The necklace is secured around the Selkie's neck, as shown by a flourish in display by the merman's excited gestures. He's unsure as to wether or not the other would deem the gift something especially bestowed upon him due to what /day/ it was, or if it was simply a gift-- Link didn't know what would be best, between them, and as such, only shrugged into himself with scarlet cheeks and allowed the other to determine it for himself. Happy Valentines, Ronan~ <3
This was for him? Ronan hadn’t been expecting such a gift, and certainly hadn’t been expecting to have one given to him today. Ronan had certainly noticed the date, what with all the decorations that were hung out of various shops, many of them being of the red, pink, and heart-shaped variety. Valentines Day wasn’t something that the selkie had ever paid much mind to, given that he’d never really had much reason to celebrate such a day.
At least, not until now. Cheeks that were littered in freckles slowly reddened, and soon matched the colour of the merman’s own as slender fingers reached up to touch the piece of jewelry. He hadn’t thought that Link would be privy to such a mortal tradition, but obviously, he’d been wrong in that regard.
“I… It’s… It’s b-beautiful,” he murmured, maroon eyes lifting to look into the face of the blond merman. The selkie had always been timid, shy, but in this case, he found that it was for a reason that he was quite... unfamiliar with.
No one had ever been able to make Ronan’s heart skip beats like Link always could.
“I-- um...” He fidgeted with the necklace for a moment, a nervous titter developing in his stomach, “Y-You didn’t have to do this, and it w-was-- it w-was really sweet, and I... I just, ah...”
He was certain as to what prompted him to shift closer to Link, to reach out and take hold of his hands, squeezing softly. The usual revulsion that Ronan felt when it came to physical contact was nearly nonexistent with the merman, a fact which had baffled the selkie boy for some time. Now, however, things were slowly beginning to fall into place. Drawing the merman’s hands up, Ronan pressed brief, tentative kisses to the backs of them, his pulse racing all the while.
“Th... Th-Thank you, Link. Happy... H-Happy Valentines Day.”
