Tony folded his arms, hiding as much as he could get away with, and avoided eye contact. He did know. He was well aware that there wasn't another an alpha in the world who would be willing to try to take him from Steve who wouldn't be worse than he was. It took him too long, but eventually, he sniffed and nodded.

Loki entered into the office with a coffee for Tony and another round of flowers and chocolates from someone who wanted to court him. "Good morning! Coffee for you and where would you like me to set these? Sent from, uhhh... Oh, an anonymous." Loki had set down the coffee and looked at the accompanying card. Loki had successfully lived his life as an assistant in Stark Industries under the guise of a Beta. Taking suppressants regularly had helped him keep up that facade, but an issue with renewing that prescription could put that front in danger. He leaned against the desk to ease the weight of the flowers off his arms for a moment. "Anything else I can grab for you for now? Otherwise I can make sure that the board room is ready for today's meeting."

Tony had half-heartedly tried to get Loki into bed when he'd first been hired, but he hadn't tried again after being rejected. That just wouldn’t be classy. "Thanks, Loke. Can you put the flowers in a vase somewhere public where people can enjoy them? And toss the card.” He didn’t often get flowers--alpha men usually didn’t--so he was a little bit charmed, but they weren’t personal. They weren’t from someone who knew him and knew that he’d like the flowers, so they could only be so lovely. 

He frowned as Loki moved and he caught a whiff of something unusual. It was... but it was probably just wishful thinking. “Is that a new scent? It smells nice.”

There was nothing in the world that cut through Tony's guilt and self-doubt like Bruce taking control. He'd been on his knees under the desk for an hour already--a reminder that he didn't need to be past perfect in all that he did for the Avengers and SI because his success could be more accurately determined by how well he served his alpha. Down here, his only job was to do what he was told and be a convenient receptacle for cum--he didn't have to be smart or strong or perfectly presentable. It had been more than a week, since Steve had been told both that Natasha was an omega and that he was listed as her HR-40. It had been three days since the end of the frantic, unexpected heat, made up of long days of doing little but sex and holding each other, all while Steve desperately clung to all of the rational thought he could manage to avoid bonding her. Even in the 40s, it was inappropriate to claim someone without discussing it outside of heat first, no matter how much both parties wanted it. But now the hormones had faded and Steve couldn’t stop thinking about how much he wished she was his. So, it was time to man up and discuss.

I know this is a big squicky one for a lot of people, but I find the way it messes with gender roles appealing.  I play Tony as any orientation, and I also tag with that orientation for any threads in this verse.

Howard was an omega and Maria a beta. Their pregnancy was highly unusual and unexpected and Tony grew up largely unwanted by his parents, though it had nothing to do with his own orientation.  Jarvis was a beta and Ana an alpha, so Tony never got a good look at what a traditional alpha/omega relationship should look like.
