You pass through the entryway of your shared penthouse apartment, the doors slamming shut behind you. With a groan, you kick off your shoes and trudge over to the pink, plush couch. You bellyflop onto it, and your mind, which has had your stress amped up to eleven for the past month due to needing to finish your thesis, finally breaks away and puts you in a more vulnerable state.
As you hug one of the many plushies of Mettaton’s box form that lies around the house, the aforementioned robot enters the room. “Well, hello, beau-” Mettaton stops short as he sees you curled up like a cat on the couch, hands clenched around the marketable plush. He slowly walks over to the sofa, gently sitting on it and placing a hand on your back. “Is it one of those small times again, darling?” You nod, your head peeking out for a moment. “I understand. You’ve been so stressed lately and barely had a break.”
“Been hard,” you mumble. “Don’t have much time for care.” The anxiety had taken an effect on your skin and body, with pimples from stress sprouting on your face and your back aching from hours spent bent over your laptop.
“I can tell, lovie. Would you like me to help you feel pretty again?” You nod in response, and Mettaton takes a pillow from the couch and places it on his lap. “Come here, let me braid your hair.” You ease into his touch, allowing his gloved fingers to ease the tension in your scalp and partition your hair. The motions are repetitive and controlled, allowing you to relax more and reduce the worries inside your head. “I understand if you don’t want to talk, darling. Would you like me to share some good news instead?” You reply with a happy hum. “Good!”

Day 22: garden/band-aids
Everything in Monster Territory is a garden. They're working on shrinking deserts, but are fine with savannahs. Remodeled Guardeners (from UTY) handle more maintenance, but I've gone over how everyone engages with the plants at some point. It's part of school projects and out of school activities. Food Forests are functional and Community Gardens, where most people and activities are, are just for looks.
Frisk really likes colorful band-aids. A lot of the Little Nightmares kids are roughian enough to need a lot of them. Gregory and Bailey are in a similar boat.
Day 23: trampolines/braiding hair
I'd imagine the Royal Family kids have a trampoline lying around somewhere, but Frisk would be the main one using it. She might get Asriel to play with her while Chara chills nearby. It's probably in Gruncle Snans and Happy Pappy's backyard.
Cassie is the main one braiding hair and having her hair braided. She's the only gang or Nowhere/SorrowSworne kid actually good at it and likes spending time with her non-blood brother. Gregory only knows how to braid at all because of spending quiet time with Cassie (a bby dragon probably pins him down by sleeping on his lap. He wasn't moving anyway, but they don't care. Naptime), but it can get a bit rough on his left hand after a while. The end of the braid especially gets a bit raggedy. None of it is that neat lol. Might make this a mini story.
Low and Alone might do a tiny bit of braiding, Neither of them know what they're doing besides their best.
For the ReAnimal kids, the Girl (still haven't decided on a name for her or anyone else) braids hair and you cannot deceive me otherwise. She used to braid Hood's hair until she cut it short and put on the diamond sac. They don't exactly hang out anymore.
Kelly and Riley braid each other's hair, Riley is throwing hands if Ian ever breaks up with her. Everyone knows he won't, but still. Also, he'd win.
Bailey's part of hair brushing gang, helps her regress if it's done to her, just part of getting ready for the day if she does it herself or to someone else. She'll let her hair be braided (it's only down to her shoulders, about an inch past that) but she doesn't know how to braid. Also, she exists to care for her kiddos and be Cassie's annoying big sister, so she's not learning anytime soon lmao.
Willow and Amity braid each other's hair (when Amity's hair isn't really short). Tracy/the Collector would grow their hair out so they can be braided, too!
Day 24: pull-ups training pants/muddy
Most of the kiddos are back in training pants because of the lack of bathrooms, if not diapers. Some willingly, most because of accidents.
Dylan only spent any time in training pants because he didn't know he was allowed to just ask for diapers until he leaked through his trainers and would be put in them anyway. Ian, Riley, Katy and Catherine, and Jake were in them or diapers for accidents, but most of them aren't complaining anymore. Katy only works to get back in training pants and big kid undies to lord it over his sister.
The gangers are much better at holding it than Yellow Star. More of them are in big kid undies and training pants than diapers. Bailey's the big (hehe) exception.
Nowhere/SorrowSworne kids are even better, Little Nightmares on top of that. They could be out of training pants and diapers permanently, if they wanted to, but having some convenient padding keeps them quieter in a pinch than trying to find a spot to go potty would be. Safer in emergencies while running from giant monsters.
Mono and Six need diapers the least out of everyone, but always wear them ^^^for the reasons above^^^. They and the rest of the Nowhere kids don't remotely trust anyone.
Luz and Hunter just prefer training pants if diapers aren't available/are too cumbersome. The problem arises when they run out of training pants as well. They don't have as easy access to them in the Boiling Isles, one trying to avoid the Emperor's Coven and the other being trapped in it. Amity's a fan once she gives them a chance, it just doesn't cross her mind until then.
The Boy (also still workshopping names) is in training pants while his sister's a lil diaper bnuy. Bandage needs them medically because of how absolutely obliterated he got by a bomb. Not sure what I wanna do with Hood yet.
Vee's too shy about asking to go potty and holds too much for training pants, but nobody can say she didn't try. Zoey, along with Bailey, is still figuring herself out and handling why she likes them, they haven't even graduated to diapers yet. Then again, Bailey hasn't even appeared yet lol.
Chara started in training pants to try helping with bedwetting, lots of nightmares about the Genocide run. They didn't hold enough, so Frisk eventually got the rest of that pack and uses her rainbow trainers now.
Debating how long Kris gets to start in training pants before being put in diapers.
Speaking of, Kris and Riley are the muddiest puppies! It doesn't matter if it hasn't rained for a while, they'll find a puddle to jump in. Susie is joining looking after her Human, Ralselle's orders.
Chara and Frisk are into puddles more than mud, but there aren't many solid surfaces like concrete or tarmac for clean puddles to form. That being said, their middle brother is covered in bright white fur... =)
Luz and Vee would play in some mud, they did in Thanks To Them. Wilow and Gus would join faster than Amity. They'd bring Hunter along the same way Luz would get Amity.
The rest of the gang kids are bigger fans than Bailey, Cassie, and Gregory. Cassie's a big city girl, she didn't find a lot of mud puddles and thinks they're gross. Bailey is busier helping Mama 'Roba clean everyone up after the muddy shenanigans, she still acts like all the roughhousing is gonna ruin everyone's only pair of clothes, especially when everything else is in the laundry for the same reason. She's done her time with muddy, mismatched shoes, torn jeans, and muddy shins. Gregory is far from a neat freak, he's slept on the same streets Cassie used to walk to school on, he's just used to not knowing the next time he'll get a shower that's not just freezing cold rain.
the other Day 24: nursing/butterflies
Chara will insist she doesn't wanna to the ends of the Earth. She's just hungry for some chocolate! Definitely!
Anyway, it makes her sleepy and Frisk's turn is afterward, lil ball of fluff's jelly of all the attention.
Bailey and Zoey are also in that boat of trying not to be Littles, doesn't last forever because Mama learns to tell. The tails are any Little's weakness, helps them fall asleep and calm down. They get to be wrapped up in them until it's time for a change and bed (or just to wipe their mouth lol). They also get some bottles stored away when Little away from home; she'll never admit it, but Bailey goes through those the fastest. She has a Stitch plushie in one arm and her bottle in the other, and hides away in her hoodies and jackets, wraps a blanket or two around herself if it's an option (helps hide her bottle if she falls asleep). Their ultimate undoing is if the bottle's warmed with some fire magic instead of the microwave. Reject big kid, embrace lil dummy wrapped in fox tails.
Vee has had multiple butterflies land on her nose. Their wings cover her lil eyes so Mama Cami's the one who shows her all the pictures. Zoey doesn't have to do the baby doll eyes to get them, but Camila likes it anyway.
Cassie has a million pictures of pups, kittens, and whatnot with butterflies on their noses. Getting her phone upgraded with Monster magi-tech, let alone what Gregory was able to do with it, has only made her a monster herself.
Mono and Six try to eat them if they get the chance. Cassie doesn't have a lot of pictures from those days.
The Girl and Frisk have plenty of butterfly stickers lying around, they'll put them on her, Low's, and Mono's masks when unsupervised. Despite the whole Local Blood Sacrifice Cult TM thing, Bucket's bucket is not spared.
Day 25: laundry day/time out
Laundry day is anarchy at Yellow Star. Everyone is trying to get all their outfits back at the same time and bby dragons (and Jerry, the mouse they adopted after Ceroba spent an entire day chasing it down) keep stealing piles of freshly dried clothes and pawing at anyone trying to get so much as a pair of shorts from their mound of W A R M. It's also a good way to force playtime.
Mono and Six are first to get their coats. They don't care about anything else and will eat anyone in the way. Cassie, Gregory, and Bailey get their things first because of the Monix scary dog privs and Bales being the leader. Again, the only clothes Bailey has a big "bond" with are her hoodies and backpack, she can wait her turn for everything else.
Time out in Yellow Star Orphanage consists of being wrapped up in Ceroba's tails while she does chores. Doesn't seem so bad until she informs you any accidents will still count against you right before doing the dishes. This is usually how Katy and Catherine end up on diaper punishment (again).
Day 26: blanket fort/big feelings
Luz's entire bed is one big blanket fort. Vee's jelly hehe. She and Zoey will make some and color a "NO LUZES ALLOWED!!!" sign WAY outside of the lines. Nerf and stuffie wars afoot.
Cassie likes to make blanket forts with Gregory, he's a lot better at putting them together than she is and it's a good way to drag Monix into socialising. Six is a raging insomniac so the soft, quiet spot attracts her, then she and Mono follow each other everywhere they go. With some time (and when Monix don't get there first), Low and Alone will join eventually.
Bailey is most vulnerable to big feels. It's been years since got to focus on and take care of herself. Her Dad was military and helped instill a lot of 'others before you' stuff, she didn't move on from it after everything fell apart. Now that her kiddos don't have to go to her for every little thing, everything feels too quiet, even when there's nothing but noise around her. It's why she jumped into becoming a Caretaker assistant when Ceroba noticed her, gives her a distraction and busywork.
Day 27: overalls/peek-a-boo
Maybe Mono would wear overalls under his trench coat. Bucket's the only one besides that.
Day 28: fireflies/popsicles
Kris has been around fireflies a lot. There are plenty in some fields outside the orphanage. He goes there at night to wind down and get away from the world. Its in the same spot as some giant, glowing mushrooms where he gets witchcraft ingredients like special myceliums and toxic caps. Some of them are even big enough to carve rooms or homes out of their stems! Them and the fireflies make this starry night effect on the ground, right in the grass.
Ceroba and Bailey tend to supervise when they bring out the rest of the kids to chase the fireflies. They like to chat and watch the pretty light. Might make this a mini story
Day 29: stimming/bees
Luz does the flappy hand thing. hapi light
Willow's Clover (Palisman, not uty) helps when she's taking care of Hunter, Luz, or Amity. She brings a bunch of whatevers back and forth for the Littles, anything small enough to carry around; bottles, sippys, pacis, she drags blankets around, changing supplies, toys, and anything else Willow needs.
Day 30: tears/cuddles
Vee gets and gives the best cuddles! Loves her Mama and likes to coil around her naptime/bedtime buddies. Usually Zoey, Cabin 7, or some animals. Will occur during V Spooky Rules.
Luz wants to have as many sleepovers as possible! Her abomination of conjoined matresses bed has plenty of room for everyone to have their own corner of the cardboard castle. Amity always sleeps right next to her, Willow and Gus go back and forth being kicked by the otter with a dark side. Hunter doesn't usually end up with them, but is a sucker for leaf blankets and Willow hugs when he does.
Six and Mono sleep all tangled with each other in shifts. They don't trust anyone but each other to keep watch. The Local Blood Sacrifice Cult (TM) and gang also sleep in shifts.
Bucket is the most trusted due to sheer weight class, Bandage is least for the same reason. Bailey takes a handful of shifts herself, but generally organises who'll take what shifts; small groups of 3-5 depending on how old, experienced, tough/strong, sickness, and how recently they ate well. While they were watching, she'd often fix up whatever building they were squatting in and spraypaint red Xs on spots that were unstable/actively collapsing/about to collapse.
They'd huddle for warmth and she had to wriggle around them. As a result, she's the reigning hopscotch champion.
Chara and Frisk sneak into Asriel's bed on bad/nightmare nights. He had to get a bigger bed and he frequently loses feeling from his shoulders down and has squeeze marks around his ribcage/floofy belly. Otherwise, Frisk is a big fan of pillow forts and does her best to get both of them to sleep in the living room with her. Her favorite is making the couch the back wall because Asriel sleeps against it so Chara can't reach both his ears very well, which gives her something to lean against so she can sleep on top of him easily. She likes to hold his jammy shirts.
Alone is Low's plushie. Runaway Kid likes to be surrounded by Nomes, Raincoat Girl and ReAnimal Girl join in when they can.
Gregory likes his personal space. Cassie also likes his personal space.

Any thoughts on horrotale Sans as a regressor? Idk about caregivers although nightmare's gang as a polycule is near and dear to my heart. Just anything at all? He deserves to feel safe and loved and cherished. Thanks a bunch, boo!! ♡♡♡

Little!Horror Sans
🌭 Little Horror loves music! He has a set of baby bongos and loves playing them, as well as his caregivers playing with him! Baba (Killer) plays harmonica and plays for Horror when hes regressed, especially if he looks a little down.
🌭 Horror regresses due to his trauma and uses it as a coping mechanism but is sometimes sent into little space but not by choice. The bad sanses are quick to help, all of them taking the roles as caregivers when needed, but nightmare and killer love it the most.
🌭 Nightmare reads Horror bedtime stories and does little tea parties with him, with all sorts of snacks and "tea" which is actually milk! Horror often uses a sippy cup instead of a tea cup, just because it makes him feel a lot more comfy. Cross attends these tea parties as well! He's the bodyguard for the super secret tea parties but always ends up sitting with them enjoying some chocolate milk 🍫
🌭 Dust enjoys watching cartoons with horror! His favorite is spongebob or wow wow wubzzy! They snuggle up on the couch or in bed with all the sweets and blankets in the castle and watch till they fall asleep 💖
🌭 Error likes to play dolls with horror! He makes him custom dolls and doll clothes and always puts on a delightful show with Horror. He also shares his special chocolate with him, as they both giggle about their dramatic rendition of undernovela

Cg! Alphys and Regressor! Undyne
Undyne regresses unintentionally, it can easily be read as her being the usually energtic fish she is.
Due to them becoming close Alphys starts to pick up on differences when Undyne is small even if she isn't sure why its happening yet.
Undyne tends to talk less though her running around and accidental trouble crossing manages to increase and that catches Alphys' attention. This leads to research and actually checking in with Undyne in and out of these states.
Undyne is still herself she just feels a bit softer, smaller even if she were to describe it and eventually admits this to Alphys. They research this and realize Undyne tends to regress due to long term stress and repressing her own emotions that she even hides when small.
This leads to them to eventually find healthy ways for Undyne to regress and work out her emotions through comfort and love, getting her much more comfortable as Alphys is an amazing partner in general.
As a kiddo Undyne loves various activities to do with Alphys. They make slime, various crafts, and kid friendly science "experiments." These two are still nerds of course and also watch kid friendly anime like sailor moon or Naruto. They also manage a schedule to the best of their ability for self care.

Day 14: pastel colors/clouds
Ralsei, Frisk, Bailey, and the Girl are most likely to wear pastels. Rals has plenty of pastel outfits, mainly pink. Frisk's main outfit (the striped sweater) has pink stockings and shoulder gloves with blue stripes. Bailey's agere supplies and casual outfit has a lot of pastel/pale blues. Not sure what ReAnimal Girl wears, but she has the vibe lol.
Kris likes to hang out in Susie and Ralsei's Tower City; they're high up enough that some clouds flow through them. For the unfinished ones, when the shields aren't ready, everyone goes running for cover from the rainclouds.
Frisk, Kelly, and Ian all like to find shapes in the clouds. Frisk gets attacks by all the stray pups and kittens around the Castle. Kelly dragged Ian into enjoying lying in the fields and dancing in the rain.
Day 15: cherry blossoms/crafts
Ralsei would absolutely chill under a cherry blossom tree. Chara collects petals for potions while Frisk intentionally mispronounces her name; reminder Frisk is selectively mute because of an old throat injury, she's bein all raspy saying "cher/chair-a" 1000000% on purpose.
Bailey loves arts and crafts time. Since she's usually Ceroba's Caretaker assistant, it's probably not a coincidence she gets put with the kiddos doing crafts a lot. Mama 'Roba keeps them all and makes sure she gets plenty of private crafts time (and a change) without trying to handle a bunch of kids. Might make this a mini story.
Frisk doesn't have a lot of assigned crafts time besides one art class, she does and makes whatever she wants whenever she wants, Tori keeps plenty of (normal) little supplies around. Asriel and Chara are easy to bring into her projects, I've said before Azzie does art therapy with spooky flowers and Chara draws plans for cool drones/other large machines and movie monsters. If you've seen Scrapbook Tale, it's literally that.
The Yellow Star Orphanage has some crafts days, but they're rarer than just going somewhere fun at the end of the week, too much cleanup for Mama 'Roba and Kris. Riley is the most into them tho.
Speaking of, Kris is usually picking up scraps for the Yellow Star kids, he doesn't usually get to make them himself until Rals and Elly set something up. A lot of making paper puppies.
Luz is a walking arts and crafts project; her bed is multiple mattresses taped together in a cardboard castle with a sheet draped over the top and held up by a string, she has a ton of shelves with the names of lego sets and their dimensions drawn on, her spells are glyphs, etc. Similar case for Cassie, but wolf bby doesn't have a big room to herself to paste a bunch of art projects around.
Vee and Zoey get to do crafts a decent bit, usually just origami. Zoey does a lot of those little diamond things where you open/close it a number of times until you get a 'fate' drawn on the inside (wtf are those called?), Vee likes paper cranes.
Day 16: frogs/pacifiers
Kris and Vee like to look at the frogs around Monster Territory. No touch, just watch them hop around and thaw out after Winter.
Luz's pacifier's already been shown in VSR. A light purple one she stuck a bunch of little plastic diamonds on. Vee stole it while she was in the Boiling Isles. This definitely won't result in a fight. Vee needs a pumpkin paci to clash with her fav blue sweater.
Chara has a bunch of red and black pacifiers, her fav is a black one with a red Soul on the front. Frisk's pacifiers are usually pink, plus a light blue bit around where the paci clip attaches.
Got some designs for Zoey's Pacis, Amity needs a white kitten, Hunter needs something red, Bailey and Kris have the same taste.
Dylan has something sporty, probably with a basketball on the front. Jake has something soft brown and cream to match an eevee. Ian gets something pink and a light blue one. Riley is ouppy and Katy and Catherine are kitty.
Day 17: extra tiny/big hoodies
Vee, Luz, Hunter, and especially Amity are easiest to make extra tiny. Luz and Vee are already baby hehe. Willow is Hunter's weakness, he's super little for her. Ams is the same way for Luz, but Mama Cami could probably get her teeny tiny eventually.
It's a lot harder for Bailey and Zoey, due to how unsure they are about their regression, but they both have extra Little outfits in private. Brushing her hair help Bailey a ton tho.
Bailey loves her big hoodies and jackets. Her backpack used to be her Dad's bomber jacket with a bunch of military patches, but fell apart over time. Ralsei and Mama 'Roba stitched it back together and reinforced it with magic for her, but she still needed a new jacket/ hoodie. She mainly goes with a plain black jacket, a blue Glamrock Bonnie jacket, or a blue Deltarune/Souls hoodie. Might make this a mini story.
Gregory has his own hoodies and jackets, usually red or pale blue. Cassie always has her red sweater, easy to swat her big brother with while he's trying to code or build robots.
Vee has her share of big sweaters and hoodies, including the art one.
Day 18: peeps/raincoats
Six has a raincoat. That is all.
fr Mono prob gets one, Chara and Frisk each have their own, most everyone else sticks to those cheap rain ponchos.
Day 19: plants/nonspeaking (or nonverbal)
Willow is plant mama, attacks (tickles and carries) her Littles with alllllllll the plants.
Ralselle lead many gardening projects while Krusie enable shenanigans. Bailey helps out for some easy G, but Rals tries to keep her from worrying about the other kiddos. Let her be Little planting flowers and veggies.
Frisk is nonverbal by default just because she doesn't speak at all, anyway. All sign language.
Bailey and Zoey just kinda break sometimes. Like their big kid mind catches up to what they're doing and they feel physically ill. They go back to being a big girl. Fortunately, this mostly ends in a bottle and being put down for a nap with their favorite plushies.
Day 20: physical agere/stickers
Chara would have a blast with bein tiny, sucker all the chocolates and uppies outta gote dad! But Frisk insists she's big girl. And then do it to Clover for the lols.
None of the Nowhere, gang, or Local Blood Sacrifice Cult (TM) would appreciate being tiny. Too vulnerable and incapable.
Vee and Luz would have a great time being a tiny nope rope (nope string? Worm on a string) and otter, get to be carried around by Mama Cami and Owl Mom.
Bailey, Zoey, and Kris might get talked into it. But Bailey's least likely to go through with it, doesn't want any of her kiddos seeing her.
Frisk has the most fun with stickers. In VSR, some of the Guards have stickers booped around their legs because she's too smol to reach any higher. Vee would have a good time, too, if the big Monsters in enchanted full plate armor with big weapons weren't rly scary.
A lot of the gang kids would wanna put stickers everywhere. There are at least a few who got Gregory to hack a construction drone so they could put on somewhere really out of the way; that way there's just this anarchy sticker hanging around somewhere because it's not worth diverting another builder drone to remove it. Cassie makes her own stickers (and a lot of little pins).
Bailey doesn't admit it, but she totally engages in the sticker shenanigans. If caught by Mama 'Roba, sentenced to tail jail (and napp)
Day 21: rainbows/bugs
Lots of Monster-made clothing and items have a rainbow motif. Technically it refers to the seven Souls and should be missing a Pink one, but it often gets added anyway (see again, the Vee art). It's just not given the same weight as the actual seven Souls. As a result, Most of the kiddos have some slightly-rainbow clothes (thinking of Bales' jacket)
Frisk leans more into it. She wears rainbow training pants to school :D Odds are she has some rainbow diapers for home and long trips around the Kingdom. Similarly, being called 'the Winged Angel' despite not literally having wings, she's usually depicted as having white wings with Soul-colored feather shafts.
Frisk and Chara like watching ants do their thing. One or both of them probably played Empires of the Undergrowth.
Kris knows where plenty of bugs hang out if he needs them 'for a project'

You sift through Mettaton’s walk-in closet, amazed at all the costumes and accessories he’s amassed over the years. “Is there something that catches your eye, beautiful?” The robot follows closely behind, able to reach the hangers above.
You notice a floor-length pink gown adorned with a giant bow on the back. Your eyes light up with excitement, and you push the other outfits to the side to show it to your carer. “This one!” You bounce on your heels and are excited to try it on.
“Oh, that’s a great choice! Something from the older collection, but it’ll look perfect on you!” Mettaton takes the dress down and holds it up to you. “Anything else to go with it, darling?”
You dash over to where Mettaton keeps his boas and point to a white one made of ostrich feathers. “This too!”
Mettaton chuckles and takes it down for you as well. “Is that all?” You nod, wrapping the boa around your neck. “Don’t get too excited. We have to do your makeup too!” Mettaton helps you change from your MTT Brand robe into the dress, zipping it up in the back before placing a makeup cape around your neck. “Now, what do you want today?” He presses a button on the makeup case, and it opens with a hiss.
You point at the pink eyeshadow palette and the mascara tucked in next to it. “Oh, that will look absolutely beautiful!” As the robot monster prepares his brushes, you kick your feet in the chair he took out for you. “Don’t move too much, dear. I don’t want to ruin your makeup or the dress.” You hum and still your legs, waiting patiently. “Are you ready, darling?”
“Mhm! Wanna look all pretty,” you chirp.
“Good!” Mettaton coos as he pats your head softly.

WHO’S READY FOR SOME TORIEL ANGST??? This ficlet is more like “children who died” than “child she never had,” but I INSTANTLY had the idea for it upon reading the prompt. I’ve never written anything for Toriel before, so I hope y’all like it!

Your classroom was finally cleaned for the evening, with each toy and writing utensil neatly put away. As you were about to leave and lock the door, you couldn’t help but feel pulled towards the bookshelf in the corner. It hosted a variety of books by human and monster authors alike, and the golden binding of one of them caught your eye. You pulled it out and examined the cover. Well, no one else is around. It shouldn’t be too much of an issue if I give it a read.
You settled into the beanbag next to the bookshelf, opened the cover, and read the paragraphs underneath the illustrations to yourself. As you did, you found yourself easing into that younger mindset that you usually reserved for when you were home after you graded all the homework as a way to destress. You found yourself excited for each turn of the page, the childlike happiness comforting you.
The door to the classroom opens, and you hear soft, padded footsteps. “I am sorry to bother you, but I seem to have left my records in one of the classrooms.” Toriel, the principal and founder of the school you worked at, looks at you. You look back at her with wide eyes, not flinching out of your regression, as the Boss Monster was known for her motherly nature. Toriel stops for a moment as if her heart skipped a beat. She blinks twice, then moves to kneel next to you. “I- uh, see you have made yourself quite at home. Would you like me to read to you?” She catches herself. “I am sorry if this is too forward. You just reminded me of… someone.”
“I-It’s ok!” You shift in the beanbag, allowing for some space for Toriel. “You can read to me,” you smile.
