“Hey.” Jax didn’t know why he even bothered to open his mouth when it came down to Ima, she was the very definition of whore. So used and abused by the porn industry and by men who saw her as an easy lay that he doubted anybody would respect her enough to want to settle down. Not that he gave a shit --- she meant as little to him as the dirt on his boot. Spreading her legs for Opie, causing a scene at the clubhouse and having the goddamn nerve to wave a gun around like the crazy bitch she was. He couldn’t stand to be around her, felt dirty just looking at her, and yet here he was.

When Gemma told him to take care of Ima, he went above and beyond. Bouncing her face off the table in her trailer, splitting her nose open and spitting on her like she was a dog. It was more than an empty threat, he could have killed her if he wanted to and nobody would have given a shit. As disposable as trash --- and that’s what bothered him. 

How could a woman as attractive as she was, end up being a throw-away? The question had been prying at him, along with undeniable guilt as he stood and looked at her. Eyes swollen, cheeks bruised... quiet. He felt like shit, knew he had turned into a man he never thought he would become. But an apology was not what he was handing out, what was done was done.

“Tell me somethin’.” He began, the clubhouse bare as glared at her. “Who hurt you so badly that you turned into this?” The question was sharp on his tongue, and he found that he was asking himself the same thing.
