(There is no special reason for me writing this, it's just something that popped into my head while reading the LN.) So, I remember reading stuff about people wanting/expecting Mika to turn Yuu into the vampire (for either plot or... romantical reasons). I've been thinking about that too a while ago, but after reading the LN I've gotten even more negative towards the whole matter. First of all: I'm not completely opposed to vampire!Yuu, mind you (probably for other reasons than most people haha). I actually like the idea. Ofc I know it would hurt his character badly and isnt good and all and yada yada but, I just really like vampires. What I am completely opposed to by now however is Mika turning Yuu into a vampire. Before you go scream at me, listen to my reasons.😔 The most obvious is of course... well, the obvious. Yuu hates vampires. Mika hates vampires. He plans on finding a way to turn Mika back into a human. This point goes for the entire vampire!Yuu thing, so I'm gonna skip the obvious stuff from the anime/manga. The first is Mika blaming himself for the rest of his (eternal) life. We dont know any circumstances, but I doubt either of them would be running at each other saying "Mika, turn me into a vampire!" "Yes Yuu-chan, I wanted to do just that!" We all know Mika is the type who likes to put all the blame on himself (or the humans lol), and I think Yuu being turned into a vampire by another person would be less painful for him. Then there's... the eternal life thingy. It isnt called a curse for nothing. Youre unable to die for all eternity. No matter how strong your emotions are in the beginning, at some point you'll get bored of it and stop caring. This means, no matter what the outcome will be, someday Mika and Yuu will stop caring about everything, including each other. Vampires forget how to feel love (I think they only remember what it felt like when they were still human, not sure here. Memory and actual feeling arent the same tho.). Mika and Yuu would never die. After hundred of years, maybe even thousands, they will turn out like every other vampire. (Thinking about how Mika will probably turn out like that since he's a vampire pains me.). Mika will probably also forget to care about how he was the one cursing Yuu like this, but... do you really want Mika to be the one to make Yuu suffer for all eternity? To make him kill humans because he has no other choice but to? To make him actually *stop* caring about killing humans? (Crowley stopped caring after only a few decades even though he was such a noble person. And he was older than Yuu.) Next point. As Ferid pointed out in the LN, vampires turn humans they want to have by their side into vampires. Good, that's fine and all. Except it isnt. The turned vampire will always be weaker than you. You wont be equal. If we go after the current known (just talking about the theories here) ranking, Mika would be considered an 8th and Yuu a 14th progenitor, which is a huge difference in power. We dont know what the seraph genes could do, but leaving that aside, I agree with Ferid that it probably isnt nice to have someone way weaker than you with you all the time. (they'll probably get bored even faster. Imagine Yuu's (no longer beating) heartbroken face when Mika turns away from him first. Both at the same time if at all, please.) This goes for vampire!Yuu in general again. At some point - in the far far away future - they'll end up either as demons or in stone for all eternity (shivers. This is horrible.) It's the only possible outcome. Maybe millions of years (lets leave out any kind of human revolution which could happen) later, although they'll probably have gone insane by then. Let's put it short. Even if Mika would grant Yuu eternal life (to be together with him forever or some stupid reason) it would only end in what it is in the first place; a curse. I can imagine Krul is planning on turning Yuu, and although what happens probably wouldnt be much different, at least it wouldnt have been Mika to do it to Yuu. (my personal favorite is still Ferid btw haha, turn Yuu please) These are just my thoughts on the matter. OnS is so amazing. Mika and Yuu are so amazing. Everyone is amazing. And I feel so terribly sorry for the vampires.
