Mona is there a possibility that JP is Camden?
I honestly don’t think so. But it’s a theory that has been floating around since the introduction of Parrish, and it resurfaces very now and then.
In the montage where the hellhound tells Lydia when he came to be, we see Parrish getting blown up in the desert. It’s cut to clips of the icebaths, which is when the Nemeton was really activated again. Deaton said that would draw things there, and I think a hellhound is called into duty for supernatural cleanup duty. The way the scene was cut together it seemed to indicate that the icebaths triggered the return of the hellhound. and that it took the body of Jordan Parrish, who was indeed a soldier.
Parrish showed up in 3b and actually did come face to face with Isaac. So if he was Camden Lahey, then Isaac should’ve recognized him.
But more importantly, if Parrish died and became host to the hellhound right after the icebaths, then he couldn’t be Camden, because he was already dead. That was revealed back in season 2 and I always go the impression he’d been dead a while.
So no, I don’t really think Parrish is Camden Lahey :)
I'm back to believing Valack is controlling Parrish, as in he is his master. Valac is the demon president of hell, Parrish is a hell hound. I don't think either of them are evil. They are on the side of restoring balance. The dread doctors have their champion, La Bete, in Scott. Vallack has his champion in Parrish.
With the connection to Ouroboros, I’m starting to wonder if any of the experiments are actually dead.
According to wiki:
The ouroboros often symbolizes self-reflexive or cyclicality, especially in the sense of something constantly re-creating itself, the eternal return, and other things such as the phoenix which operate in cycles that begin anew as soon as they end. It can also represent the idea of primordial unity related to something existing in or persisting from the beginning with such force or qualities it cannot be extinguished.
Perhaps, they are all about to come back to life, and Parrish is going to be the one to do it.
We haven’t actually seen Parrish burn any of the bodies yet. The dream sequence that we saw in episode 4 was likely a premonition. In tonight’s episode, as Parrish carried the girl, you catch a glimpse of all the bodies surrounding the nemeton, just like in the dream.
I suspect that in the next episode Parrish will use his abilities to restore life to all the experiments.
Looks like the Doctors might have had a phoenix up their sleeves all along, and Theo just wasn’t in the know.
I still don’t know that I believe the doctors are directly controlling Parrish, but he’s certainly playing in their game.
I just wanted to tell someone this and your one of my fav Meta writers. that moment with Lydia & Parrish in the basement, a lot of people think that scene was sweet and romantic but to me I think what Parrish was seeing was Death disguised as Lydia and her saying stay with me was bringing him closer to death and when she went to kiss him, it was The Kiss of Death and luckily Sheriff pulled him out
I think this is yet another example of a scene that can be viewed and interpreted in different ways. TW is good a that.
I can see how you reached that conclusion. It does fit. Personally I’m not so sure though. As a banshee Lydia is associated with death but she usually either screams to signal someone is about to die, or she is drawn to someone who has already died, finding the bodies. This time it wasn’t really Lydia, rather a hallucination so the rules might not apply. But we haven’t really had any examples of seeing “grim reapers” before in this series. In mythology I don’t think banshees are considered “collectors” just “warners” of death.
Parrish had just been clawed by someone using enhanced talons designed to draw the life out of him. If Lydia was taking him with her to death, wouldn’t she say “come with me” - when she said “stay with me” I took that to mean he should fight to live.
Parrish: They did something to me. I don’t know how to describe it other than it felt as if the life was being drawn out of me through them.
What we do have though are examples of people hallucinating people they trust, who “anchor” them. We saw it with Derek when he was shot by Kate and he had a dream sequence with Stiles
We have a mortally wounded Kira in Mexico who hallucinates her mom giving her advice on how to heal.
And now we have Parrish, someone who is supernatural but without a clue what he is or how to access it. He wasn’t healing and in his helplessness he sees Lydia who have spent weeks trying to help him figure things out, telling him to “come with me” - is it to death? Or back to life? Tethering him and making him hold on long enough for the sheriff to get there?
I don’t know. I just find that it fits a pattern we’ve seen previously.
I'm kinda glad they make it obvious that Theo doesn't have good intentions - or not a nice person anyway. Otherwise, I would be thinking: Is he a good guy? Bad guy?? A creepy good guy that's terrible at social situations??? A weirdo?!
I agree. And yet I wouldn’t put it past Jeff to pull a double whammy on us and the twist is that Theo is actually good and wants to help, he just has to go about it in a creepy, bone-breaking, fake parents kind of way. I mean there just have to be some sort of shocking reveal this season, and we know what’s behind the dread doctor masks won’t be revealed until 5b.
Then again I think we have sleepers in our midst, someone who we believe is good but will turn out to be not so good after all, either because their “programmed” by whoever is behind the experiments, or they’ve been fooling us all along. I’ve been saying Parrish is too good to be true for a while now..
Did he really not notice Tracy leave the house?
Soo, what’s up with Sheriff and Parrish?
Did anyone else catch the dialogue when they bring Parrish into the hospital and Melissa asks “What happened, I thought you were keeping him on desk duty?”
Yeah, this suggests to me that at some point in these last six months, Parrish was out in the field, and something triggered his transformation. Parrish seems to get pretty aggressive when he’s shifting, and he doesn’t appear to be completely conscious of what he’s doing either. (This strongly suggests to me that Parrish is being controlled by someone else - Vallack? Whomever they are, they could be using Parrish as a weapon. Would make sense if Parrish happens to be the result of government experimentation in bio-weaponry.)
My guess, is that Parrish did something that ended up in someone getting hurt (possibly something with fire). But, Parrish has no memory of it happening. However, Sheriff knows and was possibly witness to the event, and he likely had to cover it up. Since then, he has tried to keep Parrish away from situations that might trigger his shift.
Whatever Parrish did, it has Stilinski pretty rattled. When Parrish is rousing at the hospital, he still looks like he’s in a dangerous trance. Sheriff, from experience, knows that Parrish can get out of control, which is why he doesn’t hesitate to pull his gun and aim at Parrish until Melissa stops him.
Oh, and Sheriff and Melissa are totally dating. I think Sherissa might be my favorite cannon ship at the moment!
RE: Credits Speculation post: the end shot looks a lot like Parrish, as opposed to Derek. I'm no experts but the body type looks right and we've all seen him totally blackened by soot last season and the flashes at the end of 501
Yeah, I realize it being Derek is most likely just my mind wanting Derek back so badly I’m willing to project him onto a supernatural experiment.. not healthy... and for those wondering, this is in relation to this post.
And yes, Parrish makes more sense. I’ve been speculating for a while now what he might just be part of their experiments. The fact that they can’t figure out what he is, might be because he’s a blend of different kinds, just like the werewolf with the alpha-spark sucking talons.
I also found it interesting how that “hybrid” recognized Parrish as “something” but not werewolf. Almost like a kindred spirit. And he did give him a chance to live, and even though Parrish refused to give up Scott, he still didn’t hit him with a blow that killed him instantly.
