A fe concepts for what Vahni’s formal wear and what she possibly could look like at 8 years old! (These designs are unofficial and may change)
Young Vahni spent most of her early childhood in a refugee camp on the western coast of the United Republic after she and her family immigrated from the Fire Nation, like many Sun Warrior families did. Many of her clothes were hand-me-downs from her cousins and were also given to her and her family when they first arrived in the United Republic.
Vahni and her family didn’t settle in Republic City till she was close to 9 years old, and they’d moved from the town of Zhulin in the Fire Nation when she was 3 years old.
Hey Vahni! My little half brother asked: Do you know who Raava is?
“Well, tell him I said yes! I actually learned about Raava the day after I airbended for the first time. Yin-Wei, my airbending instructor, told me all about the first Avatar and how he merged with her to even become the Avatar. I haven’t met Raava yet, but you can be darn sure I look forward to it!”
He dances and prances and dodges your lances.

How your family reacted to you being the Avatar? Any of your brothers were jealous or they liked that their sister is now more cool?
“I mean... My parents were pretty happy, I guess. Mostly surprised. My grandma was over the moon about it. My brother and sister don’t really talk about it much. Nilak doesn’t really treat me the same. He’s backed off a lot and acts like I’m this... this different person.”
“My sister, Surah, on the other hand doesn’t even act like anything has changed. She still calls me an “incompetent mortal”. Then again, I’d rather her treat me like she always has, even if that means she’s constantly insulting me.”
What do you think of Korra? Have you met her yet? Have you mastered any of the elements?
“Ah, I saw this one coming. I haven’t met her or my other past life. I still have yet to get a hang of the spiritual stuff.”
“On the bright side, I have mastered firebending and I’m really close to mastering airbending too.”
