if valkia was a man would khorne have still married her?

I feel like his initial intentions would've been different. There's another champion who kills a Keeper of Secrets as a mere mortal (stronger than a Daemon Prince which is what Valkia fought), for example, and we don't see Khorne showing him the same interest as he did Valkia. Yeah yeah, the gods are inscrutable, but I definitely think Gender was a factor in that difference of outcome.

If Valkia was a man, I feel like he would've had to have shown such interest in Khorne (Valkia notably has no romantic or sexual interest in Khorne before she is ascended; the interest starts from Khorne himself. Queens seldom rule alone; they have consorts or are consorts themselves. When Valkia began calling herself a Queen, and after she had murdered her husband, Khorne probably very well figured his "King of Skulls" went well with her "Queen of Gore". The book makes it very clear that around the point in the book Deron was introduced, Khorne was watching and actively pursuing Valkia. I imagine his interest in pairing didn't come until after she 1v1'd Locephax) and that Khorne would have to have reciprocated it. We've already spoken at length about Khorne's androphilia. If Valkia presented the head of Locephax as a nuptial gift / bride token, Khorne would've accepted it as such.

Fun fact: The End Times explicitly calls the skulls valkia reaps for Khorne a dowry.

There's some misogyny in Khorne's pursuit of Valkia, a manifestation of commonly held belief in the WHW that women cannot or should not rule alone / outright by themselves.

There would, conversely, be some homophobia in Khorne's pairing with a male!Valkia but particularly the greek / roman kind. Ironically, the Blood God would be noticeably more willing to mount m!Valkia than Valkia lmaooo. However, this would carry a note of disparagement for Valkia.

As a woman, Valkia's desire would be chalked up to those of a woman's linering in her new form + Khorne would acquiesce as that is his duty as a husband and fits beneath his portfolio as the God of Virtus. After all, what man does not know his wife?

As a man, Valkia's desire would be a tolerated quirk and a symbol of Khorne's domination; that so fine a warrior would court him just to submit in the end. Valkia grants him his desire (skulls) and so Khorne is amenable to Valkia's own whenever they arise.

Homophobia and Misogyny are both forms of violence. And Khorne, as we know, is the god of violence in all it's forms.

The fact that you’re putting me side-by-side with Valkia???? I could die. Right now. When I started this blog I jokingly was like “I want to be baby Valkia!” Like the freaking Valkia of xbox, and this ask is just… it validates so many years and so much of my time on Pharah. Seriously you’re a godsend, thank you for your validation.
