A/N: This is an old fic of mine from my old blog that I've rewritten to fit Hotch. I don’t know if I like it or not, but it’s written, so here you guys go :)
The bag and coat were thrown out of the front door. Your body shivered from the cool autumn air as you stood on the porch, looking back inside your home.
"Why are you doing this to me!? This is my home too!" Your voice shook, anger and anxiety apparent in your tone as you worried about where you would go. You had nowhere to go. And now, the only home you'd known for the past while was ripped from your hands.
You could feel the tears starting to spill from your eyes, scared, what were you supposed to do?
"Maybe if you'd paid your rent on time this month, this wouldn't have happened. It's written clearly in the contract: failed rent payment on time equals eviction." Your former roommate stated, crossing her arms over her chest as she scowled down upon your form. There was no emotion in her voice, no sense of remorse or care for you. Her well-trimmed brows, cared for more than any other life, were knitted together in a tight point.
"I just lost my job, you know how hard I've been trying to get something else sorted out. Just give me time, please!" You begged, desperate to be let back inside your apartment, although you knew that the possibilities were slim.
"Should I care about that? Rules are rules. Get the rest of your things by the end of the week or they'll go in the bin!" She slammed the door in your face, leaving you standing alone in the dark, dumbfounded by the sudden shock of what had just happened.
You'd hoped that she would've been more understanding due to the circumstances, but you were wrong, so so wrong.
With a heavy sigh, you made haste work of putting on the coat, trying to shield yourself from the wind. With the Holiday season slowly starting to creep up on you around the corner, it was getting increasingly harder and harder to find a new job, no one was hiring and everyone seemed even more desperate to make ends meet this time of year.
It was dark out, somehow she couldn't have waited until morning to kick you out, leaving you stranded on the streets all night, without an Inn or shelter open for new admissions at this hour of the day.
Walking through the streets, you couldn't shake the feeling that something was following you, maybe even a someone. And they were closing in, fast. But every time you dared turn around, all you managed to see was the sole of a shoe disappearing in the dark. You hoped innerly that it was just your mind playing tricks on you.
"Hello? Is anybody there?" You asked, unsure if that had been a good idea, to begin with, but what was done, was done. Now you just had to wait and see.
Not a single sound could be heard. You stood, steadfast under a streetlight, waiting a few minutes until you were sure that there was nobody out there, that no harm would come to you once you continued on.
When you picked up your steps, you felt that same unease rush over you, something cold and clammy, putting pressure on your chest. Your ears picked up on the sound of footsteps behind you, and yet again, you turned around to see nothing, nothing and utter nothing for what looked like miles.
"I'm only asking this once more... Is anybody out there? I'm not looking for any trouble." You said into the night, this time louder than before. Like the previous time, you received no answer.
You turned back around, feeling like you needed to get away. And fast. You stumbled into the arms of a tall figure, his chestnut eyes digging into yours, feeling like they were piercing through your soul.
"Hello there, gorgeous." His voice was deep, masculine, a rumble in his chest as he smiled down upon you, flashing you a glimpse of his pearly fangs in the light from above.
He clamped a hand over your mouth, sensing that you were about to scream, to call for help. He tightened his grip around your body, holding your struggling frame close to his as you were well on your way to tiring yourself out.
"Do not scream! I won't hurt you. Relax. Now! When I remove my hand, do you promise to keep your mouth shut?" He lifted a brow, the look in his eyes darkened. You were scared, slowly nodding your head as you waited for him to make the next move and remove his hand.
"Who are you?" Your voice came out in a whisper, breaking at every possible breaking point in the sentence.
"Oh my, where are my manners? My name is Aaron. I don't believe I've gotten yours yet, sweetheart." His voice was filled with sickly sweet condescending venom, as he apologized for his ever-so-rude approach. Aaron made sure to flash you another glimpse of his fangs, blinding you with their brightness.
"(Y/N)." You stated. It was like you had been hypnotized by him in some way. You didn't know what to do, how to react, how to get away. You were sure that he would harm you, kill you maybe if you didn't get away from him sooner rather than later.
"What are you?" You suddenly got the courage to ask, surprising yourself with the words that had spilled from your mouth.
Aaron couldn't help but chuckle at your response, a deep dark chuckle, sending shivers down your spine, it sounded evil. He looked away before answering your question.
"Well, darling. I thought by now that the sight of my teeth would've given it away, but you puny little humans never seem to see the obvious. You little brains can't handle such magnificent creatures as us." He sounded amused, the way his words rolled over his tongue, the way his tone pitched up and down to lead you on.
You tried snapping yourself out of your trance, shaking your head a bit before finally answering him.
"I... I..." You stuttered, trying to find the right words to say, to comprehend what it was that was happening. You placed your hand to the side of your face, trying to cool your cheek with your cold fingers.
"What's a pretty little thing like you doing out here, all alone and freezing?" He asked, cooing softly at you. Aaron took your hand away from your face, holding it in his large palm.
"Hoping to find somewhere to stay for the night." You sighed, not wanting to give him the full story as you cast your gaze to the ground. You didn't want to be caught in his magnificent eyes, hypnotized by his every word as he led you on.
Aaron gently grabbed your chin between his fingers, pinching it slightly as he lifted your eyes from the ground.
"You could stay at my place." He suggested. And although you knew it was wrong, that it was dangerous, that he was probably just out to drink your blood and leave you for dead, but his smooth tone made you believe otherwise.
"Okay." It caught you by surprise when you agreed. He took your hand, guiding you through the park and into the cemetery. And even though you were frightened, you couldn't help but feel safe from the pure confidence he was showing.
He led you between graves and headstones until you reached the other side. You couldn't recall the old cemetery ever looking like this on the other side of it, mapping the city out in your head, there was supposed to be a road and a museum here if you remembered correctly.
"How have I never seen this place before? I mean the city is not big enough to forget something like this." You questioned out loud, mostly to yourself, but Aaron took it upon himself to answer.
"Only vampires can enter and bring guests in. We don't like people snooping you see." Aaron only smiled as he dragged you across the street and up to the mansion-like house on the other side.
"Hotchner! Who's that little delicious human you've got there? Do you know the type yet?" Someone yelled across the house as the two of you entered. Aaron stiffened in his tracks as he heard the voice. You noticed the look of anger spreading on his face as he turned around on the spot.
"Stand down, Morgan. This one is mine. Go play with that Penelope of yours!" He hissed at the man approaching. His tone shifted, lower than you'd ever heard it before.
You couldn't help but take a step back, trying to hide away behind his broad frame.
Morgan looked angered by the dismissal and quickly retreated, already knowing full well what Aaron was capable of.
Aaron pulled you with him up the stairs, leading into what presumably looked like the master suite. He didn't want to talk to any of the others, nor did he want them to see you, not yet.
He slammed the door behind you, pushing you against the wall with brutal force as he caged you in between his arms.
"Wh... what are you doing?" You felt the rush of panic, unable to move like you were glued to the spot. You tried to push him away, but it was to no avail, all it did was make him grin at your poor attempt.
"Now the real fun begins!" He growled at you. You caught a glimpse of his eyes, they looked darker, eviler, and surely they looked like they were glowing red as well.
You wanted to get away, but it was too late.
His words rang in your head. He'd told you that he wouldn't hurt you, yet here he was, fingers digging into your neck, pushing your head to the side.
Aaron moved his face towards the juncture, nosing at the tender skin. He prodded his fangs against it, letting you feel the sharp pinch as he pierced them through your skin. They quickly found a vein, gulping some blood in him, tasting you.
You screamed out, reaching notes you'd never heard yourself let out before. Aaron's other hand clamped around your mouth, letting him have a drink in peace. You kept screaming and screaming and screaming until you realized that the pain was gone.
Opening your eyes, you were met with his cocky grin, a drop of your blood coloring his fang.
"How nice of you to carry my favorite type." He smiled, wiping his mouth with the back of his hand. "Now, that wasn't so bad, now was it?" He cooed at you, moving closer toward you, you shivered, backing as far back as you could manage.
"Why did you do that?" You were confused, dazy from the blood loss. Not knowing how you managed to, you slammed your fist against his hard chest. Aaron gripped your wrist tightly in his hand, firmly holding it, waiting for your attention to fall on his eyes.
"I had to do it. I could hear Morgan's steps in the hall. Rules are rules here, and this seemed better than draining and killing you, right?" He lifted a brow at you, waiting for you to say something back.
"So you were actually going to kill me?" You were frantic, hurt even, trying to stay calm as you waited for him to let go of your wrist.
"Of course not, sweetheart. It just had to look real enough to the others." Aaron wrapped his arms around your body like he had done under the street light earlier that night holding you close, rocking your bodies. You could tell that he was trying to soothe you, to calm you down before you'd have to emerge from your hideout in his room.
"The others? I'm not following." You furrowed your brows blinking slowly as you filed through every single thought in your brain. You only knew about Morgan and this Penelope girl that had been mentioned.
"You didn't think I was living alone in his massive house, did you?" He chuckled, slowly pulling you with him out of his room. He took you back down the stairs and into what could only be the living room.
In it, you spotted Morgan and a scrawny pale-looking guy and a funky-looking girl. Morgan seemed uninterested in the girl, whom you could only presume was Penelope.
"I'm back," Aaron growled as he made his entrance known. He dragged you with him to the lonesome chair in the corner of the room. Sitting you down in his lap. As much as you wanted to struggle, you didn't, already feeling how the power dynamic in the room shifted when you'd entered, how the two other vampires seemed subordinate and submissive to the large male.
"I see you brought fresh meat." The pale guy stated, tongue curling around his fangs, devouring you with his eyes as you sat perched in Aaron's lap.
"That's Spence, you already met Morgan and that's Penelope," Aaron whispered in your ear, dismissing Spencer's comment. He didn't want to get into a brawl with the young vampire, not when you were around. "Penelope is human like you."
"Now why don't the two of you go fetch us something to drink." Morgan pushed, sending the two of you on your way. With a gentle push from Aaron, you scurried out of his lap and followed Penelope into the kitchen.
You followed her movements, head lowered to the ground and shuffling away as quietly as possible.
"He marked you, didn't he? I heard your screams." She suddenly like she was about to cry at the mere thought of you being bit. It confused you. Surely, Aaron wouldn't lie about something like this, weren't they supposed to say when they were marking someone?
"Can I see?" She stuck a slightly shaking hand toward your neck, gently pushing the collar of your shirt away. She quickly noticed the perfectly spaced bite mark on your neck. "Omg, I'm so sorry that this happened to you."
"I don't think I understand any of this." You coughed out as the woman engulfed you in a bone-crushing tight hug, pulling you as close to her chest as possible.
"Honey, you can't leave now. You'll never be able to actually." Penelope cooed softly at you, having gotten that same mark herself a few years back. You stood still in the kitchen, looking as confused as ever, with the blankest expression she'd ever seen before.
"A clean neck, you get to go home. Fang marks, you can only leave accompanied by the vampire that claimed you. The gates to the cemetery simply won't let you pass through to the other side. Derek took me with him four years ago, and I've been trying to get out ever since." Penelope pulled you into her warm embrace, her sad eyes hidden away by the colorful frames of her glasses.
"The HELL I'm not." You hissed, as she let you out of her arms. It startled her a bit, making her jump in her spot.
"Everything alright out here?" You heard the familiar voice of your capturer from the frame of the door, watching him leaning against it with crossed arms and a smug smirk spread across his face. You couldn't contain yourself anymore.
"What the actual fuck did you do to me?! I was only supposed to stay for the night, shield me from the cold. And supposedly this fucking thing is chaining me to this hell hole, and I can't return without your stupid face." You growled at him, pointing to the red marks from his fangs as you moved closer and closer to him. Your face only got redder and redder with anger as you approached.
You let your fists slam down on his chest, sobbing out in frustration at what had been done to you.
"Oh darling, such a precious thing like you was too good to let go. Besides is it so bad, huh?" Aaron wrapped his arms around your struggling body, keeping a tight grip around you until your flailing limbs stopped hitting him and you started crying into his chest.
You hated how nice this felt, it was supposed to be bad, yet you found yourself being comforted by his strong arms.
"It's okay baby, let it all out. All you humans react like this the minute you found out. 'S perfectly normal." Aaron cooed at you, speaking as delicately and softly as he could, almost like he was talking to a small wounded animal. Like you were a pet, which was exactly what he had in mind. His little human pet.
Humankind was nothing but feral little animals to the vampire population, and they needed to be tamed, trained, and paraded around like the perfect pets that they were supposed to be.
"I just want to go home. Please." You pleaded, finding it in yourself to cast your eyes upon him.
"But this is your new home, baby. You've got Penny to play with. All the food and cuddles in the world. I'll make sure that you stay clean and healthy. I'll take real good care of you." He stroked your hair, trying to calm you down, even more, making you think that your stay would be the nicest thing someone, or rather something had ever done for you.
"Now, I think that my good pet deserves something nice to wear. Maybe a little collar will suit you nicely." He chuckled. You started struggling in his arms again as the realization hit, your eyes widening as you tried to get away.
"I'm not wearing a collar, Aaron! Let me go!" Your voice jumped a bit higher. But your struggling was to no use, Aaron was far too strong for you. In the corners of your eyes you caught a glimpse of Penelope, her head bowed down, revealing the pink lacey look of a collar around her neck.
You didn't know where it came from, but Aaron snatched something in the air, and you slowly started feeling the last bit of freedom slip from your mind. The collar was buckled tightly around your neck, barely leaving any room for you to breathe in.
This was your new purpose, nothing but a mere pet for your vampire. A pet that he could feed on whenever he wanted and treat however he liked.
You sunk to your knees as he released your body and disappeared back into the living room to the rest. You crawled around the island in the middle, hugging your legs to your chest.
Penelope rushed to your side, wrapping her arms around your body in an attempt to soothe your pain. She let you cry out, wishing that she could take away all the pain you were feeling.
"I'll be here, I promise. I know this must be awful to hear, but I know what this feels like. I'll help you adjust." She whispered, rocking your bodies back and forth as you tried to come to terms with your new predicament.
