“hi,” you whisper, climbing into your sister’s bed and shifting behind her, arm moving round her waist. “are you awake? i can’t sleep.”

it’d been a slow week. one where brianna had found herself overcome with the quietness of the emptied house where she lived alone. the usual creek of a floorboard, or the wind against a window being her only solace. she had lingered for a while, upon the sill of the downstairs window, eyes watching as the for sale sign rocked slowly against the winds and the leaves climbed the perch on which it sat. it had been too big, she’d told herself, watching it. too big a house for one so young and so alone. an apartment was better, she had thought. with a roommate. but until then, she was to occupy the house until she saw fit that it would be passed down to owners who were right. that had been her morning. engulfed in thoughts that occupied her daily. until now, where she found herself wondering the halls of mit and making a move to the science block.
it’d been a while since she’d allowed herself to visit. too raw with the ideologies that had filled her head in the hours of class she had taken. and yet, she knew, she owed it to finally call in. see someone she hadn’t for a while. leaning against the door of her old classroom, she pondered at the various items that had been spread across the tables and swallowed at the notion that she had come so close to her engineering qualifications only to let them slip through her fingers. the silhouette of a rather large man, his back to her, lingered and she couldn’t help but smile. “if i didn’t know any better i’d say someone is slacking,” brianna mocked to her old friend and professor before stepping inside the room and chuckling, “here i was thinking that you were above that.” || @atomiism

The world seemed to hold its breath with this operation and all Morrigan could really think about was how she had seen this all before. The pressure on the Americans was at its peak and every time she entered camp, you could feel the tension in the air.
Joint operations weren't that much spoken off, but they were necessary in war efforts. They needed a point in, or they would have to again run with their tails between their legs, something she quite enjoyed. She did not have a soft heart for these people, she had been trained to do so, but she never really forgot her true mission, something about that just stuck.
Even if they were in the November months, it was still rather hot, and she was looking for a unit they had assigned to her for a particular mission. She stopped in front of the merry band and took her glasses off. "So...you're going to be my escort?" she asked to no one in particular, because while she had names and files, and knew just who did what, she did want to see who would speak up first, telling of one's character to do so.
