I'm curious, does anyone else know the significance/symbolism of Meredith crawling out of the black ichor bath tub? I know the tub was the same one Lydia's grandmother had been in (which is another reason I think this is all Valack's charade, reminding us of the tampering of memory), but what else does this scene represent? Also, is there any significance behind the Ringu reference? This movie has been referenced multiple times, but is it just for aesthetics or does it mean something deeper?

I'm back to believing Valack is controlling Parrish, as in he is his master. Valac is the demon president of hell, Parrish is a hell hound. I don't think either of them are evil. They are on the side of restoring balance. The dread doctors have their champion, La Bete, in Scott. Vallack has his champion in Parrish.
