It is my intent to find and surround myself with people who will shut off or at least put their phones away when they gather with me. There is nothing like connecting with people face to face in conversation and laughter without interruption or distraction. The excuses for needing to watch the phone every two to three minutes are exactly the same as 20 years or more ago and people still survived social time, family time, meal time, etc.. I know those people who can do this are very rare. It might be like finding a needle in a haystack but those people who value you, your time, and company are priceless!
