Scott's characters and how grief runs through them, and it fascinates me, just because grief is such a fun thing to play with in general and the options he gives to think in it. The Flight and the grief of Pyro leaving - Pirates with Acho, too. Witchcraft and Bannerfall barely need explaining. Empires 1 and loosing who you were and learning that not even the new you can continue. Life Series barely needs explaining, everyone is grief there. Arguably even cowboys and wanting to do his recently daddy proud despite being the sheriff of a dying old town, or Rats1 and the whole side plot with the nether vines, less of a thing but still touching it. You've got parents and husbands and friends and siblings and even grief for the self and everything between.

I don't really have a point, I'm just thinking about it.

i think his characters are such a great example of the idea that grief is the culmination of love

we love, and loved, and we knew it might end in tragedy or just cease to be, and yet we loved. and the pain we feel every day is proof that the impact of those individuals was real and that they were there

so many of scott's characters are curse by grief in the most plain ways (the joke of him outliving many if not all of his loved ones on every pow smp is played, but very real), but that's only because they love so openly and so fiercely

Got some techy stuff in the works for here but this post is not tech related.

Been writing a lot of poetry lately actually, and have decided to be vulnerable and post it on the Internet.

If you have a minute to check it/my blog out, would appreciate immensely but no pressure etc etc!!

jane maintains a very consistent schedule for life in the bureau, from exercising to work to diet— plans and socializing. straying from said schedule isn't damning⸻ for example, if she's distracted with conversation⸻ but routine is safer.

4:30 AM — wake up. — get dressed. — make bed. — prepare and ingest protein shake. ( 100cal )

4:45 AM — workout monday ( full— body: core, flexibility ) tuesday ( arms & legs ) wednesday ( cardio ) thursday ( full— body: boxing, speed ) friday ( arms & legs ) saturday ( cardio ) sunday ( yoga )

5:45 AM — shower. change. — return gym bag to cell. — put dirty clothes away.

6:00 AM — breakfast ( 600cal 2 eggs, 1 slice american cheese, 2 slices whole— wheat toast, 8oz milk, 1 orange )

6:30 AM — outline daily schedule, review weekly schedule. ( create weekly schedule on saturday for following week ) ( pencil in “spontaneous” events, ie. eating out, movie nights, overtime missions. modify meal plan for the day to stick to calorie intake/ adjust sleep schedule to account for late nights ) — wash clothes ( every other day ) — check work email. — call nursing home around 7:00 AM. — socialize ( if applicable )

7:30 AM — clock in. — check depot for supply office deliveries. bring to supply office. help unload and update inventory. ensure all orders are input. do not get entangled in conversation with faye and luminita for too long.

8:00 AM — go to next location; varies on day. lunch may have to be moved to accommodate missions, paperwork, other bureau duties. ( work day also includes time for training in training room, typically before any daily missions but will try to train from 11:00-12:00 daily. )

12:00 PM — lunch ( 600cal varies on daily selection. usually a simple salad with no dressing or sandwich. banana. 8oz water. 1 protein bar. )

12:30 PM — back to work. — see chief once a day. even if just a glance. spot them from across the hall or have a conversation before moving onto next task. ( used to mentally schedule a time to find chief. due to the unpredictability in chief’s schedule, jane often can’t find them when she wants to. lead to some anxiety, tries to limit encounters to once a day, anytime. ) — try to limit informal conversations to lunch breaks and off— work hours.

3:30 PM — clock out. — see hypnotherapist on wednesdays after clocking out. — change out of work clothes. — go for a short run in outdoor activity room.

4:00 PM — free time. check recreation room, library, outdoor recreation. — call mom and dad.

6:00 PM — dinner ( 600cal varies on daily selection. cafeteria has a special dinner on fridays that jane will consistently get. )

6:30 PM — free time.

8:00 PM — shower. — brush teeth. — wash face.

8:30 PM — set alarm. — go to bed.

note:

jane does not work regularly on weekends but will work overtime if the opportunity arises. she typically will submit a leave of absence for most of the day to spend at the nursing home with her parents. sometimes alone, occasionally with chief.

jane sticks to a daily 1800 calorie diet. it is technically 1900 including her protein shake, but her workouts are rigorous enough that she omits it from her day— to— day plan. jane prefers to be given some time in advance to look at a menu before going out to eat. she may refuse food offered to her or modify her exercise plan or diet the following day to account for going over that amount.

jane enjoys socializing even if her free time rarely allows it. she will always stay awake for movie nights if it's interesting.

jane struggles with spontaneity and relies on a strict plan for success, as honed from competitive schooling and bank heists. she is usually flexible with minor upsets in her weekday schedule, but grows uneasy if there is a large part of her schedule changed without notice. ( creating a schedule pantomimes self— control; she hands control over to time and others, chance is rarely welcome to any of her time. )
