The soldier stared down at the blonde boy, mouth hung open slightly in surprise. He felt heat rising to his cheeks as well stuttered an apology, limbs flailing about like some kind of out of control Hydra.
{What the hell was that, Will?}
Slowly, he edged toward the shorter camper, eyebrows furrowed deeply. Eli saw them nearing a cliff and took this opportunity to pin him against it; ignoring the little pieces of dirt that fell onto Will’s shoulders.
He clenched his jaw, hues of chocolate burning into the gaze of the other with a rather unidentifiable expression.
{What do you think you’re doing?}
Oh gods- oh gods, he'd fucked up big time, hadn't he? The breath caught in his throat when he was pushed up against the cliffside, and for the life of him he couldn't breathe anymore. Or maybe he was; he was vaguely aware of the sounds of his panicked breaths, but he didn't feel like he was getting any oxygen from them. Eli almost looked furious, or at least that was the expression that Will was reading in them, and he would've been terrified even if he hadn't been pinned to a wall of rock. That only made his panic worse- he couldn't escape, Eli was going to kill him right here and now-
And he deserved it. He was nothing but a mistake. He shouldn't have tried that, he shouldn't have tried to do anything. He should've just stayed the course to be friends with the soldier and ignore whatever primal feelings surged up in his chest from time to time. They would've gone away eventually if he had just kept his godsdamn thoughts to himself.
The healer was sufficiently subdued, large blue hues filled with nothing now except fear and shame. "I don't- I don't- I- I don't know. I don't know, Eli, I don't- I can't explain it, I can't, just- please, I'm sorry- I'm sorry, I am, I won't- I won't try it again I promise-" Gods, I'm such an idiot.
