalo Nation) as a symbol of sacrifice, as the bison give their lives to provide food, shelter, and clothing through the use of their meat and their hides. Native Americans maintain a spiritual tradition with bison, believing that as long as buffalo — a gift from the Great Spirit — roam free and as long as the herds are bountiful, the sovereignty of indigenous people would remain strong.
And in the midst of mass arrests, mace attacks, and beatings from batons, a stampede of bison suddenly appeared near the Standing Rock protest camp. A cry of joy reportedly erupted from the Standing Rock Sioux, as they had been praying for assistance from the Tatanka Oyate during their standoff with riot police and national guardsmen.

Hillary Clinton tried to pull a fast one on Bernie Sanders' healthcare proposal at a rally in Saint Louis this afternoon. She failed miserably.
“Where was he when I was trying to get health care in ’93 and ’94?” Clinton rhetorically asked.”
Um....right behind you.
Here’s A Good Post , from USuncut, about how youth voters aren’t letting anybody down. 17-30 turnout has actually been higher than in previous elections. The media puts out stories like this but that doesn’t mean they have any substance behind them; the media just really loves saying young people are feckless and unreliable, and prone to holding “silly” ideas(all of which also makes up a passive-aggressive slight to whoever they give their political support to). The media’s always loved saying that, which makes it “conventional wisdom”, which leads to people repeating it uncritically when some Salon-hack decides to trot it out for our biennial electoral cage matches.
I know this is kind of a weird way to link to it, but if a site doesn’t have a big “crosspost to tumblr” button, it’s pretty much impossible for me to figure out how to do it -__- -__- -__-

The way that he responds to the hate that is thrown at him is admirable and amazing. Our society needs this.
[“I’m grounded in who I am, and I am a confident black man,” Boyega said. “A confident, Nigerian, black, chocolate man. I’m proud of my heritage, and no man can take that away from me. I wasn’t raised to fear people with a difference of opinion. They are merely victims of a disease in their mind.”] -Boyega
