Preview: The worst part was that you never tried to run. Jungkook never tied you down to anything or bound your wrists or feet. He simply knew that you would never try. It would be idiotic for you to try and run, you knew he was a talented tracker - he would be able to find you within minutes of your escape. There was nowhere to run and nowhere to hide from him, he would always be able to find you.
A/N: I am alive! This was entirely inspired by an ask that was sent to me so the entire reason this exists is because of the wonderful anons who have asked be about what has happened since the end of Predator and who have asked to see what a more lucid Jungkook would look like. I haven't had this much fun writing in such a long time. I'm sorry it's so short, I hope you can forgive me 💜
READ PART I - PREDATOR
_______
It was dark and quiet, the only sound being the steady, slow, drip of water hitting the dusty floorboards and the harsh chatter of your teeth as they clashed together.
You were freezing, your body trembling despite your best attempts to collect yourself. It was no use, no matter what you did you were never able to warm up anymore. You knew it wasn’t all that cold outside, but that didn’t really matter. Despite the chills that wracked your body there was a fine sheen of sweat that coated your skin.
You were unsure as to how much time had really passed since you had found yourself here. All of the days had begun to blend together like some horrible fever dream you simply couldn’t wake up from. The only constant in your life has become him.
If you didn’t know any better, you would think he was trying to kill you.
What was truly likely, was that this was a side effect of his treatment of you. It was very likely that he just didn’t know how to take care of a human. And despite your incessant pleading, he had told you that he would not kill you. So really, it was his own ineptitude that had you knocking on death’s door.
Your skin felt grimey, not entirely from lack of hygiene, but from the film of blood that coated your skin. It was all over you but it mostly dominated your cheeks, lips, throat, chest, and fingers. He was not violent when he claimed his feeds, but he was not necessarily gentle either. You hadn’t looked in a mirror for quite some time, but you were certain no amount of vampire blood would be able to seal your wounds with how often they were readily reopened.
This wasn’t a life, it was a slow and painful trek to the afterlife.
Your trembling increased as the front porch creaked, he was already back. Your head lolled backwards and hit the wall behind you in defeat. You couldn’t do this again, you couldn’t give him another part of yourself - this time you were certain that it would kill you.
Every time he fed from you, there was a horrible, delightful, exhilarating rush that followed. Whatever it was that he was doing to you, it was forcing you to enjoy the very thing that was killing you. It was perverse. It was disgusting. It was addicting.
It was hard to hate him in the throes of ecstasy, there was this horrible thrill that came the second before his fangs pierced his limb of choice as you knew you would be rewarded with bliss in the moments that followed. It was easier to hate him when he wasn’t there, his lack of presence giving your mind the briefest of reprieves to remind yourself of the horrible situation you were truly in.
The distance, however, didn’t seem to allow him the same clarity. If anything, it made him grow more needy, more irritated, and more clingy.
The door creaked open, and your time to yourself disappeared. Your body shook tenfold as his presence filled the room. He still looked the same as he did the first time you had come face to face with him. His clothes were worse for wear, even more blood stained and shredded than they had been before. There was a permanent coppery scent that surrounded him, the dried blood being the prime suspect.
You were certain that you didn’t smell that much better. Although, to a vampire, you probably would smell all that more enticing.
His gaze was immediately drawn to you, your eyes locking with one another, bridging the fifteen foot gap between you. His eyes often fluctuated in vibrancy depending on how hungry he was. The days where they were near black were the most difficult for you, but today they were a bright crimson red. He had fed on someone, someone who luckily wasn’t you.
“Hello little mouse,” He greeted, his voice low and surprisingly soft, devoid of the almost manic tone you had been familiar with for the longest time.
He began to close the distance between the two of you, his gait smooth as he approached you. The way he moved was unnaturally perfect, the silent power of a predator imbued in every muscle of his body.
He wordlessly dropped a bag in your lap as he sank down to the ground beside you, his wide, red, unblinking eyes staring at you, waiting for you to make a move. No matter how much time you have spent with him, his stare was still unnerving.
It took you longer than it should have to open it, your fingers trembling beyond your control. But Jungkook was patient, he has all of the time in the world to wait.
The scent of food hit your nose, your mouth watering and your stomach growling eagerly in response. From the color of his eyes and what he had brought you, you assumed he had decided to have his fill of a hiker instead of you.
Jungkook didn’t know how to take care of a human, that much was obvious. He had, however, been keenly aware of how much blood he was draining from your body on a daily basis. You had become so weak, anything but sitting felt like a herculean task nowadays. And the lack of consistent meals was weighing heavy on your body.
You didn’t care that he was watching you eat, your mannerisms ravenous and most likely off putting. But you no longer complained when he took his fill of you, and for some reason he remained silent and returned that courtesy.
You had noticed a shift in his behavior when that other vampire had found the two of you not that long ago. He knew Jungkook, from the way they spoke it appeared he knew him very well. This other vampire, despite how he appeared more human than Jungkook, frightened you just as much. You could tell from the curl of his smile to his confident gait that he was just as bad, if not worse, as Jungkook.
You had nearly fainted on the spot when he suggested the two of them share you, you were already tapped out as it was, Jungkook had fed on you that morning. The two of them, together, would kill you for sure.
To your surprise, Jungkook had not responded enthusiastically. He responded like an animal defending its territory - baring his fangs and growling in just barely contained rage. And that reaction had set off the other vampire and before you knew it they were a blur of limbs.
They moved so fast your human eyes could barely keep up with them. You were only able to focus when one of them threw the other giving you just enough time to watch them separate before they came back together again. The sound their bodies made when they clashed together was like thunder from what you could only assume was the pure force and strength they possessed. And, much like animals, they ripped and tore into one another with their teeth and nails.
By the time the two of them had finally separated for good, it was because of how much they had injured one another. The both of them were covered in wounds oozing black blood, some of which was their own, and some belonging to the other.
The other vampire, whom you had briefly heard Jungkook address as Hoseok, was tired but still enraged.
“Are you fucking serious? All of this for what, a pathetic little human?!” He yelled, his nostrils flaring in anger. “It’s food, Jungkook! I’m your brother!”
Your body flinched out of habit at the snarl that left Jungkook.
“With the rate that you’re going you’ll kill her anyways! Why does it even matter?!”
“She’s my human,” Jungkook replied, his voice low with warning.
“This isn’t even supposed to be about her! She’s nothing! Namjoon sent me to come and find you but you know what, I think I’ll let you deal with the consequences of your actions. It’s only a matter of time before he comes for you and when that happens, you're on your own!”
He disappeared quickly after that, it was like he was there one moment and then vanished the next. Once he was gone, Jungkook’s once sturdy stance softened, his shoulders bending forward from the strain of his own weight. He was hurt, badly.
He slowly turned to look at you, the red of his eyes and his dark mop of hair just visible over the curve of his shoulder. You knew that look, it usually didn’t end well for you.
“No, no, no, Jungkook, please!” You whimpered, scrambling backwards.
But it was no use, he never listened to you anyways. He always took what he wanted, even when you had nothing left to give.
He stumbled when he moved but he quickly regained his footing, his black blood stained hands grabbing you by the shins and pulling your retreating form towards him. You fought as hard as you could but you were already weak to begin with.
“Stop it, please!” You begged, but he didn’t listen. He wrapped his arms around you, his grip too tight and utterly uncomfortable.
“Jungkook-”
“Shut up,” He grunted before yanking your head roughly to the side and sinking his teeth back into the scarred skin of your neck. The shriek that left you was borderline inhuman, the building scar tissue made the intrusion all the more painful and Jungkook was not gentle.
And he had already taken so much blood the day before. It wasn’t long before your eyes rolled to the back of your head and you went limp in his iron hold.
That was the first time that Jungkook had given you vampire blood. You had almost died that day, you had gotten so close to finally being free of him and still he wouldn’t let you go. Even death wasn’t a great enough adversary for him.
When you had woken up after that attack, shocked that you managed to survive, you were met with those big, red, frightening eyes. The look on his face was the most serious you had ever seen it before, an odd clarity in his eyes that you were seeing for the first time.
He had been dreadfully quiet since then, speaking even less and shorter sentences than he normally did. You wouldn’t say he felt bad for what he did, but he had become increasingly aware of the inherent fragility that came with being human. He never apologized, but he had fed from you a lot less after that.
You froze mid bite as you felt his icy fingers graze your flesh, the coolness biting your skin and seeping into your veins. His touch was feather light, just barely there, but you went still beneath it anyways. You were incredibly aware of the strength that was concealed in that touch. He appeared unbothered by your response, his thumb smoothing over the curve of your jaw as he leaned in unbearably close.
You flinched at the feeling of cold metal being draped around your throat, his fingers clasping the material at the nape of your neck. It was a necklace. Your chest felt tighter, the food in your stomach quickly souring.
He was doing it again.
You were well aware of Jungkook’s strange and disturbing habit of taking mementos from his victims. His ears, wrists, neck, and practically every inch of his body were adorned with items he had stolen. You noticed he had an affinity for jewelry, but his jacket and boots had been taken from someone’s corpse as well. And, recently, he started bringing them back for you as well.
Your bloody fingers were littered with several rings, a bracelet on your right wrist, and your ears decorated in earrings - some of which he had pierced himself. And now, the necklace.
It left your stomach in knots when he did this, you couldn’t help but think about the bodies abandoned in the woods that he had slaughtered every time the metal glinted back at you. Each piece felt like another shackle keeping you at his side.
The worst part was that you never tried to run.
And so, you had become his plaything. His dinner and now his doll, a weak body that he could play with and decorate to his greatest desires whether that be with a corpse's jewelry, or a litany of scars.
“Pretty,” He said, his voice deceptively soft as he grazed the skin of your neck, his fingers moving from the clasp of the necklace to trace over the scarred imprints of his fangs and teeth.
You were thankful that he wasn’t hungry.
The odd, calm atmosphere between the two of you was quickly dissipating. Jungkook shifted away, agitation clear on his face as an annoyed growl parted his lips. You flinched back against the wall, scooting away to stay out of his path.
This wasn’t unusual - he had been having rapid mood swings lately.
The few moments of peace the two of you would share were often interrupted by the sudden pained twist of his features - his eyebrows drawing together and his nose scrunching in a snarl. It almost looked like he was in physical pain despite there being no signs of any injury.
And then, the pacing would start. It was like watching a caged lion sweep the perimeter of their enclosure. Back and forth, slow and menacing steps. It was like he was looking for something, or trying to guard the two of you from someone else. You hadn’t dared to ask what he was doing, to be entirely honest you tried your best to avoid initiating any interaction or conversation with him at all. The few times you did speak to him, it was usually to beg for him to leave you alone, pleas that often fell on deaf ears.
You didn’t know what to do with this. When you first “met” him, he had been sadistic, like a zealous child with more power than they knew what to do with. He had wanted to play his sick and twisted games with you and the plan had always been to gorge himself on your blood and leave your mangled corpse deep in the forest to wither and return to the earth. That was what was familiar to you, that was what you were expecting.
You were never supposed to live, that had been an unfortunate circumstance, a split decision he made to prolong your torture and pain. You didn’t know what you were supposed to do with this suddenly quiet, confused, and barely human creature in front of you. One that would rip open your flesh to feed just as soon as he would leave bruising kisses on your lips and throat, painting the flesh a rich red that was left to rust.
You were waiting for him to snap, waiting for it to all finally be over. But that would be luck, luck that you didn’t have. He had promised you, so long ago, that you would never be alone again, that he would keep you. And you have suffered the consequences ever since.
When he said your name you felt your blood freeze over. He had never said your name before, you didn’t even know that he knew it. He had always called you that horrific pet name, his little mouse.
You wrapped your arms around your legs, pulling them into your chest in an attempt to feel some sense of security as he continued to speak.
“We’re leaving soon.” He said, the words simple but the expression on his face ever so complex. Reluctance, frustration, pain, anxiety.
You swallowed, but did not move. The silence was deafening. But, by the look on his face, you knew that he was waiting for your response. You would have to break the stalemate.
“Are you…taking me home?” You dared to ask, your heart thundering in your chest as that predatory gleam returned to those red eyes.
“No,” He growled, his jaw clenched as his fangs ground against his lower set of teeth, “You’re not going back there, ever.”
Your heart shattered.
“I’m being called back to my home.”
His home? This was the first that you were hearing of it, you never stopped to ask yourself if he had a home. You couldn’t picture it even if you tried, it was a puzzle piece that simply didn’t fit. You had always assumed he was simply a nomadic creature that moved as he hunted. And, due to his supernatural nature, it seemed that he never needed the typical human necessities and comforts such as four walls and a roof.
You knew he had some sort of family at the very least. You had, after all, had the displeasure of meeting Hoseok who had referred to himself as his brother. And he had mentioned the name Namjoon, the phrasing suggesting a hierarchical structure. But even the notion that he had a family felt just as mismatched. And how ironic it was that he was returning home to a family he didn’t even want, and he wouldn’t let you go home to the family that you missed so much.
“And that’s bad?” You hesitantly asked, flinching as he growled in frustration.
“It’s worse than bad!” He yelled, his hands sliding through his hair in stress, “It was difficult enough fending Hoseok off, but all six of them? You’re as good as dead.”
Hope.
“Then…don’t go?” You said, although it sounded more like a question. By the way he was acting, it was like returning was not a choice.
“If only it were that easy,” He laughed, the sound bordering on being unhinged. “I can’t ignore it, if I’m called I have to answer. If I don’t it becomes more and more persistent. It feels like a cord that grows tighter and tighter until it pulls and my body moves on its own and takes me back.”
That explained the pacing, the restlessness his body had been experiencing. He had been trying to redirect it by walking the perimeter of the decrepit cottage but it had been a temporary fix to the problem. You could only assume that he was getting to the point now where his body was ready to return against his will.
How horrible it was, to be someone’s unwilling puppet. You knew that feeling all too well.
You didn’t know what you were supposed to tell him. There were no choices to be made by the two of you. He would have to return, and he wouldn’t leave you here on your own as he knew you would be given the greatest opportunity you have ever had to leave him. So, he would have to take you with him right into the lion’s den where you would undoubtedly be consumed.
He was mumbling to himself now, his pacing becoming more frantic and much faster, your human eyes struggling to keep track of him. You were sure that he was moving so fast he would wear down the old floorboards beneath him and the soles of his beat up boots.
You could only assume that meant the call was becoming even stronger. Before - it was asking, now it was commanding.
You had never seen him so frantic before, those wide blood red eyes unblinking and shifting back and forth faster and faster as his thoughts raced. It was borderline demonic, like something you would see during a paranormal movie or an exorcism. It was terrifying.
You began to scoot back as far away as you could until your spine was flush with the wall behind you. You felt better with some part of you concealed from the open, but that did little to calm your racing heart and the creature that raged in front of you.
What was he so afraid of, so panicked by? You couldn’t imagine anything scaring him, not with how terrifying he was on his own. What could be so bad, so scary, that it frightened a monster? You weren't sure you wanted to find out, even if it meant you could finally feel the sweet embrace of death and escape him once and for all.
Jungkook finally came to a stop, his body still but his eyes continued to move erratically. And then they too settled, and a look of deadly calm settled over them. He had decided something, and you were certain that whatever his decision was it wouldn’t be good for you.
“They wouldn’t,” You heard him mutter to himself, “Not if I put a fail safe if place.”
A fail safe?
Before you could even blink he had moved across the room, faster than your eyes could track. Your body had been ripped away from the wall and set in between his legs, your spine pressed against his chest, the both of you seated on the ground.
An uncontrollable wail shook your body, the sound emanating a feeling of pure hopelessness. You had been surprised it came out of you, but you knew why. You were terrified he was going to feed from you again.
His one arm was wrapped around your ribs, his legs tensed and forcing your own to squeeze together. He had immobilized you, there was nowhere else you could go and no way to escape him.
Your entire body shook and heaved with hysterical breaths as you writhed in his grip. “Please, please don’t do it again I can’t take anymore of this!”
He hushed you, his free hand brushing over your hair in a surprisingly gentle manner. It was more like someone who was trying to calm a startled stray animal than anything else. His touch moved to your chin, lightly taking hold of the point where your neck and jaw bone met.
He didn’t say anything, instead he forced you to look at him, turning your face so that he could look directly into your eyes. And then, to your shock and horror, he plunged his fangs into his own wrist and ripped the flesh wide open. A torrent of thick, viscous, black blood rolled down the pale flesh of his forearm. And before you could do or say anything he grabbed you by your hair and jerked your head back before pressing his open wound to your mouth.
You gagged at the smell and taste, tears blurring your vision as you tried to move your head away but he did not budge. His arm around your ribs finally moved but only to help him pry your jaw open and force the blood flow down your throat. He continued to hush you as he forced you to drink, gently rocking your body in stark contrast to the harsh and violent hold he had you in.
“Just relax,” He whispered against the shell of your ear, “The more you struggle, the longer I’ll keep you here. We need to get as much of my blood as possible into your system.”
You were crying even harder now, the salt of your tears slipping between his wrist and your lips and mingling with his blood in your mouth. What had you ever done to deserve this? What horrible thing had you done in some past life to deserve this kind of punishment?
You just wanted to go home. You wanted your mom and dad, your grandparents, and the gentle comfort of your bed in your childhood room. You wanted that life back, and you were never going to have it again.
His harsh grip on your jaw loosened as you went limp in his arms, resigning yourself to your inescapable fate. His hand returned to those soothing strokes against your hair, a low hum in his chest vibrating against your back as he watched you feed from him with a curious gaze. You were such a weak little thing, you needed him more than you would ever understand.
You hiccupped pathetically when he finally removed his wrist from your mouth after what felt like hours. Your lips and chin were stained black from the blood he spilled when you had struggled. He stared at you again, curiosity evident in his gaze, as he leaned forward and licked the flesh of your lips, tasting his own blood.
You shivered as he made a soft hum, cocking his head to the side before doing it once more, stroking over the bitten and chapped skin with his tongue as he transitioned into kissing your battered lips in a grotesque act of intimacy. He laughed against your mouth as you weakly pushed against his chest, he was amused by your pathetic attempts to push him away. It only encouraged him to kiss you harder and deeper, sampling the taste of his own blood straight from your mouth.
Once he was satisfied he finally allowed you to breathe, a devious gleam in his eyes that you had not seen in a long time.
“They won’t be able to kill you for a while now, not unless they want another vampire to worry about.” He said. He was gloating, reveling in the win his family had no idea he had already achieved.
Your blood ran cold, your body freezing at his revelation. The very thing you craved, your own death and by association freedom from him, would be the very thing that would trap you with him for the rest of eternity. If you were killed with his blood in your system, you would become one of them. He truly had taken everything from you, even the dignity of your own death. Your life was his and his alone.
He really was a monster.
His features suddenly twisted in pain, his head jerking to the side as he released a low and threatening growl. The call was becoming even stronger, the most intense it had ever been. There was no more delaying it. They had to go, and they had to right now.
He quickly lifted you into his arms as his body began to move on its own, forcing him to begin to move in the direction of his home. There was nothing more that you could do, all you could do was remain limp in his arms. It was over, there was point in fighting anymore.
He had finally broken you.
When he stepped outside you were shocked by the fresh air and the cold weather. Then again, you always feel cold now. The clouds were thick today, the sun hidden behind their cover. It had been so long since you were outside, and even longer since you had been in the sun - that wouldn’t change in the near future. But what truly shocked you, was that the world went on without you. The seasons continued to change, the flora continued to flourish and then decay. The cycles continued while you were stored away. How cruel the world was to keep going on as you withered away.
You leaned your head against his shoulder, shielding your face from the harsh wind as he began to move faster, running at his impossibly fast pace that no human could ever wish to match. How had so much changed? When did you go from human being to a play thing for a monster like him. You had a life, but now it had become inconsequential, toyed with and thrown away like it never even mattered.
What were you supposed to do now? At the end of the day, it didn’t really matter. He had won, he had played his sadistic stupid games with you, and he had won. He had broken you. You tucked your chin into your chest and like the pathetic creature that you were you whimpered.
You cared about what was going to happen next. If Jungkook had been wrong, then the two of you walking into the proverbial lion's den would end with you turning into one of them, a fate worse than any other that you could imagine. To be tied to him for all of eternity would be your personal hell on earth.
What would they do to you when you got there? Would your death before your next life be slow and torturous, or quick and merciful? Would it be planned and intentional, or accidental?
Jungkook began to slow, his fast pace relaxing into a natural walk. The tension that previously rested in his body had begun to dissipate. You could only speculate this was the relief of obeying the command to return home. His control over his own body was slowly but surely coming back to him the closer the two of you came to his home.
He stopped for a moment, placing you down on your own two feet before he took hold of your wrist and forced you to follow after him. Your knees wobbled beneath your weight, unaccustomed to you standing after being curled up in a ball in that abandoned shack for the longest time. You looked more like a baby fawn learning to walk than you did that meek little mouse Jungkook always thought you were. He, however, paid little attention to you at that moment. He was tense, his body in a state of alert as subtly surveyed the area as you continued on.
He could sense something that your dull human senses weren’t entirely picking up on. However, the hair on the back of your neck prickled and your gut twisted as you felt phantom eyes digging into your body.
Someone, somewhere, was watching you.
A building began to break through the cluster of trees. A modern, contemporary house in the middle of the forest was coming into view. This was the last place you thought of when Jungkook had mentioned his home. In all honesty, you would have been less surprised by a crypt and a row of coffins.
In front of the house, stood a man. His arms were crossed in front of his chest, his eyes that familiar shade of deep burgundy, the same shade the monster’s eyes were when he was hungry. This sent chills throughout your body, your entire being sensing the danger in the vampire that stood across from you.
Those burgundy eyes swept towards you, a look of shock and confusion discoloring their once calm gaze that you speculated was rarely rattled. His features twisted as he took in the state of you, the dried human and vampire blood that coated your body in thick layers, the dirt that was caked into your clothing, your hair that needed to be washed, and the smattering of scars that decorated your body and glistened in the cloudy daylight.
You were barely human anymore, you were a walking corpse.
“You called me home, Namjoon.” Jungkook simply said, his body moving to shield you from the other vampire's gaze.
“Jungkook,” Namjoon said, utter disbelief tinging his words, “What are you doing to her?”
In every possible scenario you had conjured in your mind, this had not been one of them.

The world had become so dark since the day those bloodsuckers took over, a town that was so full of life was ruined because of people like them and you were amongst the ones that wished you could do something about it but were too scared of them.
Maybe if you hadn’t seen how cruel they could be then you wouldn’t be as petrified but you could still hear the screams from you friends as they were dragged away in the night while you hide behind a dumpster with your hands over your ears wishing that they would stop screaming.
You knew to some that would seem so disgusting, how could you do that, but you were paralyzed with fear that night and to this day you regret it and you promised that same day that you would stay as far away from vampires as possible and obey their orders.
It was the only way you would survive.
.
.
Once a year the vampire kings would allow us humans to have a day off from being so fucking scared of them, and on that day mostly everybody did the same thing they would all usually go see their family members that they had been separated from at the beginning of the overtaking. But just like every year you went to a unalike place, it was the only place that you could go that would help you forget about your pain and struggles as a human.
The Bar
Any other time of the year you would be killed walking into this bar but since the vampires weren’t really allowed to kill today you were safe, besides you had been doing this for years so why would this year be any different. As you walked in all eyes were immediately on you, even though you came in every year at the same time the same vampires would look at you like you were this foreigner creature.
“Can I have Bloody Mary but without the blood please” you asked the bartender nicely as you sat at the counter patiently waiting for your drink, the bar slowly picked up in noise again as the vampires slowly forgot your existence and it was only then that you were truly able to relax and enjoy your drink.
You were on you fifth drink of the night and you knew you should be heading home even though vampires weren’t allowed to kill today it hasn’t stopped them from doing so before and you really didn’t feel like being a 5 course meal to a group of hungry vampires. As you walked towards the door you realized that the V.I.P area of the bar had a decent amount of security which was unusually but you could care less so you made you way out, the cold air gently hit your face as you took a deep breath and slowly let the thoughts in your mind go.
As you carefully walked towards you living area you were on high alert anything could happen to a human girl walking the streets alone at this time of night, a loud scream quickly made you cover your mouth and hide behind the nearest thing which just so happened to be a dumpster “Fucking great” you said in your mind as you immediately slowed your breathing so much so that it would be hard for a vampire to pick up on the only thing you were having a problem with was calming your fast beating heart.
While you were working on quickly calming yourself down you heard another scream followed by high heels clicking fast down the road right in front of the dumpster curiosity got to you so you carefully peeked you head out from behind your hiding spot and you honestly wished you hadn’t
.
.
.
You watched as a young woman ran down the street but was stopped by a man who had suddenly appeared in front of her she quickly turned around and tried to go the other way but she was stopped again but this time by a different man. Thinking she was all out of options she turned towards a dark alley and was going to go that way which just so happened to be the same alley you were hiding in, her eyes met yours and you could see the fear and hope shining in them she mouthed a quick “help me” before she was grabbed from behind by another man. He wasted no time sinking his sharp fangs into her neck she tried to scream again but was cut off by the unknown man putting his hands around her neck snapping it instantly, her dead eyes met yours again and you realized you were too late.
You saw that one of the vampires had a tattoo but it wasn’t just any tattoo it was the one that only 7 vampires had, 7 of the most feared supernatural begins on the earth, the 7 vampire kings who were not only best friends but were also lovers. All thoughts of possible making it home in once piece left your mind so you turned around and put your back against the dumpster, defeated, why does it seem like these things only happen to you.
“What if Joonie finds out about this” you heard one of the vampires say quietly “Jungkookie it’s okay he knows that we need to eat don’t worry about it baby” you knew that name anywhere Jungkook was the youngest of all of the seven vampires and only his lovers call him Jungkookie he was said to be the nicest one but you had seen him snap an innocent humans neck in half to you all seven of them were monsters.
You waited until you thought they were gone to make sure you peeked your head around the dumpster and saw no one not even the girl but you figured they had taken her with them, you stood up and quickly made your way back to your shelter but before you could you were stopped by a sudden voice behind you…

We walked from the hallway we were at, people were still clearly enjoying the atmosphere, and the free champagne. I looked down at our hands that were entwined. It felt so strange.. But right. ‘‘Go talk to people, I’m gonna find my brothers.’‘ Jimin said to me with a smile, lightly kissing my cheek before walking away. ‘‘What the fuck’‘ I thought. It’s so weird him treating me like this. That’s when I felt a hand grab my arm and spinning me around.
‘‘Taehyung, what the hell? You scared me.’‘ I said with a slight frown, but slightly amused. Taehyung looked serious though. ‘‘Come with me for a minute.’‘ he said, pulling me away from the crowd of people around a corner, out of sight.
‘‘What’s going on Tae? Is everything okay?’‘ I asked with my eyebrow raised.
‘‘You need to be careful with him.. Just trust me’‘ he said, his voice completely serious.
‘‘Why? What’s going on?’‘
‘‘..I.. I can’t tell you. There’s just something about him not a lot of people know’‘ he stated. Taehyung moved towards my face, ‘‘What happened to your lip? he asked, completely confused about the cut on my lip.
I shrugged, ‘‘Jimin bit my lip too hard.. Why does it matter?’‘
Taehyung’s eyes widened. ‘’What? Did your lip bleed?’’ I nodded, ‘’Yeah why?’’
He hung his head low, shaking it slightly. ‘’You know don’t you? About him..?’’ Tae asked and I nodded.
‘‘Yeah, I do. I’m guessing you do too then’‘ I said, ‘‘but how?’‘
‘‘It doesn’t matter how I know.. It just means it’s too late’‘ he said looking back up at me.
‘‘Too late? Too late for what?’‘
‘‘y/n?!’‘ I heard Jimin calling me, I turned and looked and there he was. Jimin stood up straighter, so did Taehyung. Jimin tried walking towards me but Taehyung stepped in front of me. What the fuck is going on.
‘‘Is she the first? You fed from her didn’t you?’’ Taehyung’s voice was gruff
‘‘Why does it matter if she is?’‘
‘‘You know exactly why. Is she the first?’‘ Tae asked again, his voice even rougher than before.
‘‘She is,alright!? Get over it!’’ Jimin snapped. Taehyung shook his head, clearly pissed off. ‘’Fuck you Park!’’ he shouted pushing Jimin back a few steps, ‘’Does she even know what that fucking means?’’
‘‘What does it mean?’‘ I asked, but clearly not being heard.
‘‘No. She doesn’t. She just found out about it, how the fuck would I have time to tell her? It was a fucking accident’‘ Jimin snapped back at him. Taehyung just shook his head, ‘‘Fuck you Park’‘ Taehyung said just as he walked away.
I looked at Jimin, my eyebrows raised.
‘‘What the fuck was that about?’‘ I asked, ‘‘What does he mean?’‘
Jimin shook his head and looked down. ‘‘I.. It was an accident..’‘ he paused and ran his hand through his hair. ‘‘The first person a vampire feeds from.. They.. They’re marked..’‘
‘‘Marked? What the fuck does that mean?’‘
‘‘..It means you’re mine.. and not just in the arranged way.. Your blood is the first human blood I have, so technically I’m marked too. We’re bound.. forever.’‘
You wake up to the sweet moonlight seeping through your window, it was a full moon tonight and you usual loved it, but at this moment you didn’t like it very much. Groaning at it you cover your head with the blanket and turn around hitting a soft lump whilst doing so. The lump moves around a bit and strong arms hug your waist, pulling you closer to the strong chest you knew too well. Wet lips kiss your neck gently, going from your jaw to your neck to your collarbones.
You mumble something incoherent hearing a deep chuckle follow after it. You could feel the tip of a nose on your ear and hot breath breathed down on it.
“What was that, (y/n)?” Your boyfriend, Namjoon, asks.
You know he’s teasing you since he can, quite literally, read your mind. You see your boyfriend isn’t like any other boyfriend out there, sure he’s sweet and caring and loves you so freaking much, but he’s also a vampire. And no this isn’t some story where you found out and were shocked with the fact he was a supernatural creature, quite the opposite actually. You knew he was a vampire way before you even met him in real life.
Namjoon is an idol. Along with the rest of his members. They make up a group called BTS, and like your Joon the other six members are also vampires. You’ve been a fan of theirs ever since you came across them on YouTube, which was four years ago. You meet Namjoon two years ago at a fansign, after the fansign he asked you to hang out and a little magic afterwards and you’re dating one of the biggest idols on the planet. You were kept a secret for a while, but Namjoon managed to pursue his managers to reveal you to the public.
“Answer me, (y/n).” Fuck, his morning voice. You tried to convince him to produce with his morning voice, yet he always refused saying how his morning voice is for your ears only, which was very sweet but you know the song would be a bop.
“Stop waking me up.” You whine silently, still trying to get some sleep in.
You heard his chuckle again and felt lips on your cheek.
“But I like waking you up,” he gave you another kiss, “I like your little whines and cute morning voice.”
“It’s midnight, asshole.”
“Okay, then your cute midnight voice, better?”
You groaned as you turned around and cuddled up to him. “No, because you still woke me up at midnight.”
Namjoon wrapped his arm around your shoulder, running his fingers up and down your naked arm. This always caused goosebumps to appear on your skin but you liked the feeling of his fingers.
“But baby it’s the full moon.” Namjoon’s deep voice whispered seductively in your ear. You squirmed a bit, you knew damn well what full moon meant. For vampires every full moon means their usual urges and senses are heightened, they call it the mating season whereas you call it the horny season. Every month you’ve been hit on by different vampires who only wanted to get their hands in your pants and fangs in your neck.
Now that you started dating Namjoon he becomes very protective and possessive of you, especially when you two go out, which usually results with you two staying at home and ordering take-out.
“And so what if it is the full moon?” You teased. It wasn’t hard guessing what he wanted, needed, but you weren’t going to let him get it without a little struggle. Namjoon grumbled and suddenly he was gone, you looked around to see where he was. “Namjoon? Babe?”
He propped his head from underneath the blanket, his red eyes watching yours intensely. Wait, red eyes. Not his sweet, slightly glowing brown eyes, but blood red ones. Guilt somewhat overcame your chest, if his eyes were red already that must’ve mean he was holding back for a while now. You pressed a hand on his cheek, Namjoon instantly sinking into your touch as you guided his face closer to yours, kissing him deeply.
He responded immediately, kissing you back hungrily, hooking his fingers in your hair. You pulled away, much to his displeasure, and gave him a wide smile. You looked into his eyes, “Fuck me, daddy.” Your boyfriends gaze widened as his orbs dilated at your boldness, but he soon turned into the same cocky man he does when you two are making love.
“You want daddy, babygirl? You want daddy to fuck you? You need to be filled by daddy don't you?” He was the one teasing now, but you knew you kinda deserved it, yet you decided to play along.
“Yes daddy, please. Fuck me hard. Fill me up.” You were inching closer to him, throwing your legs across his lap, slowly grinding into it. He placed his hands on your hips, although instead of guiding you in your grinding he stopped and tossed you on your tummy, earning a low whine from you.
“Not yet baby, first you need to do something for daddy.”
You whined again, lifting your ass in the air for any kind of friction or touch from your boyfriend. You felt his crotch and hard erection right on your butt cheek, his breath ghosting over your neck, his fangs brushing over the sensitive skin making you feel things your family would probably not approve of. His lips climbed up your neck to your ear where he pulled on it with his teeth before he whispered in it, "Keep on whining babygirl and daddy will have to punish you for it."
You slumped back on the bed as you waited for Namjoon's next turn. You heard his feet shuffling on the floor and in an instant you were turned on your back, looking into his captivating red eyes as his hands roamed your body freely. You followed his hands as they left your body and slowly took of his boxers, revealing his thick, long member. He gave himself a few strokes before calling you over with his finger.
"Come here and suck daddy off baby."
You quickly went down on your knees, inching closer to his cock and taking it in your soft hands pumping him before gently taking him into your mouth. Namjoon caressed your hair absently guiding your head further down his dick. You tried your best to swallow him whole but he was just so big, you tried not to choke on him so you relaxed your throat as best as you could and kept going down using your hand to pump the rest of his length.
You bobbed your head on his member, stopping at the top to swirl your tongue on its head earning low growl-like moan from your boyfriend.
"Keep doing that babygirl," he took in a sharp breath as you started bobbing your head again, "you're making daddy so proud."
His other hand found its way into your hair as Namjoon threw his head back from the pleasure he was receiving. He started to slowly move his hips, fucking your mouth delicately and hitting the back of your throat which brought tears to your eyes. "Ahh..damn baby if you keep going like this," he swallowed hard, "I-I won't be able to last long."
You put your palms against his thighs, moving away from his throbbing erection you looked him in the eyes before saying, "then fuck me right now."
He didn't waste any time in picking you up and showing you onto the bed, crawling on top of you like a hungry animal. He licked your neck teasingly knowing it was the most sensitive part of your body. Excitement filled your system as you yet again felt his prickly fangs, you moaned at the feeling of them, awaiting the high that came with a vampires bite and when it was the full moon the endorphins were also heightened.
"Moaning at the feeling of my fangs huh baby?" You moaned back in agreement which made your boyfriend chuckle. His face was soon back at your neck and it wasn't long until you felt the familiar feeling of his fangs penetrating your skin, both of you sighing in bliss. Namjoon was gone far too fast for your liking, but once you saw that his finger was red, your blood almost dripping from it you gave him a confused look.
"Take your clothes off babygirl. I want to see you in all of your glory."
You did as you were told, stripping out of your pyjamas then laying back down on the bed. "Tsk, tsk, tsk. Babygirl," his voice was so deep and husky it made your core ache, "I said in all of your glory." You swallowed a small lump in your throat as you slipped out of your bra and panties, casually throwing them aside. Namjoon grabbed your panties and teasingly showed them to you.
"Look at how dripping you already are, making a mess in your panties." He threw them on the floor and brought his bloodied finger on your stomach, drawing a line with it. Namjoon brought his face down in your stomach and licked the blood clean. You didn't know why but his actions turned you on even more, you were feeling yourself dripping down on the sheets.
"Daddy please, I can't wait anymore," you squirmed in your position trying to get closer to him. You felt his big hand in your inner thigh caressing it lovingly, you'd whimper whenever you felt his fingers close to your core.
"You really need me that bad, princess?" You nodded whilst biting your lip, "Alright, then daddy will give it to you."
Namjoon positioned himself and in one swift moment he was in, both of you sighing at finally getting what you desired. His thrust were slow and gentle at first and you could tell he was holding himself back to not hurt you, however the words you said to him changed his actions.
"Faster daddy, I want it harder."
And it was like something snapped in his mind because he started going faster and harder, throwing your legs over his shoulders so he could go deeper. "Ahh fuck! R-right there Joon!" You screamed once his cock hit your G-spot.
"Mmm babygirl, you feel s-so good, so...tight. Ohhm." Sweat was evident on both your bodies, moans getting more frequent with his every thrust.
"D-damn I'm gonna cum, ahh...fuck."
"Mmm ohh, me too daddy."
In just a few more thrust you and Namjoon were cumming, your walls tightening around him as his white warm cum filled you up. Namjoon gave a couple of more thrust to help you ride your highs out. He laid next to you, making you turn to him with a big smile, giving him a soft peck on the lips.
"That was...amazing." He gave his famous dimple smile. You cuddled into his chest, "It really was."
He was petting your hair making you sleepy again. He whispered to you, "Aren't we going to clean this up?"
You dismissed his words by cuddling closer to him and saying, "That's morning Namjoon and (y/n)'s problems." You boyfriend gave a low chuckle agreeing with you. Kissing your head you both went back to sleep.

Preview: Your eyebrows furrowed as you peered over your shoulder. Sure enough, there were a few dark eyes staring back at you - but there was one pair in particular that really caught your attention. There was a man in a roped-off section of the club, a velvet curtain drawn to the side to reveal him seated on an ornate chair. He looked like a king watching over his people, and you meant that not only because of his position but because of his features as well. It was undeniable that he was the most attractive person in the room, hell, the most attractive person you had ever seen. Smooth pale skin, plush lips in a permanent pout, dark eyes, and the widest set of shoulders with a slender waist. He was a work of art. He had this look on his pretty features as if he had just tasted something bitter, and that look was directed behind you.
A/N: I have been working on this fic since July and I am so happy that it is finally done and you guys will be able to read it! I think this is one of my favorite installments of the series! I hope you enjoy the fic and as always I can’t wait to see you in my inbox and my comments. Ily 💜💜💜
Kim Seokjin had not only a pretty face but a brilliant mind as well.
At least, that’s what he told everyone.
If there was a singular sin that he could fully encompass it would be vanity. And the sin that he shared with nearly everyone in his “family” was that of pride: a deadly and violent mix. That blend was what led to his damnation.
He knew that he deserved only the best and nothing less, that was exactly how he had been raised when he was still human. In the late 1800s, he had been granted the privilege of being born into high-class society as the eldest son, the heir to the Kim legacy. Everything he wanted was directly at his fingertips and at his disposal. From the moment he was born he was guaranteed power, and that was something he wished to never lose.
As the heir to a luxury wine company, it was only expected that alcohol, parties, and lewd behavior were set to follow him, and he exceeded those expectations. But he was good at keeping business and pleasure as two distinctly separate functions.
And with the life he lived, it was not often that individuals met his expectations. And by individuals, he meant potential wives. Naturally, it was expected of him to marry and continue the family's legacy. But the gold spoon that he was born with in his mouth tainted the pool. No one was good enough for him and that caused much strife within the family.
He was well past the age of marrying at twenty-eight years old. He was beginning to feel the pressure his father and mother were putting on his shoulders. And, not to mention, he was well aware that he was aging. Of course, he would never admit that his looks were fading. There was not a crease in his skin or a gray hair to be plucked, but he could feel it. He could see the minute imperfections that no one else could. It made his skin crawl in disgust.
And then Kim Namjoon entered the frame and everything began to come together.
His mother had insisted on organizing yet another party to find him a wife under the guise that he was there to make several important business deals. But when the vast majority of partygoers were young women with stars in their eyes he knew what was really going on. And of course, he was not going to stick around and socialize with subpar candidates. If he were going to do that it would be restricted to his bedroom, of course.
Namjoon had come to that party that night, Yoongi in tow despite his protests. Namjoon was a cultured man, he liked to mingle with the members of high society from time to time. It helped him learn what was appropriate for the decade as trends (in manners, clothing, and amusement) came and went rapidly. And those who belonged to the upper class were those who set those trends. It was strategic and it helped his kind blend in as seamlessly as possible.
And Jin was the epitome of a high-class man.
And so, Namjoon and Yoongi befriended him. It hadn’t been hard for them, they had been around for so long that they fit right in. And Jin had merely thought he found more of the few people that could meet his high expectations - his small inner circle growing with two new additions. But of course, that friendship had started out with the purpose of using Jin for what he had.
So in turn, he used them.
While Jin had a pretty face, he actually was quite smart and observant. He took note of his companions' odd behavior. He never saw them during the daytime, only in the veil of the night. They had the oddest colored eyes - not quite black but a deep shade of burgundy like the embers of a smoldering fire laid within their depths. And they were cold, absolutely frigid to the touch like a corpse. It didn’t take him very long to piece together what they were, and it was only proven true when he caught the both of them feasting on lifeless corpses in his guest room. He timed everything just perfectly to discover their true nature.
Yoongi had seemed genuinely surprised, bloody lips parted in shock as he stood as still as a statue, the limp body still collapsed in his iron grasp.
Namjoon, on the other hand, was smiling. He too was not able to conceal his nature any longer but he wasn’t trying either. He took his time and continued to finish his meal despite the obvious living human presence in the room.
“You two have been holding out on me,” Jin said with a disappointed tone.
“Holding out?” Namjoon echoed before relaxing his arms and allowing the corpse to slip down to the floor, the thinnest drizzle of blood pooling onto the parquet flooring.
Yoongi could only stare at the both of them, his eyes darting back and forth between the two other men.
“Yes, holding out! You are immortal are you not?”
“Yes, we are, and I’m sure you’ve figured out the rest by now haven’t you?”
“You may have been able to fool all of those other halfwits but it was painfully obvious to me, of course.”
“Of course.” Namjoon nodded while trying to suppress an amused grin.
“I want in, I wish to join you and your kind.”
“No,” Yoongi immediately cut in, “You don’t know what you’re asking for, this is a curse it is not something to take lightly and flirt with the notion of.”
His tone was harsh, his face stern but there was evident pain behind his eyes. Yoongi had been forced into this life if that was what you could even call it. He couldn’t fathom someone willingly agreeing to eternal damnation and he would try his hardest to convince them otherwise.
“Are you denying me?” Jin asked, his face contorted in utter disbelief. He was never denied anything in his twenty-eight years of life and the feeling of rejection was infuriating.
“Yoongi, it’s his decision,” Namjoon interjected, his hand wiping the blood from his mouth leaving a streaky crimson trail behind.
“You’re not actually considering this, are you?” Yoongi hissed.
“What is there to consider? He’s already seen us and he knows what he wants.”
“He has no idea what he wants!”
“And why are you speaking for me? Just because you’re miserable and dissatisfied does not mean the same will be said for me!” Jin spat. “I grow tired of this human body. Every second of every day I feel myself wasting away and there is not a thing I can do about it.”
“You would throw away your humanity, your life, all in the name of vanity?” Yoongi asked in disbelief.
“And for greed as well,” Jin laughed, “Believe me, I am many things and one of them is self-aware. I am a selfish bastard and I am perfectly fine with that. I won’t allow my looks to fade and my fortune will grow as centuries pass. This is what I desire and I refuse to concede.”
He was a businessman in every aspect.
“It sounds like he’s made his choice, Yoongi.” Namjoon finally spoke.
“It sounds like he’s made an ignorant choice and I refuse to have any part in this,” Yoongi said, storming past the two of them and slamming the door shut with enough force that the mahogany wood cracked by the handle.
“So, are we going to fuck about or will you give me what I want?” Jin asked, his impatience growing.
“I consider you a good friend, Jin. I won't lie, I am pleased that you are asking this of me.” Namjoon smiled before grabbing Jin’s shoulder, “We’re all lonely children looking for a place where we belong.”
Lonely children, that was one way to put it. Namjoon was not entirely wrong. In a world where you deserved only the best, many fell short and in the end, you were painfully alone, whether you were willing to admit it or not.
“Before we go through with this, there are some things you should know.”
“What things?”
“You can’t go in the sun, not just yet, you’ll be far too young and far too sensitive to light. Quiet, dark, scentless places are going to be the best place to stay - your senses are going to be heightened tenfold. You must feed often in the early years, you’re going to be very hungry, bloodthirsty really so you need to stay away from large crowds of people.”
Jin was silent for a moment, his eyes shifting from left to right and back again as he processed everything he was told. He could manage, and he could figure out how to do all of those things while maintaining his position as an heir.
“Lastly, do not try and do this alone. In our world, there is strength in numbers as well as safety. You’ll have to stay with me and Yoongi, we will all be bound to one another as creator and creation.”
“So when you two leave…”
“You will follow.” Namjoon nodded, “We try to stay in one place for as long as we can so if it’s your family you’re worried about you’ll have plenty of time to figure something out.”
But they weren’t coming with him. As terrible as it was, that wasn’t a great enough reason to sway his decision. He still wanted what he desired and he was willing to let his family go. So he stuck out his hand, ready to shake on the agreement.
“I accept the conditions.”
~~~~~~~
Most people were afraid of spiders, some of heights, and many feared drowning. But you feared something a bit more abstract and with a bit more finality. You were afraid of aging and by association, you were incredibly afraid of death.
And that fear often leads you to do a few things. One of them was to start skincare at an absurdly young age. The other was to hermit yourself inside of your house out of fear of some horrific accident befalling you. And the other was to seek out strange and obscure places to visit before you die. It was odd that the last two coincide but they do.
There were days when you were so frightened that you couldn’t stand the thought of leaving the comfort of your bed. And then you had days where you felt daring, if you were going to die one day would you really want to have lived your only life trapped inside of your own house? There were your good days and your bad days and they came and went like the tides.
Today was a “good” day. And by good day that meant you were on your laptop scrolling through forums trying to find a new place to visit. Living in a small town was hard, you knew everyone and every place because they were so few in number. But sometimes there were locations in between towns, or hidden spots in your own. Briar Hills is an old town, a historical town even. It’s not uncommon for places to be abandoned, concrete skeletons collapsing and being devoured by the flora.
It was finding them, buried in hundreds of posts, that was difficult. The teenagers in the town had taken to reclaiming those places, turning them into party spots in the blink of an eye. But that has changed in the past few months. Ever since the first body turned up.
That was the thing about small towns, murder was much rarer than the action that cities see. So, when dozens of corpses begin to show up in streams and lakes and people begin to go missing without a trace - panic ensues. As well as a town-wide curfew.
Briar Hills turned into a ghost town after dark. The streets would be empty, lit by a few lampposts spread down the street that was easily consumed by a thick, hazy fog. Every now and then the fog would be broken by police lights, red and blue shocks of color dispersing the mist as the night patrol came around the block. It looked like something out of a horror movie.
And, if it weren’t a good day, the sight alone would be enough to keep you corralled in your room. But it was a good day and you had become stir-crazy from staying in your house for the past few weeks.
After endless scrolling there was one post in particular that caught your attention. It looked like an extravagant invitation with a satin black background and deep red embellishments. It had very little interaction and it was written in a completely different language. For something as obscure as an abandoned place in a small town you weren’t surprised that it had gone unnoticed, especially considering few people checked this forum.
Putting the text into google translate had not been insanely helpful. The translated text was jumbled and made little sense, it was one of those languages that did not thrive when it came to longer translations. But you were interested and fairly stubborn and after extended research and decoding fragmented sentences you were left with this:
“The best bite I’ve ever had,” And following that was a set of coordinates that had been written out instead of just using their numerical counterparts.
You were interested.
What could that mean? Maybe it was some hole-in-the-wall restaurant, but why all the decorum? Why the translations? Who even uses coordinates anymore? The best way to get the answers you desired was to discover them for yourself.
That’s how you ended up sneaking out of your house, dressed head to toe in dark colors, like some teenager that’s about to disappoint their parents. Except, in this case, your parents were the cops, and being grounded would equate to being detained for violating the town-wide curfew. All the more reason to not get caught.
You started to get cold feet when you realized where the set of coordinates was leading you, your body came to a fast stop when the toes of your boots met the edge of the forest. The forest, at night, with low visibility, and predators prowling was a bad move. That just screamed a sudden and violent death, not to mention the bulk of missing persons' corpses had been found within its depths. This was a stupid idea, a bad move, but it was a good day and you were too stubborn to follow reason. You would make up for it tomorrow by hiding in your bed all day. It was an unhealthy coping mechanism, but a coping mechanism nonetheless.
You took a deep breath, squared your shoulders, and took a step forward. There was no going back now, you had made up your mind.
The further into the forest you trekked the quieter it became. It didn’t make sense. You were getting further from society so why was it so quiet? The wind was still, not a branch or leaf trembled, and not even a cricket dared to chirp. It was like every living creature had up and left, abandoning their home. The only sound that filled the static silence was the bubbling rush of water from the river.
You began to walk faster, your nerves urging you to get where you were going and be done with it. On top of that, your eyes were starting to play tricks on you, your brain attempting to make sense of the dark and fill in what was missing resulting in ominous shadows shifting through the trees. You were regretting your decision immensely, so you picked up the pace and began humming to yourself to fill the silence.
If you were being honest, you really had no idea what you were supposed to be looking for. The post hadn’t listed much of anything and you weren’t sure what would be at the end of the coordinates. But, the red light glowing in the distance was a sure sign of something. It grew more intense as you neared it, the light getting stronger the closer to the ground it was. When you finally pushed through the underbrush you were met with a set of concrete stairs leading down into the ground and at the very bottom was an old metal door with a faintly pulsing red light above it. Looking down at your phone you were able to verify that you had made it to where the coordinates were marked.
It was a bomb shelter. It was most likely one for the community back in the forties, an evacuation and safe point for those who didn’t have their own. It must have been abandoned and forgotten about after the war, left to rot there for the past eighty years. But if that light was anything to go by, it must have been reclaimed by someone.
You carefully stepped down the stairs, applying a little weight at a time to make sure that the concrete hadn’t eroded and wouldn’t crumble beneath you. When you reached the bottom you tried the door and to your surprise, it opened with a creak. There was a long tunnel just barely lit by candles lining the walls leaving deep shadows in between them. And now you could feel the walls thumping, steadily vibrating with a muffled bass. That meant there was another chamber somewhere.
You hesitantly traveled down the tunnel, long stretches of the floor would eventually give way to more stairs leading you deeper and deeper underground. This was a claustrophobe's worst nightmare. The more you walked the harder the walls vibrated until you finally came upon another door where the sounds became the loudest. Above the door hung a purple neon sign that read: “Blood Sugar.”
Upon testing the door handle, you were surprised to find that it was unlocked, and once it slowly swung open your nose was assaulted with the scent of alcohol, sweat, and a coppery odor. You swiftly entered and closed the door behind you, trying your best not to bring too much attention to yourself. But it appears you would have no trouble doing so.
The room you had stepped into was massive, the walls were tall and rounded out at the ceiling and were made completely out of metal. But it was far from a barren, abandoned bunker. The room was packed with people, some dancing, some drinking, and others wrapped around one another on the various red velvet chaises spread around the space. The music was loud and the room was lit by antique chandeliers as well as deep purple lighting casting an ominous glow over everyone.
The bunker had been converted into a club of some sort and despite the decrepit tunnels you had slunk through to get here, it was surprisingly luxurious. You were honestly surprised the entire town hadn’t known about this place. That much was certainly true because, despite the large crowd, you could only recognize about five people you had seen before. The massive gathering was largely that of people that were not from Briar Hills.
A set of delicate hands slithered around your waist, tugging you sharply towards the stranger behind you. A shout of surprise parted your lips as you turned around, slapping the offending limbs off of you.
There was a tall woman facing you with a grin on her face, her bright white teeth glinting from behind her deep red lips. Her skin was so pale it was glowing with a purple hue from the lights, her long black curls creating an even sharper contrast against her skin. And you couldn’t explain why you felt the way you did, but the sight of those bright white teeth had your stomach twisting in knots. Despite her delicate appearance, every red flag was being raised in your body. The urge to run was strong.
“Hello, sweetheart,” She crooned, “You’re new, aren’t you?”
Something in the back of your mind demanded you lie.
“No, I’m not. If you’ll excuse me,” You said, your voice steady and cold despite the goosebumps on the back of your neck and the rapid thump of your pulse.
As you went to walk past her she easily stopped you with a hand on your shoulder, her face suddenly incredibly close as she pressed her nose to your hairline and took a deep breath. “Oh, you can’t lie to me, I remember every sweet little snack that comes in here.”
What. The. Fuck.
“Look, I’m not interested in…whatever that means,” You huffed, taking a few steps back and breaking free from her steel grasp, “I’m just here for a drink.”
“Oh?” She hummed, “So am I, I’m glad we can cut to the chase.”
“Okay?” You slowly asked before shuffling around her imposing figure, “See ya.”
You slipped into the crowd, forcing your way through the bodies in an attempt to shake her off of your trail. Anybody else in your position would have lingered for the ethereal woman, but you couldn’t ignore that feeling in the back of your mind or that tug deep in your gut. She was dangerous, and no pretty smile or sweet words could hide it. It was in times like these that your intense fear of death became present as paranoia, warning you of all potential threats.
When you started therapy you were encouraged to slowly step out of your comfort zone, to do things that would combat your anxieties. So, on good days, you try your best to succeed with these short-term goals hoping in the long run you could live normally like every other person your age. But you often found your anxiety creeping up on you and you knew after tonight you would need the rest of the week to recover and that meant avoidance which meant hiding out in your rented duplex.
But for now, you had to cope.
When you broke free from the crowd you stumbled forward, a stray limb jabbing you in the back and sending you reeling onto one of the velvet chaises. To your utter embarrassment, you landed right next to a couple that had left all of their inhibitions at the door like many other patrons of the underground club. The woman was straddling the man's thighs, her arms wrapped around his shoulders as he buried his head in the crook of her neck, her long locks obscuring his face. Although you couldn’t see what he was doing it didn’t take a genius to figure out what it was as the woman’s mouth opened to let out soft moans of pleasure.
Heat rushed up to your face as you stumbled off of the chaise and backed up from the voyeuristic lovers. Of course, you weren't innocent, but seeing something like that in person was different from shamelessly reading smut at three AM.
A few feet away from the couple was the bar. It was surprisingly empty for a club. The man you assumed to be the bartender behind the countertop was relaxing against it, his dark eyes scanning your awkward posture.
You swiftly approached the bar and yelled over the music, “Hi, how much is water?”
He gave you an amused chuckle before grabbing a small leather menu and sliding it over to you, “We don’t serve that here, sweetheart.”
You stared at him in confusion before flipping open the menu. The only thing listed there were various wines all costing an exorbitant amount of money, and by that, you meant at least three months' rent and that was just for a glass, not even the bottle.
“These prices are insane, are you kidding me?!”
“They’re from 1889, newbie.” He smiled, a grin identical to the woman from earlier.
“Well, this was a bust.” You groaned, the initial buzz of excitement from finding a town secret had long since faded.
“Can I offer you some advice?”
“Be my guest.”
“You might want to pay more attention to your surroundings, you’ve had eyes on you since you stepped foot in this place.”
Your eyebrows furrowed as you peered over your shoulder. Sure enough, there were a few dark eyes staring back at you - but there was one pair in particular that really caught your attention. There was a man in a roped-off section of the club, a velvet curtain drawn to the side to reveal him seated on an ornate chair. He looked like a king watching over his people, and you meant that not only because of his position but because of his features as well. It was undeniable that he was the most attractive person in the room, hell, the most attractive person you had ever seen. Smooth pale skin, plush lips in a permanent pout, dark eyes, and the widest set of shoulders with a slender waist. He was a work of art. He had this look on his pretty features as if he had just tasted something bitter, and that look was directed behind you.
“If I were you, I would get out of here. Things get crazy with fresh blood, ya know? The people here are like sharks in the water.” The bartender said, regaining your attention. “Uh oh, looks like you got one on your trail.”
You followed his and the pretty stranger’s gaze behind you. It was her again, the woman from earlier. She was slipping through the ocean of moving bodies with ease, her gait like that of a jaguar on the prowl as she approached. You watched as her polished fingers wiped away what looked like stray lipstick from beneath her lips.
Without thinking you darted away from the bar and past the pretty man, rushing through the first door you found which turned out to be the bathroom. Once the door fell shut you felt like you could relax for a moment. The music was muffled allowing you to think coherently for the first time since you had entered the bunker. Everything had become far too stimulating and you could feel your anxiety rising.
You leaned against the sink, turning the water on ice cold before splashing your face so that you could shock yourself back into clarity. You allowed yourself to brace the sink and relax your body, focusing on your breathing and grounding yourself before you lost control, just the way you were taught to.
The feeling of ice-cold fingers on your shoulders threw all of your work away.
You yelped and flinched, your eyes flying open to see her standing behind you in the reflection of the mirror.
“I knew you were a shy little thing, you should have just told me you wanted to do this privately.” She sighed with a sickeningly sweet smile.
In a moment of flight, fight, or freeze your body chose for you, your legs running without you telling them to do so. You didn’t make it far, not before she grabbed hold of you and threw you up against the wall. Your head hit the tile behind you so hard you saw stars.
“I’ve been hunting you down all night, you’ve made me build up quite the appetite. Do you know how many others I’ve had to threaten to get to you? Everyone always wants to take someone’s first bite.”
What the fuck was she talking about?
“While it was cute at first, we've played this game for long enough, don’t you think?”
“Let go of me!” You yelled while grabbing her wrists and trying to pry her hands off of you. To your complete and utter shock, she didn’t move an inch, it was like her bones were made of iron - immovable and inflexible.
“Now, now, don’t go throwing a tantrum that won’t get you anywhere.” She sighed, sliding her hand up your shoulder to wrap around your throat and squeeze.
Your throat and lungs burned as her grip slowly increased its pressure, your eyes watering as broken gasps and chokes for air gurgled past your lips.
“There there, much better.” She whispered into your ear as she released your throat, your body going limp as you gasped for air.
She easily gathered you up into her arms and softly tilted your head to the side, her perfectly polished nails grazing over the stretch of skin as she hummed before pressing her cherry-red lips to your throat.
“Don’t worry, you’ll feel a slight pinch.” She joked before her jaw widened and a demonic hiss left her throat as her teeth grazed the soft flesh of your vulnerable neck.
But before she could sink her teeth in she was harshly ripped away from you, her perfect face slammed so hard into the bathroom wall that the tiles shattered upon impact. A loud cry of pain echoed throughout the room as she pulled herself from the wall, black blood was pouring from her crooked nose and her sliced lips.
Behind her stood the stranger from before, a miffed and frankly disgusted expression marred his stunning features.
“What the fuck, Jin?!” She screamed, cupping her injured face.
“She’s not a fang banger, Junghee.”
Her once flawless features froze in shock as a look of horror crawled over her face. It was the look of someone who realized that they had made a horrible mistake.
“You’ve really fucked up this time.” He growled in irritation, a genuine growl that had your skin crawling.
“Well, how was I supposed to know?! What is she even doing here?!”
“That’s none of your concern anymore, get the fuck out!” He yelled, ripping the bathroom door open and throwing her out of the room.
You stayed pressed up against the wall out of pure terror. Vampires, you had walked into a fucking nest of vampires and had the closest brush with death you’ve ever had in your entire life. Your gaze remained locked on the vampire, Jin, as he calmed down; the waves of his rage slowly dissipating. In this lighting, you could finally see what you hadn’t been able to before in the dim club. Under the fluorescent lights, his eyes gleamed a vibrant, intimidating red.
You winced in fright as he took a step in your direction, your body attempting to meld into the wall behind you. Jin raised his eyebrow in questioning, taken aback by your apprehension. It wasn’t often he had humans cowering in fear, usually, they shook from…something else.
“Enough of that, come along human.” He snapped, grabbing you by your sleeve and easily dragging you from the room despite your protests and your heels digging into the ground. He was pulling you as if you weighed nothing.
“Let go!” You shrieked in terror, struggling against his hold with all of your might.
He came to a sudden halt, gripping you by your shoulder and pulling your body so close that there was barely an inch of space left between his chest and your own.
“Don’t you think you’ve drawn enough attention to yourself tonight?”
You peered over your shoulder, and sure enough, there were several of his kind watching the two of you from the dance floor. Their stares were curious and hungry. Unconsciously you shifted closer to him, choosing the lesser of two evils, one vampire versus many.
“Look at that you’re smart, for a human.” He snickered before guiding you back to the curtained area you had seen him sitting in before Junghee had cornered you in the bathroom.
“Sit, stay.” He said with a smirk as he pressed you down by your shoulder onto one of the couches before gesturing for someone to close the thick curtains.
“Look, I just want to go home. I won’t breathe a word about what happened here or what this place is, it was a mistake coming here.”
“A mistake indeed, but a mistake that needs correcting nonetheless,” Jin said with a distressed roll of his (impressive) shoulders. “So, tell me human, how did you find this place?”
You sat there in silence for a moment, your face the perfect image of confusion, “Are you being serious right now?”
“I don’t recall telling a joke.”
“You - there was a post online, on a forum? Anyone could have found it if they were looking close enough, it really wasn’t that hard to find. All I had to do was translate the text and it told me where to go.”
“A…forum?” He repeated, clearly confused.
Dear God, he was an old-ass vampire who didn't know much about technology or even the internet. He didn’t even know he had advertised the place. He was just an old man in a young man’s body.
“You know, a forum, it’s online, it's where people who want to discuss a certain topic go to. I was looking for obscure places, abandoned buildings, and lesser-known spots in town. I found the posting for this place and it just said ‘The best bite I’ve ever had’...I didn’t know it meant literally.” You said, your nerves leading you to ramble on and on.
Jin’s eyes pressed shut, his face contorting in anger as a hiss parted his lips, “Jimin.”
Jimin and himself were the only two vampires in their coven that knew about the club Jin hosted. Jin had been careless one night and Jimin had followed him, discovering the secret he had kept well hidden. Jin bought Jimin’s silence initially with limited access to the place, but now he was regretting every interaction he had had with the short vampire.
One of the few times Jin had found himself getting on with said vampire had led him to express his annoyance with the lack of human stock for the club. In turn, Jimin had offered to help “advertise” in exchange for unrestricted access to the club.
Now that he had figured out how the little human had snuck her way in, he had to decide what to do with her. He could always kill her, that would be the simple answer. He could drain her dry and snap her pretty neck in an instant. But that wasn’t really his style, he typically preferred to savor his meals unlike his gorger of a “brother”, Jungkook.
Perhaps the human could serve a purpose for him.
“Come, human.” He beckoned with his fingers.
You remained frozen in your seat, your body still in active survival mode keeping your joints locked.
Jin sighed, clearly miffed by your disobedience. He rose from his own seat only to cross the room and sit next to you. His long fingers gripped your chin and jerked your head up, forcing you to look at him. His hold was ice cold, the chill from his touch steadily seeping into your jaw. You felt paralyzed by his intimidating crimson gaze. His eyes flicked quickly over your features as he turned your head from side to side, taking in your every pore.
“Not bad, for a human. Don’t feel too offended, it’s difficult to look as flawless as myself.” He said with a casual tone as if he were merely stating a fact.
“You look pretty average to me,” You blurted out the lie, your lips moving before your brain could stop you from verbalizing.
It was so fast you almost couldn't see it but it was there, his left eye twitched and his grip tightened forcing a slight whine of pain from you. He roughly jerked your head to the side, choosing to ignore what you said despite how much it clearly bothered him. Instead, he trained his focus on your neck, pulling the collar of your shirt down past your collarbone.
“Smooth,” He observed, his icy touch skipping over the skin of your throat, “Junghee didn’t sink her dirty fangs in you after all, that’s good.”
Without warning he leaned down, his nose skimming over your neck as he breathed in, flooding himself with your scent. His grip tightened as you yelped and tried to jerk away from him in fear that this time you would surely die at the hands of a mythical creature, a monster in the flesh.
You squeezed your eyes shut as you felt his plump lips brush your throat, his cool breath fanning over the skin and leaving goosebumps in its wake. His actions were reminiscent of a wine connoisseur, the way they studied the body of the wine and the aroma. He was assessing you - attempting to decide if you would make a good meal, that you were certain of.
You jerked as you felt him bury his face further into your neck. You could feel the slight flutter of his eyelashes against your skin as a groan parted his lips.
“Well, don’t you smell delicious?” He crooned, his tongue swiping over his lips and just barely ghosting over your throat. “I think that we can come to an agreement, does that sound nice?”
“What,” You paused to clear your throat, “what did you have in mind?”
“I’m glad you asked,” He said with a wink after pulling back from you, “You see, I think we could mutually benefit from one another’s company. While breaking your pretty little neck would certainly be the easiest way out of this problem, I do find you quite amusing, pet.”
Your body grew stiff as your mind conjured up the image of his strong hands severing your vertebrate in one smooth pull, your body falling limp and lifeless on the club’s floor. Your greatest fear was death and Jin was death incarnate. He could very easily take your life if he so desired and he was making that very clear. He cared not whether you lived or died but only if your presence benefitted him in some manner. Your life was inconsequential.
“Very few people meet my standards but you are very lucky, I have a rather refined palette and it just so happens you meet said standards. So, I would like to propose a business arrangement. You will be my sole donor and keep those pretty lips sealed about everything you have witnessed tonight and in turn, you get to keep your life.”
“And if I don’t agree?” You dared to ask.
A sneer marred his perfect face, his fingers gripping your chin and forcing you to look at him in his blood-red eyes.
“Then your pathetic human life ends right here, right now.” He said, his hand slipping down your jaw to loosely wrap around your throat. He could feel your pulse steadily thumping against his hand causing his mouth to involuntarily pool with saliva, hunger twisting in his gut.
Your breath hitched, fear slicing down your spine like a violent chill. You knew you only had one choice, and that was to appease the monster that sat beside you because he was far less frightening than the unknown, than the certain embrace of death that waited at every corner.
When fear rules your life, you have no choice. There is only ever one option.
“I agree,” Your voice trembled as you swallowed uncomfortably under his grasp. “I’ll be your donor.”
“Splendid.” He said with a grin, his canines glinting under the light.
“Can I…can I please go home now?” You asked, clasping your trembling hands together to try and still their shaking.
“No, there are a few more fine details we have to iron out,” He said, his index finger lightly tapping your chin, “Firstly, I expect you to maintain a healthy lifestyle and that means no alcohol within a twenty-four hour period before we meet and certainly no smoking it’s a dirty and disgusting habit.”
You nodded slowly, trying your best to avoid looking into his piercing red gaze.
“Try your best to have a healthy diet as well, the junk you humans gorge yourselves on taints your flavor, it’s unbearably sweet.” He said with a wrinkle of his nose in disgust. “I will compensate you for your efforts and your donations, once I’ve deemed you satisfactory, of course,”
“I think that about covers it. And when I call upon you I expect your presence. Do we understand one another?” He asked with a tilt of his head.
Your throat was far too tight, your eyes burning with unshed tears as you weakly nodded in agreement.
“Very good,” He hummed before leaning back into the couch and soundly tapping the top of his thigh, “come, pet.”
You sat still, your body frozen in shock as you were unsure if you had heard him correctly.
“Well?” He raised his eyebrow expectantly.
“I…I don’t think that, um-”
“Are you going to keep babbling and test my patience, or are you going to be a good little pet and do as I say?” He interjected and immediately you remembered the phantom feeling of his hand on your throat, the light grip that screamed threat.
You awkwardly shuffled on your knees across the couch and hesitantly settled your legs on either side of him, hovering so that your weight did not rest on his lap. In response, he firmly gripped your hips and harshly pulled you down onto him, pressing you directly against him in a way that sent heat rushing beneath your skin despite the evident chill that emanated from his body.
You could see his fangs even clearer now. They had become longer than before, the sharpened points dragging along the flushed skin of his plump lower lip. You were terrified by the thought of them piercing your thin flesh. What if they punctured your jugular and you bled out to death? What if he had just been playing with his food this entire time, instilling a false hope of survival in you just to watch with murderous glee as you realized you were meant to die the entire time as he drained the life out of you?
And then what? The void of inevitable nothingness? The abyss of the afterlife? You were spiraling now, you could feel it in the way your chest constricted and your breaths came out in panicked, short huffs.
A soft, wet, stroke against your throat pulled you from your frightening thoughts. As your vision cleared you realized that he had settled back into the juncture of your neck and shoulder, his tongue gently and steadily lapping at your skin. Despite your embarrassment, you could feel your body slowly relaxing and melting against him. It felt like you were being shot up with a tranquilizer, your muscles going weak from his ministrations as the skin of your neck went numb.
And within seconds his fangs were sinking through your flesh, easy and smooth. You jolted in response, a cry of pain leaving you as your fingers curled into the silk of his shirt while your body subconsciously leaned away, trying to escape the sudden painful stimulus.
In response, you could feel Jin’s arms tighten around your back and harshly pull you flat against his chest with an animalistic growl, one that immediately paralyzed you with fear.
The vampire beneath you was enraptured, completely lost in the feeding frenzy as rivers of blood flowed freely past his plump lips and poured down his throat. Your scent had been seductive, but your taste? It was better than any wine, better than ambrosia and nectar, it was addictive. So addictive he was unsure if he would be able to stop but at the same time aware he could not kill you because the rest of his immortal existence would be utter hell if he were unable to get another hit.
Kim Seokjin had a refined palette and high standards and few people met his expectations. But you? You were complete and utter perfection. And he deserved perfection.
His grip was too hard, unrelenting, crushing you against him. You wouldn’t be surprised if he cracked your spine by accident. It was like he was afraid to release you, afraid that there was a chance you would be able to escape him, the apex predator.
But these thoughts were all uselessly whimpered in the back of your mind because the rest of your brain was completely flooded with euphoria. You had never felt so warm and tingly despite his cool hands in your entire life. It was almost like an out-of-body experience, the only thing keeping you grounded in existence was his tight hold. And there were other feelings as well, feelings you would have been ashamed of had your inhibitions not completely disappeared. Feelings that had your thighs clenching on either side of his waist, your heart beating pathetically fast, your pupils dilating, and your limp body helplessly rocking against him with his hands guiding and encouraging you.
This was completely out of character for you. You didn’t climb into random men's laps and writhe against them eagerly like you were in heat. That had never been who you were, but the position you were in now clearly said otherwise.
You were growing lightheaded, not only from arousal and euphoria but from blood loss as well. You weakly pushed at his chest, your innate desire to survive prevailing over the pleasure that had relaxed your muscles.
“Jin, please,” You whimpered, struggling to speak.
The vampire didn’t respond or relent, his arms still wrapped around you like a vice. In desperation you wound your arms around his neck, your fingers tangling into his hair and tugging at the roots. The pull certainly took him off guard, his fangs sliding free from your throat and his perfect lips parting to release a startled moan.
His eyes were half-lidded but his red irises still burned brightly under the dim lighting, a perfect match for the blood that stained his lips and chin. He said nothing at that moment and from what very little you knew about him you could conclude that it was not often that he was at a loss for words.
Warmth trickled down your neck, rivulets of blood still flowing freely now without him there to catch them and that seemed to snap him back to attention. He slowly leaned forward, maintaining eye contact with you until he was level with your throat once more, his tongue darting out to lick up the trails of blood before tracing over the puncture wounds he had left behind.
Your hold on his shoulders did nothing to dissuade him, in fact, he quite enjoyed your weak attempts to keep him at an arm's length. Humans were so fragile, so weak, and he enjoyed that.
“Relax,” He breathed, “We have a deal, remember? It would be a waste to drain you dry in one night.”
“And how do I know you don’t just like to play with your food?” You asked.
“You don’t. You’ll just have to take my word for it, pet.” He smirked, tapping your chin with his finger.
“You’re not going to kill me?”
“Let’s just say your sample was more than satisfactory, I have no reason to take back my word just yet.”
Yet. And yet, he was actually letting you go.
“I’ll see to it that you make it home safely,” He began. But before he could finish speaking you were eagerly sliding off of his lap.
His hands caught your waist easily, one holding you steady and the other firmly grasping your chin between his thumb and forefinger forcing you to look him in his eyes.
“Remember, I call, you answer. As long as you abide by my rules we won’t have a problem.”
You nodded quickly, his words barely registering in your brain as your body took control. You would agree to anything that would keep you alive.
“Don’t disappoint me.”
~~~~~~
Days had passed since that night at Blood Sugar, days where Jin had not tried to contact you, days that you spent isolated in your house - a wave of agoraphobia so strong that the thought of passing a threshold frightened you to the bone which was beyond ironic considering your situation. But those days also led to you trying to convince yourself it had all been a bad dream.
If the encounter at Blood Sugar had in fact been real, you had little to show for it. The skin of your throat was smooth and untouched despite the fangs that you were certain had torn through it like paper. The only parting gift you had was the urge to sleep for days, a splitting headache, and a touch of soreness around your ribs where you were sure his arms had once restrained you.
Pretending it hadn’t happened was easier on your mind. Your whole world had been turned upside down and the monsters you once thought to be the stuff of stories had been pulled from the shadows and abruptly thrust into the light. It was easier to pretend it was a dream. But you couldn’t shake those blood-red eyes from your memories nor the show of pure strength that had been demonstrated against Junghee - her once perfect face that was so easily disfigured by the elder vampire.
You were afraid of death and the realization that it actually lurked at every eerie corner and you had sat in its lap like a contented house cat was enough to fry the connections in your brain.
And you could only pretend for so long. You could only ignore reality for so long.
It had been three weeks since you had seen him when he finally confirmed his existence in the form of a simple text.
“Hungry, you know where to find me.”
And that made your blood run cold. It was time to finally face reality, you had actually made a deal with a vampire and now he was cashing in on your promise. It was donate or die.
And in an absolute panic, you made a terrible decision. You placed your phone face down and retreated beneath your blankets like a small child hiding from the boogeyman.
Your phone did not cease to remind you that you had made a bad decision. The messages started sporadically - spread out throughout the hour. But Jin’s impatience grew as did the texts and calls. The eerie silence of your bedroom filled with a continuous buzzing as your phone continued to vibrate until you couldn’t take it anymore and without looking at a single message you shut down your phone. But that only brought temporary relief.
You were begrudgingly pulled from the safety of your bed that day for an inspection your landlord had scheduled two days prior. There was no getting out of it and in your mind, it was a welcome distraction from the spiraling anxiety you felt when you thought about your powered-down phone.
You had no way of knowing that their presence would only worsen the problem that you had created.
You were generally a quiet person that kept to yourself around strangers, especially strangers that had a say in whether you continued living in your home or not. You practically stuck yourself to the walls as she inspected your home, and while your landlord was not necessarily a mean woman she wasn’t very chatty. You two got along in those regards.
You were able to breathe when she gave you an awkward, tight-lipped smile, waved, and closed the door behind her.
As soon as she was gone you rushed back into your bedroom and just barely pulled your curtains aside to peer out your window and watch her retreat. But when you did look out that window you felt your blood run cold. She was still there, standing on the walkway, and directly in front of her was him. It was twilight out, the sun still desperately trying to cling to a purple and ochre colored sky. It was safe for him to be out. He was giving her a charming smile, one that anyone would fall over at the sight of. You could see him laugh and then say a few words but you were too far away to make out what they were. And then to your utmost horror, she walked away and he made his way up the front steps.
You were frozen, your muscles tense, and refused to move. You held your breath as you listened. There was no way that he could get in, you hadn’t given him permission. But all of your hope washed out of you when you heard the front door’s knob turn and the soft click of it leaving the frame. There were a few light steps and then the door shut once more.
He was inside the house.
You felt absolutely helpless as all you could do was wait for him to find you. There was nowhere to run, nowhere to hide, you were cornered.
It was only a matter of seconds before he did find you, a stern and angry expression clear on his face as he rounded the banister and the stairs and stood right outside the door frame of your room. His eyes were different now, they weren’t the vibrant red that you remembered. They were a deep burgundy now, almost black as they stared back at you with intensity. You couldn’t even make out the difference between his pupils and his irises. It was a bottomless, dark gaze.
“How did you get in?” You asked, the words rushing out of you to your own surprise.
One of his dark brows quirked, whether it was in surprise or irritation you did not know.
“Elaine let me in,” He said with a stomach-turning grin.
Your landlord. She technically owned the house, she could let him in even if you didn’t invite him.
“I thought I made myself clear when we spoke, did I not?” He asked rhetorically, “I call, you answer, I feed, you keep your life. What part of that did your little human brain not comprehend?”
“You called me?”
“Don’t play dumb with me.”
“My phone died-”
“Don’t make me repeat myself!” He snapped, his voice shockingly loud and incomposed.
You flinched back against the wall as he finally entered your room only to stop dead in his tracks not more than five feet away. His eyes widened, his nostrils flared, and his fangs descended on instinct.
The two of you stood there, both staring at each other and refusing to move, waiting for the other to act first.
Jin was the one to break the stalemate.
“You’re on your period.”
Your eyes widened in embarrassment, warmth radiating beneath your skin in response. He could smell it, that was the only explanation and that was a mortifying thought that had you pressing your thighs together, tight and closed.
He looked shaken, frazzled, and incredibly unlike himself. His rage was forgotten, his hunger controlling him. He was gripping the footboard of your bed, the skin of his knuckles stretched taut as he held onto it like he was keeping himself grounded.
“I want a taste,” He said, staring you down without a single blink.
It took you a moment to comprehend what he had just said, and as soon as you connected the dots you were anchoring yourself to the wall and vehemently shaking your head.
“No, no way!”
“Yes,”
“No! That’s messy and gross and I never agreed to do anything like that with you!
“I’m hungry,” He hissed, “And you expect me to just leave when you smell like fucking heaven?”
“Yes, because everything about this is crazy! I don’t know you, I never wanted to find you and now I’m stuck with you until you ultimately decide to kill me so I’m sorry that you’re hungry but it’s not even my problem in the first place!”
That was the one upside to being on your period, the influx of hormones allowed you to become confrontational.
“I’ll pay you double for a feed directly from the source,” He said with gritted teeth.
Jin was never one to bargain, usually he would leave a deal with far more than the other party. But this was something he refused to pass up. Vampires, very often, had little to no inhibitions especially when it came to sex. Sex was often a co-occurrence with feeding, and menstruation was the epitome of that. He didn’t expect a pathetic little human like you to understand. You were fettered by mortal concepts that had forced you to believe you were to be a social pariah during that time, that it was “gross,” as you had said. Little did you know you were considered a delicacy in his world, ripe for the taking. And he knew how delicious you were when he fed from the vein, his mouth watered at the thought of what it would be like now.
Your silence to his proposition only frustrated him even more.
“Do you know how many people would die to be in your position right now? I’ve had women beg to be on their knees for me and I’m offering to pay you to do the opposite.”
You were sure that he was telling the truth because he certainly was the most breathtaking man you had ever seen in your entire life. But what confused you was why he didn’t just throw you down and do as he pleased. He was bigger than you, stronger than you, and far faster than you. If he wanted it as badly as he claimed, why was he bargaining with you? You could only assume it was the lingering effects of the era he had lived in. While he was an asshole, perhaps he took no joy in forcing himself on a woman in that manner.
And then there was the money. Rent wasn’t cheap, that was for sure. And not many people could say that they were paid to be pleasured. It wasn’t a terrible offer, and the last thing you wanted to do was displease a vampire that could kill you and had threatened to do so before.
Shit.
“You wont hurt me?” You asked, your voice wavered.
“Quite the opposite,” He smirked. He knew that he had won.
A gasp of surprise parted your lips as he closed the distance between you, moving so fast that a gust of wind whipped up ruffling your hair and sending loose pages of paper tumbling from your desk. Your heart stuttered in fright, every minute you spent with him only served as a reminder of how dangerous he was. This arrangement you had with him was dangerous, you were toeing the line between life and death and that thought made your stomach turn in unease. He was a vampire, an apex predator, a creature that you had stopped believing in long ago, but also the undead embodiment of death. The very thing you feared the most. All it would take is one moment of frenzy, a lack of control and you would be left to bleed out in your sheets with no one to come and find your remains for weeks to pass.
You didn’t want to die, but you knew he wouldn’t let you live.
The touch of his cold fingers to your waist brought you back to him as he tugged you toward your bed, pressing you down onto the sheets before moving over you like an animal on the hunt. His eyes were pitch black, the veins beneath them prominent, and his fangs dangerously grazed his plump lips. He looked like a fallen angel, like Lucifer himself, the most beautiful outcast of them all.
An involuntary cry of fright left you as he moved impossibly fast once more, his face now level with the side of your head, the tip of his nose just barely brushing over your cheek as he chuckled. Even his breath was frigid.
“You’re nervous,” He hummed in delight, “Careful now, we wouldn’t want your heart to stop, would we?”
He could feel the violent, rapid thumps of your heart where his chest was pressed against yours. It had been a long time since he had had a human like this, oftentimes he found it too annoying. They were fragile creatures and having to restrain himself was rather inconvenient, but he preferred his partners to be responsive when he had his way with them, unlike some of his kind who couldn’t care either way. Was it still necrophilia if both parties were technically dead?
And while your heart was making itself known, you could feel nothing in response. His heart didn’t beat like yours, it had gone silent long ago and that thought only reminded you of just how wrong this entire thing was. He was dead, but you couldn’t wrap your mind around how he also seemed so very alive and while that scared you deeply, it also ignited a disturbing thought within you. But that thought was quickly halted when he noticed your lack of attention on him.
He hated that your attention wasn’t on him.
An annoyed growl rumbled in his throat as he moved back, quickly going down the length of your body and ripping your shorts down your legs, exposing you to the cold air.
“Jin wait-” It felt as if all the air was sucked out of your lungs as he ignored you, plunging his face directly in between your thighs.
He was unlike any of the partners you had had before. He did not take his time even though he evidently had plenty of it. He didn’t warm you up with gentle words, pleasing touches, or lingering kisses. Instead, he was absolutely ravenous. It was just like he said, he was hungry. But you, on the other hand, had not been prepared in the slightest for how sensitive you would be.
You could only whine in discomfort as you tried to clench your thighs closed, one hand coming down to push at his shoulder. Your actions were completely useless, no matter how much force you could use it was like pushing against a concrete wall - he was immovable.
You could feel him growl in annoyance which only sent a shock throughout your body, your hips twitching and your shoulder blades digging into the mattress. His fingers were harshly pressing against your thighs, forcing them open wider and hooking your legs over his shoulders so that he could get impossibly closer to you.
“Too - too much!” You barely managed to get the words out, your body jolting from sharp bursts of pleasure.
“Be a good pet and take it for me,” He crooned, parting from you for a mere moment to look up at you - his bright crimson eyes cutting through the darkness that had steadily filled the room. “I thought you said you would do anything to keep your life?”
You couldn’t explain the feeling that his words gave you, but the shame that lingered was recognizable. Shame that enduring pleasure to ensure your survival was an addictive cocktail of emotions.
You couldn’t even form a response in time before he returned back to his feeding, his soft lips and firm tongue caressing you in a way that made you realize he was actively trying to make you feel good instead of solely focusing on gorging himself on your blood. You had no way of knowing that that just made the feed all the more enjoyable, the rush of hormones in your body only adding to the flavor. It was a flavor he already knew he was addicted to and while he was reluctant to admit it to himself, it was a flavor he could not live without.
And with each feed there were more problems to come. While he knew his blood, saliva, and venom were incredibly intoxicating to your weakened human state - he underestimated the effect you would have on him. With all of the hormones his bite coaxed out of you there was one pesky one that affected him: oxytocin. It was a bonding hormone, one that fostered a relationship between feeder and donator which was why so many vampires rarely fed from the same human more than once typically preferring to drain the body dry and dump it anywhere to rot.
He was willingly making himself vulnerable to you all in order to get another fix, another hit of your blood. And the worst part was, he didn’t mind.
“Jin!” You cried.
He was disgusted with himself, disgusted by the way his body shuddered and was aflame with tingles at the mere moan of his name rolling off of your lips. It was nothing special, countless others had done it before you, but he couldn’t understand why it was you. Why were you special?
He could blame it on the damn hormone bond all he wanted, but this was only the second feed which meant, to his utmost horror, it was him. His interest in you, a human, was more than just superficial desire.
Oh, how far he had fallen.
He smelled your salty tears and he could even see the gleam of them as they rolled down the curves of your cheeks as your hips pitched forward, broken whimpers wracking your body that only served to drive him crazier. He could drown in you and it still wouldn’t be enough.
And as soon as all of the tension within you snapped he was digging his fangs into the meat of your thigh, fresh, hot blood rushing over his tongue and down his throat. The blend was intoxicating for not only him but for you as well - the bite secreting venom that doubled the effects of all of his efforts that lit your brain and body on fire. You could become addicted to him just as easily as he was to you because that feeling, that feeling was indescribable and would never be able to be replicated by anyone but him. Just as he was chasing you for his fix, you could easily see yourself doing the same.
When you came too, you were startled by the gentle touch of his tongue to the puncture wounds on your thigh. It soothed over the cuts rhythmically, urging the skin to sew itself back together again. And while he worked, he stared. Bright, crimson red eyes were trained on you. His gaze dark and dangerous. Your body that had once been limp and relaxed immediately tensed once more. The knowledge that a predator was nestled into your lap was enough to reignite fear in your chest. You feared that the slightest twitch or breath would signal for him to lunge again, but this time the outcome would not be so pleasurable for you.
But Jin was a man of his word. You didn’t die that night and your bank account was fed in due course.
This continued for the next six days. Whereas before it seemed like the vampire was able to abstain from feeding for as long as he wished, he had now become ensnared by a ravenous, bottomless hunger. And that was all the more frightening. But what was even more frightening was the way he began to change.
He was still rude, cold, and dominating. But he had become ever present. His closeness could be described as suffocating. The only solitude you could find was in the daylight, but the minute the sun began to set he was back and hungrier than before. And after the…feeding, he would linger. He would touch you more often, his words still snarky but lacking their usual bite. It was like he was becoming comfortable around you. He was still insufferable, but undeniably comfortable.
It was that comfortability that encouraged you to entertain that dark thought you had tried to smother before. Your ever present fear of death could easily be solved, the answer to your problem mere inches away from you. You understood the gravity of the situation, what it would mean to become something like him. But you couldn’t deny the truth that you could live with ending the lives of others if it meant you could sustain your own. You didn’t want to die, you couldn’t fathom dying, and you had an undead man at your disposal. If he was willing.
It was after your seventh session together that you decided to finally ask him. His cherry red lips were pressed against your throat, swallowing every last drop of blood that slid down your skin. Your neck stung and your body thrummed with ecstasy, your fingers cupping the back of his head on reflex - moving without your permission.
“Jin?” You asked.
He hummed in response, visibly enthralled by the feed but letting you know he was listening anyway.
“I want to be like you,” You whispered.
A slick pop echoed in the room, his fangs pulled from your neck and retracted into his mouth, disappearing from sight. His eyes narrowed, his dark brows drawing together in confusion and distaste.
“No,” He simply said, retreating to the foot of your bed.
“Why not?”
“Because you would be useless to me, that’s why. What good is a donor that’s dead?” He scoffed.
You couldn’t deny the ache you felt in your chest, the sting that “useless” struck against your heart.
“You’re…you’re going to grow tired of me eventually. I’ll get old, I won’t taste as good anymore. Then, I’ll be useless.”
“Oh, I plan to savor every last drop that you can offer. I won’t let you go to waste like that, you are mine after all.”
“And what’s that supposed to mean? You’ll just kill me before I go bad? Put me out of my misery before I can rot? I’m a fucking human being not a piece of meat!” You yelled, angrily standing up from your bed.
You expected him to become enraged, to become violent. But if anything he was deathly calm, still, and silent.
“Wouldn’t that be a kindness,” he stood from the bed, now towering over you, “To not have to grow older, to be in pain? To just stop here where you’re perfect, when you’re young and beautiful?” He said with a soft caress down your cheek.
“But you could give me what I want,” You pleaded, “You would never have to see me again, I could go far away and I wouldn’t be your problem anymore.”
A frown pulled at his lips, frustration falling over his features, “It’s not as simple as that. You would be bound to me, there are rules about these things.”
“Rules? Like laws, is there someone in charge of you?”
“Don’t bring that Twilight bullshit into this,” He hissed, running his hands through his hair in what appeared to be distress.
“Then I don’t understand, why can’t you do this for me? I’ve done everything you’ve asked! I’ve given you everything you wanted so that I could stay alive! Why can’t you understand that I don’t want to die!”
“Because you don’t understand what you’re asking for!” He snapped.
In that moment, he was brought back to that fateful day all those years ago. Yoongi had warned him, he had tried to stop him and he hadn’t listened. And now, he was being faced with a painful reminder of his naivety and arrogance when he stared back at you. Jin never regretted becoming a vampire. He never regretted his inability to grow old or the only way he was able to satiate his hunger. He enjoyed it. But if there was anything he didn’t enjoy, it was being under the control of someone else.
“We would be connected for the rest of eternity. Anything I ask of you, you have to do. You can’t deny me even if you tried. And even if you ran, you would eventually come back whether you wanted to or not. I would be your sire, your creator, you couldn’t hurt me no matter how badly you want to. We would be stuck together, do you understand?”
If there was anything he was afraid of, which he would never admit to, it would be having to rely on someone like that. It would be loving you, obsessively loving you like he felt the desire to creep over him. While he refused to admit it, all of those feeds had done their toll. He could feel the tugs of a weak bond forming between you - begging to be strengthened by a little of his own blood and a swift death. If you stayed human, he could save you from the fate he suffered through. And if he killed you, then no one else could have you. It was insane, but to him it was incredibly logical.
You had been quiet for quite some time, your face pensive before you finally spoke.
“That doesn’t sound all that different from our current arrangement.”
“Ugh, you’re insufferable!” He yelled, grabbing the closest thing to him and flinging it across the room in a show of strength and anger. So this was what Yoongi felt like.
“You’ve exhausted your usefulness to me,” He spat in rage, “Good luck defending yourself on your own.”
And just like that, he was gone. The only remainder of his presence was the broken chair that lay in pieces on the ground and the huge dent in the plaster from where it had hit.
You couldn’t stop the sudden wave of tears that poured down your face. That had been your only way to cheat death, and he wouldn’t give it to you after you had given him every piece of yourself that he had asked for.
The silence was loud, your sniffles and your pounding heart painfully apparent. But what was even more apparent, was the sense of paranoia steadily creeping over you.
What did you have to defend yourself from now that he was gone?
~~~~~~~
Jin was starving.
Even he was not so thick-headed that he couldn’t see what he was doing. He was throwing a temper tantrum.
He had left you for a month now in what was supposed to be a break that would teach you a lesson. You weren’t allowed to make demands from him, you weren’t the one in control. But if there was anything he had learned from his pathetic plan, it was that you were very much in control.
You had managed to burrow your way into his unwilling, stone cold heart. A feat that no one in his human and vampiric life had managed to do. The very thought itself made his stomach turn. He had never had to depend on anyone else, he never wanted commitment in that sense. Yet here he was yearning for you, a pathetic little hermit. His pathetic little hermit.
He let out an audible groan, collapsing back against one of the velvet couches in the club. The blue and red lights flashed over his face, his stomach rumbled in pain. He had thought it would only take a week for you to break, just a few days before you apologized and begged for him to come back. But he had greatly underestimated you.
It had been a month and he hadn’t fed. Everyone else paled in comparison, their blood sitting on his tongue like spoiled milk; he couldn’t even manage to swallow a drop. And that was completely his fault. This was why he was warned not to keep feeding from the same source. You were bonded now and he was suffering because of it.
He had never felt so backed into a corner before. And the fact that it was all because of a human was just salt in the wound. He thought that time would sever the bond but in reality, distance had just made it grow stronger.
Even now he was certain that he could smell your scent sifting through the hazy air, it’s tendrils beckoning him to come find you.
It was the prick of his fangs against his lip and the sudden pool of saliva flooding his mouth that made him realize it was anything but a fantasy. You were there. A wave of satisfaction rolled over him, you had broken first in a stalemate that you were unaware of. He had won. But any excitement he felt about his win was quickly thwarted when he was reminded of the present danger. You, who smelled so heavenly, had once more crawled into a nest of vampires.
He quickly lurched to his feet, cutting through the crowds of vampires and humans alike in order to find you. You were in the most dangerous spot in Briar Hills and he could not protect you. His abstinence had greatly weakened him, he could only hope that no one else would be aware of that. He was the eldest there and he was in charge, that should be enough to keep everyone else away from you.
Well, all except one.
You hadn’t even seen her coming, her or her “friends.” You had just barely managed to step foot inside the bunker before she was ripping you back outside, moving so quickly that your head was spinning and your neck burned with whiplash.
You moaned in pain, one hand cradling the back of your neck while the other dug into the damp earth in an attempt to ground yourself from the violent pounding that vibrated all throughout your head. At first you were utterly dumbstruck, confused as to what exactly happened. But the swift kick of a pointy shoe to your ribs rolled you onto your back and allowed you to be faced with four pairs of glowing red eyes.
The pain in your head was quickly overshadowed by the hot shooting pain in your ribs. Your spinning head could just barely register the loud crack that had sounded when you were kicked. What looked to be an effortless, swift strike from her was enough to break your ribs.
“Hello sweetheart,” A familiar, sickeningly sweet voice crooned.
It was her, that vampire from a month ago. The one that Jin had saved you from.
Cold shocks ran through your body as you panted, grabbing your side as you tried to scoot away.
“Ah, ah, ah,” She teased, grabbing you by your ankle and roughly pulling you back. Another sickening pop echoed through the night as a violent scream tore its way free from your throat.
“Now, I’m not letting you get away from me so easily this time. You really pissed me off, and now you’re going to give me what I want.”
You had no time to react and nowhere to run to. She and her friends descended on you like a pack of hungry vultures. They ripped at clothing and jostled you around like a toy they didn’t want to share. And all four of them dug into you. With Jin, there had been little to no pain. But this was the worst pain of your life. You could feel teeth digging into you, ruthlessly cutting through your flesh and ripping it apart. Hot, thick blood was pouring out of your wounds, drenching your skin and your clothes in an instant.
There was nothing you could do but scream, cry, and shake.
You were helpless and soon you were going to die. You had no doubt that they had every intention to bleed you dry. You felt like you were on the verge of passing out. Your greatest fear was suddenly becoming a reality and there was absolutely nothing that you could do about it. Death spared no one, especially you.
And for a moment you thought that death really had come for you because the pain was suddenly wrenched away.
You laid there, groaning in pain as you listened to what was happening. You could hear her low, sultry voice, the sounds of hits landing, and a deep, rumbling growl that shook you to your very core. It wasn’t death, but it was a close second. Jin had found you.
You forced yourself to open your eyes and look, you struggled to turn your head but when you did your heart dropped. Half of her group collapsed, in various states of injury. But Jin was the worst. He was barely managing to stand and he looked so weak. His cheeks were gaunt compared to the last time you had seen him, the veins beneath his eyes prominent and exposed. But worse of all, he was coated in his own blood. It stuck to him like an oil spill, pouring from wounds that were trying to heal themselves albeit very slowly. He wasn’t going to make it out of this; he was too hurt, too weak, too hungry, and outnumbered.
“I knew it,” Junghee giggled, her voice pitchy with murderous glee. “I could smell you all over her, you bonded with her!”
Jin said nothing. He wobbled, his chest rose and fell rapidly with angered breaths.
“Oh, how far you’ve fallen, Jin,” She sneered, “So high and mighty and look at you now. You’re no better than the rest of us - in fact you’re weaker than us! I’m so sick and tired of living under you and your rules, I think it’s time someone replaces that coven of yours. It’s time for a new jurisdiction.”
“I’ll give you one chance to get on your knees and beg for forgiveness,” He said with a deathly calm voice.
“I’m going to rip you apart and burn the pieces. And when I’m finished with you, I’m going to drain your little pet dry.” She said with a cocky grin.
Jin hummed in response, his head slightly tilting back as he thought. His eyes seemed to glow even more intensely in the dark, a ring of light shining around his irises as he spoke.
“That’s an interesting idea. Tear each other apart.”
You stared in shock as they immediately obeyed his command. It was mind-control, he could compel individuals to do his bidding. How many times had he used it on you and you had gone on unaware of it?
All four of them turned on one another, rushing at each other with abandon. It looked like they were marionettes, like someone else was controlling their limbs and forcing them to do as he commanded. You watched as the four of them attacked each other, clawing at their friends and prying their limbs from their bodies. The sounds were horrific. You could hear them screaming, crying, gurgling, and begging for it to end as they tortured one another. Black blood sprayed and stained their hands and faces as they ripped each other apart limb by limb.
Your stomach rolled at the sight, your wounds flashed hot with pain, and your ribs and ankle throbbed in sympathy as they violently mutilated each other until they couldn’t reach one another anymore - their limbs dismembered and useless.
You choked down the bile that threatened to escape your throat. They had tried to kill you, they were getting what they deserved. They were going to do the same to you and Jin.
Jin.
You caught sight of the vampire a few feet away from you. He had fallen to the ground after he had issued the command. His body was unnervingly still, his skin ashen and the sickliest pallor you had ever seen. He was dying, you were sure of it. That was something you had thought to be impossible for his kind but here he was proving you wrong. It was possible, but hard to do.
You felt a surge of adrenaline wash over you. You couldn’t let him die, he was your one chance to avoid that very same fate. You needed him just as much as he needed you. If you could help him then he would owe you. You could get the immortality that you were desperate for.
You cried out in pain as you rolled onto your side and crawled to him. Each inch you moved felt like you were being stabbed along the way. Your body was crying in protest but you were on a mission.
When you finally closed the distance between you, you could breathe a sigh of relief. He was hurt badly, but he was still “alive,” if not barely.
You grabbed him by his shoulders and slowly, painfully, dragged him into your lap. Your body threatened to crumble beneath his weight as you guided his head to the open wound on your neck. This was a risk, a really big risk. You were hurt badly and you had already lost so much blood, but you were sure that he would be able to stop.
“Come on, Jin,” You encouraged him, cupping the back of his head with your hand, “Come on drink, you need to drink.”
You felt a cool puff of breath on your neck, his nose slightly skimming over your pulse as the scent of blood pulled him out of unconsciousness. And as soon as he was awake, his predatory instincts took control. He lunged forward, wrapping you up in a vice like grip as he dug his fangs into the already open wound.
You hissed but held still, allowing him to get his fill. He was scarily inhuman at that moment. Jin had fed from you many times, but he had never been like this before. Silent, overbearing, and territorial.
Your eyes began to flutter, they were feeling incredibly heavy and it was becoming hard to keep them open. You had lost too much blood, you were still losing too much blood.
“Jin,” You croaked, “You need to stop.”
He ignored you and continued drinking, only digging his fangs in harder to force more blood from your throat.
“Jin please stop, please,” You cried, “You’re going to kill me!”
When you realized he wasn’t responding, that he was too enthralled by the feeding frenzy, you began to fight. You tugged at his hair, pushed at his shoulders, kicked at him with your good leg but it all was for nothing.
He let out an animalistic growl, squeezing you tighter before roughly shoving you to the ground and pinning your wrists above your head. He groaned in delight as your fighting ceased, as your blood flowed more easily into his waiting mouth.
You were fading fast, your visions steadily beginning to black out around the edges. He was going to kill you, and just like before there was nothing you could do about it. You were utterly helpless.
Your own desires would be your downfall. Just like Icarus, you had flown too close to the sun.
~~~~~~~
When Jin came to, he was confused.
He couldn’t remember anything after he had ordered Junghee and her coven to dismember one another. But when he became aware, he quickly figured out what had happened. Their corpses were sprawled about, their limbs still occasionally twitching.
And you were there, scarily still in his arms with the remnants of your blood on his lips.
He didn’t expect a wave of grief to wash over him. He hadn’t felt that even when his own family died or when he watched them mourn the loss of a son that never truly perished. But the sight of you, your broken body limp in his arms was enough to force a choked sob out of him. It was painful, it was complete and utter despair.
It was in that moment that he realized he did love you. In some horrific twist of fate, he loved you. He once thought that he would be able to kill you, then no one else could have you. But he didn’t anticipate the pain that it would cause him.
A soft, weak flutter halted all grief he felt. It was your heart. Your little human heart was still trying to beat. You could still be saved.
That was how he ended up here, with the only person he knew that could fix you.
“So, this is what you’ve been doing with all your free time.” Namjoon hummed, checking over your vitals.
Jin stayed quiet, nervously clenching and unclenching his fingers. At that moment, he understood what Yoongi went through. If he believed in karma, which he didn’t, he would have been able to appreciate it. This was what he deserved after what he put Yoongi and the fledgling through. But Jin was far more determined to keep you human than his “brother” ever was.
But it was undeniable that he could finally understand him. He finally knew what Yoongi was trying to protect him from all those years ago.
“Junghee really did a number on her. I’ve given her an awful lot of my blood to heal her wounds. It would just take one quick break, Jin. You said it yourself, this is what she wanted.” He mused.
“She’s my pet, nothing more. She’s useless to me as one of us, I want to make her last as long as I can.” He said with a warning glare.
“It’s useless, you know, lying to me. I could smell it on you the second you came through the door. You bonded with her, she’s yours now. Do with her what you will, but she will join us soon. Whether it’s you or me, well that’s entirely up to her. But I have a feeling she would let any of us do it at this point.”
“You wouldn’t-”
“Oh, but I would. Remember this, everything I do is for our family. You helped me with Yoongi, you understood then what I was trying to do. You can keep playing with her for a little longer, but she will join us. Don’t make me command you, Jin.”
Jin’s back stiffened, that familiar tug in his brain was there. That feeling that he needed to fulfill his creator’s wishes. And so, he bought himself some time.
“I don’t think it’s her you need to be worried about,” Jin said, that cocky edge to his voice back once more.
“Oh really?” Namjoon asked, leaning forward in interest.
“When was the last time you checked in on Hoseok?”
Namjoon’s brows furrowed in thought. Jin had got him, this was what he was good at - misdirection.
“Hoseok too?” He mumbled to himself. “Don’t you find it odd that this is all happening now? Yoongi and the fledgling, you and your pet, Taehyung and the little human he keeps in his studio, and now Hoseok? How interesting.”
He knew about Taehyung? But he hadn’t said anything about Jimin or Jungkook. He didn’t know everything. He had two more bargaining chips to buy himself more time.
“Watch over her, make sure she doesn’t hemorrhage. You’ve done a good thing, Jin. Thank you.” Namjoon said before briskly leaving the room - his office that now served as a hospital for you.
He wasn’t so sure that he had done a good thing. He was paying for what he had done to Yoongi now, what would come to him next now that he sold out Hoseok. And what about Jungkook and Jimin, what would happen when he revealed their secrets as well.
That was all he could think about as he waited for you to wake up. Namjoon’s blood was doing a thorough job. He was old and strong and because of that your body was mending itself incredibly quickly.
The only thing he hated was that you smelled like him. It was Namjoon’s blood in your body and because of that you were practically emanating his scent. Your normal heavenly essence was murky in the haze of his creator’s and it would take some time for it to dissipate. He was going to have to live with it for the time being. For now, he needed to figure out how he was going to protect you from the fledgling and from Hoseok. One was hungry and the other was certainly going to be pissed with him.
But if he could keep you like this for a little while longer it was worth it.
Your heart monitor was starting to accelerate, the beeping became loud and frequent. You were awake.
He slowly raised his head to look at you and he felt his stomach drop. You were giving him the thousand yard stare, your frail body tense on the mattress. You were utterly and completely frightened of him.
Your name left his lips in a hushed whisper as he stood, moving closer to your bedside. You shrieked and huddled into the furthest corner that you could.
“Stay away from me!” You yelled, crossing your arms over your chest in an attempt to block yourself off from him.
“I’m not going to hurt you,” he said, his tone the softest it had ever been, “I don’t want to hurt you.”
“Let me go, I want to leave. I don’t want to see you ever again, I want to go home!” You were rambling now, every frightened word running out of you with a gasp.
“You can’t leave, it’s too late now.” He said apologetically. He had never apologized before.
“I want to leave!” You screamed again, “You tried to kill me! You said you wouldn’t but you did! You lied, you’re a fucking liar!”
“I’m in control now, that’s never going to happen again I swear.”
“You’re a fucking liar!” You screamed again, your words trailing off with a broken sob.
He had felt grief when he thought he had killed you, but now he was experiencing heartbreak. His first, genuine heartbreak. He thought seeing your lifeless body was bad, but this, this was somehow worse.
He was suddenly overcome with the urge to comfort you, to hold you. And so he tried. The second he picked you up you began to writhe, screaming obscenities at him and clawing at his skin. You were trying to do anything you could to get away from him.
The last time he had held you like this, held you this close, he had tried to kill you. Your body and mind were completely in survival mode now and you needed to get away from him.
But he wouldn’t let you budge. He pulled you into his chest and wrapped you in a tight embrace, pinning your arms in between the two of you so that you couldn’t hurt yourself while trying to hurt him. All you could do was scream and cry and writhe but eventually your body went lax when you realized it was pointless. There was no escape.
Your brush with death had only made you more frightened of it. You had met that dark, empty void and the void had stared back at you. What some might have found to be peaceful, you had found to be terrifying. And, as a result, you were terrified of Jin. He had brought you to that void and your body was certain he would escort you back.
“I’m sorry,” He finally said, the words not burning him like he once thought they would for the longest time. “I’m sorry.”
You sniffled as you limply laid in his hold. You could feel the soft touch of his lips against your cheeks, collecting your tears as they brushed by in the lightest of kisses.
“Never again,” He mumbled, “I promise.”
You whimpered once more, the word liar echoing in your mind.
“I’ll give you what you want, I swear. You’ll never be that close to death again, I’ll keep you safe. Just give me time.”
You slightly perked in interest. What you want…what you want. He’ll give you what you want. You tilted your head up at the same time he went to kiss your forehead, only for him to gently kiss you instead. He froze for a moment, still as a statue as he processed what he had done before he did it again, and again, and again. It was like he had discovered a new insatiable hunger that he couldn’t settle no matter how many times he tried.
“I love you,” He admitted so softly against your lips that you thought you had imagined it.
He loved you. He was going to give you what you wanted. You had almost died. He was a liar. Your mind was reeling.
“No one else can have you, not even death can take you away from me; because you’re mine, remember?”

Preview: “Then let me show you how persuasive I can be,” He breathed, resting his hands on the desk on either side of you.
He leaned in a bit closer to you, his eyelashes fluttering subtly as his gaze traveled over every inch of your face. It was almost as if he was just as mesmerized by you as you were of him. The only difference was the fact that your knees were trembling beneath your weight on the verge of collapsing, you were about to go boneless.
And he hadn’t even said a word.
A/N: It’s almost 2 in the morning and I am delirious from lack of sleep, that midnight motivation really had me in a chokehold. I’ll edit this tomorrow I just need to get it out so I can sleep tonight lol. As always, I hope you enjoy and I hope to see you in the comments and in my inbox 💜💜💜
Your lips were pressed together firmly as you exhaled from your nose.
Your fingers fiddled anxiously with the shiny pearlescent buttons of your coat, you were in one of those moods again. You didn’t like to put a name to the feeling, for as long as you could remember it was better leaving it as one of those things that were to be left unsaid. The only way you could describe it was a strange sense of claustrophobia in your own skin.
You thought that you had been doing better, it had been weeks since you last felt like this and you were so certain that you were on the road to recovery. But the feeling liked to creep up on you when you least expected it as well as at the worst times possible.
You wanted to be better, you really did, but that was part of the problem. Years of feeling like you could be better, like you were nothing, had dragged you down into this cyclone of wretched feelings. There were days in between where you felt “normal” but those days had so often been overpowered and thrown into the shadows by those horrible thoughts that never totally went away.
It was on days like these, cloudy, foggy, and wet with mist, that their words would echo in the back of your mind.
“Ugly,”
“Boring,”
“Worthless,”
“Fat.”
They reminded you, that despite the popular saying, their words had indeed hurt you. A broken bone will mend itself, a cut will clot and stop bleeding, and bruises will mellow and fade away. But words when hurled at someone like stones have the same pain as a physical wound. The only discrepancy? Their impacts make craters that last a lifetime and sometimes never go away.
You were living proof that this was something you don’t just “get over.” Despite your years worth of attempts, you were still the same. You still cried yourself to sleep far too often, pulled at the skin of your stomach and thighs, and begged for a metaphysical force to fix you because some days you didn’t have the strength to pull together your fractured pieces.
Even now, you could feel your arms subconsciously wrapping around yourself, your forearms pressing tightly against the flesh of your lower abdomen in an attempt to hide something that no one was looking at. That didn’t matter though, when you got to feeling like this, you could feel thousands of invisible eyes digging into every part of you that you despised.
But, according to everyone else, you needed to “just get over it.”
Oh. If only you could.
“Beautiful,” A voice mused beside you, it was deep and rich and startled you.
With a jolt, you stepped to the side and took a look at the man beside you. Almost immediately upon seeing him you felt your heart thud and your mouth go dry. If you didn’t know any better, you would have assumed one of the marble sculptures in the room had come alive and spoken to you, he was that gorgeous.
“What?” You breathed, your brows pinching together in a show of confusion.
“Beautiful,” He repeated, a soft smile on his lips as he looked at you.
You had heard what he said, but once more you had become distracted by him. His eyes were a rich, burgundy color. A blend of dark brown and hues of russet. They weren’t totally dark, but they weren’t a true red. But what they were, was stunning. What you would give to find a color match for those intense irises of his.
He was looking at you now with an amused smile, one that had you coming to the realization that he must have been talking about the art piece that was hanging on the wall in front of the two of you because how could he be talking about you?
“Oh, oh!” You chuckled with a shake of your head, “It is beautiful, isn’t it?”
You gestured towards the piece in front of you, your teacher persona sliding into place seamlessly. “Are you familiar with Vante?”
His lips pressed together in amusement like he was stifling a laugh. His fingers grazed his mouth in an attempt to hide a smile that was struggling to free itself. But you, you didn’t notice, you were far too enraptured with his hands. Your own fingers twitched, the sudden need for your sketchbook overtaking you. You weren’t so sure if you were a great artist, you tended to have problems coming up with ideas and relaying them on paper or whatever medium you desired. The analogy that you liked to use was that of a printer, you were good at seeing an image and copying it down by eye. But originality? That was hard to come by and that drew another tally under your column of self-contempt. But, in spite of all of those feelings, you had an even stronger urge to immortalize him in your own binds of paper. You were certain you would never see a more attractive man for the rest of your life.
“I can’t say that I am.” He finally managed to say, the corners of his eyes crinkling with his smile that was even more unique than the rest of him.
And before you could stop yourself your mouth began moving and words poured out of your lips like it was your last chance to speak.
“Oh! You should see his entire gallery, it really is impressive how many works he has! I swear, he has to be one of the rare artists that has somehow mastered all mediums, but he really thrives in photography and painting. Well, I am a little biased considering those are all of my favorite pieces, but I also know I’m right.”
“Really? You think he’s that good?” He said with a slight tilt of his head.
“Of course! I’ve never seen anyone else be able to capture emotion in a piece like he can. The use of color, techniques, and brush strokes! It all seems so deliberate even in his most relaxed works!”
“Hm, what do you think of this one then?” He mused, gesturing to the painting on the wall.
“Oh, this one is my favorite.” You smiled, “It’s not one of his most popular works but I just love it so much. I think it may be the model, perhaps. She’s so lovely, so perfect from this view. You can just tell how much he admired this woman but there’s also a degree of mourning from the use of color. It’s a very complicated piece, emotion-wise, of course.”
“She looks pretty average to me.” The man said with a wrinkle of his nose. “Maybe he did like her, but this seems more of like a ‘good riddance’ than a ‘please don’t go’.”
“What? No way, there were obviously some strong emotions here. For instance, the use of red on the pillows for passion and the cool blues of the curtains for mourning, they contrast perfectly while also blending seamlessly at the edges. That would suggest the dying flames of passion for sure.”
The man shoved his hands into the pockets of his coat before turning to look at you fully, a soft smirk on his face. “Did you ever consider that maybe he had blue curtains for no other reason except that he really liked the color blue? Or maybe that the pillows were already there when he decided to paint?”
You stopped for a moment, your mouth hanging open as if you were getting ready to fight the very notion but you had nothing. “I...you know what? I think I spent a lot of money at a really expensive school to just stand here and analyze pillows.”
That one made him laugh and God was it contagious, so contagious that you found yourself laughing alongside him. And that was when the embarrassment finally kicked in, heat flooding your face as you realized that you had incessantly talked his ear off about something he may not even be interested in.
“Hm...I think you’re right. The painting is beautiful too.”
Too? Surely...he couldn’t have been talking about you before? Right? You couldn’t fathom the idea that there was even a slim chance he was talking about you of all people. Not when he himself walked around like a Grecian statue come to life.
So you did what you did best when you were nervous, you kept talking.
“He’s rather interesting, you know, beyond his work.”
The man’s face perked up once more in interest, his body shifting closer to you sending more floods of heat to your face. “Really how so?”
“Uh, well,” You swallowed, attempting to gather yourself, “He’s been active since the 1920s, but somehow works are still being produced under his moniker.”
“Hm...and how do you think that’s possible?”
“Well, the only conclusion I could come to is that he has an artist guild of some kind, a devoted group that studied his techniques close enough to produce works similar to his. But, if that’s true, then they have been doing a great job of keeping their existence a secret. The pieces keep getting produced but no one has ever come forward and said anything. Logically there would be at least one person who couldn’t keep it to themselves, you know? I mean, that’s why his works are only considered ‘genuine’ from his first piece in the late 20s to about the 80s and...I’m talking too much aren’t I?”
“No, not at all, I want to hear what you have to say.” He smiled, his gaze trailing over your parted lips.
“Oh.” You dumbly choked.
“What about his recent work? How do you feel about that?”
He was good at pushing and pulling you like the gentle low tides of the ocean. He knew how to surprise and soothe you like he had known you all your life. With those two simple sentences, your bashfulness was forgotten.
“Should I be honest?”
“Brutally.” He encouraged.
“I hate it.”
“You hate it?”
“I loathe it. Not many people would agree with me but you can admire someone without expressing complete devotion. I think, in part, the question of the genuineness of the works affects my opinion. But more so I find myself not being able to connect with it. It feels tired, repetitive. It lacks that spark and eagerness that his earlier works possess. These just feel like copies of the originals.”
Your companion had fallen silent beside you. A focused and somewhat bitter look appeared on his strong features. Oh, there was no doubt in your mind that you had managed to insult him with your opinion. After a few moments of silence, he finally spoke, raising his head so that his intense irises could connect with your own.
“There are quite a few people that would disagree with you.”
“Hm? Oh, I’m certain there are. But at the end of the day, it’s my opinion and I don’t really want to change it. Besides, he is just another dead artist isn’t he?”
“Teacher?” A little voice asked in time with a sudden pull on the hem of your coat.
Upon looking down you were met with one of your students, a little girl in a school uniform with adorable little plaits in her hair.
“What is it, Eunseo?” You asked gently, bending slightly at your knees to get a better look at her, your gaze flickering between her and your companion who was observing the interaction with keen interest.
“Yejun went under the rope and won’t come back.” She said, urgency in her voice as she pulled at her skirt.
“Under the rope…” You uttered before you finally put two and two together.
Your eyes flew open wide as you looked all around the room, and sure enough, there was Yejun who had managed to crawl under the velvet rope that blocked off guests from the art exhibits. He was incredibly close to a rather large marble sculpture and, to your absolute horror, was trailing his fingers all over it.
Today you and their regular teacher had taken your kindergarten art class on a school field trip to the museum that was about an hour and a half outside of your small town: Briar Hills. At first, you had been rather excited to show the adorable kids something you were so passionate about. But that morning had proven to be trifling. You and one other person were in charge of a class of twenty students. You had barely managed to get them all on the bus and keep them occupied for the long (long for them) trip.
Yejun was a sweet little boy, he was rather quiet and tended to keep to himself but other than that he was a fantastic student when it came to six-year-old art, of course.
Your heart was pounding in your chest from a mixture of embarrassment and fear. You could already hear the museum director banning you from the establishment. What would everyone think of you? What about Yejun’s parents?! Oh god, his parents. But more importantly, what about Yejun? That piece was so old. What if there was a fault in the marble? What if one wrong touch made it crack and fracture and fall on top of him?!
You quickly took hold of Eunseo’s hand and rushed over to the exhibit where your class as well as their teacher had already gathered, your companion left behind, forgotten.
“Yejun, come back here right now!” Their teacher was whisper yelling in an attempt to get the young boy’s attention without attracting the other guests.
Yejun paid her no mind, his wide brown eyes trained on the sculpture in front of him, his little fingers grazing the base of it and whatever was within his reach.
“Yejun! If you don’t come back here right this instant you are going to be in so much trouble!” She cried, attempting to scare him into returning.
Yejun did not care.
Your hands grasped the velvet rope tightly, the plush material collapsing slightly under your grip. You could feel Eunseo still tugging at your skirt, a panicked look on her face that you were certain matched your own.
You whipped your head from left to right and all around, trying to see if anyone was approaching. Your heartbeat quickened in stress as you realized that more and more of the guests were beginning to realize what was going on. It wouldn’t be long before the curator or the director came by and then you would really be in for it.
Your gaze settled on the man once more, and to your surprise he didn’t seem as concerned as everyone else was. His expression was unreadable but his face was intense, he was watching your every move with laser focus. Those dark, burgundy eyes were digging into every part of your body, from head to toe.
You let out a shaky breath, allowing yourself to close your eyes for a moment before you decided what you were going to do.
“Fuck it.” You mumbled before sliding under the rope exactly like Yejun had done.
You approached him slowly so that you wouldn’t startle him. You couldn’t describe the feeling that was swarming you. You had seen that particular sculpture many times before, but looking at it now closer than you had ever been before from angles that you had never seen in person, it was uncanny. Like a school at night-time, or an empty playground, or a grocery store at two in the morning, it felt uncanny.
“Yejun,” You kindly called, attempting to mask your anxiety with a soft smile.
The little boy wobbled unsteadily as he suddenly turned from the sound of your voice so close. He smiled after a moment when he realized it was you.
“It’s very pretty isn’t it?” You said, inching closer to him with your smile still in place.
“Very, teacher,” he grinned, “I couldn’t see from over there.”
“Yeah, it’s not very fair that they make us stand so far away, huh?” You fake sighed before squatting down a few feet behind him, he was almost in grabbing distance.
“You know, if you let me, I could pick you up and then you could see it even better. Wouldn’t that be cool?”
The little boy’s eyes lit up in pure excitement at the idea, a wide grin spreading over his chubby cheeks, “Really?”
“For real,” You said, your smile tight and uncomfortable on your face. The quicker you convinced him the faster you could get out of there and hide yourself away in the back of the school bus in embarrassment.
“Okay!” He agreed enthusiastically before rushing into your arms.
Your hand cupped the back of his head, your other arm winding around his back before you lifted him up securely in your arms. You rushed back to the velvet rope, carrying Yejun back to his classmates as he whined out protests when he realized you had lied to him. One day, he would realize that you needed to lie to him for his own good.
You set him down in front of his regular teacher, her hand quickly wrapping itself around his wrist and keeping him by her side.
“We should take them back to the bus before anyone else notices what happened.” You said to your coworker, her cheeks flushed in embarrassment.
You did a quick head count, making sure everyone was where they should be before lingering at the back of the group to make sure there were no stragglers. You were just relieved that you were finally leaving.
“Miss? May we have a word with you?” An authoritative voice sounded behind you bringing your group to a stop.
Fuck, you had been so close to making it out of there.
Your co-worker looked back at you nervously, her eyes darting between you and the man that was definitely the curator behind you.
“Get the kids back to the bus and take them to the school,” You sighed, “I’ll take the public bus home.”
You had been right when you thought that today was going to be a bad day, that feeling you had had warned you and you tried to ignore it.
Now look where that got you.
~~~~~~~
The fog was even thicker when you had finally left the museum.
It was a miracle that you, and the school by association, hadn’t been banned from ever returning. It had taken almost an hour of explanations and watery tears on the brink of running over for them to finally agree to not keep you and your class from ever coming back.
It was lucky that you were a regular there and that at least showed that you had some degree of respect for the museum. You weren’t so sure that the results would have been the same had you not been.
You wrapped your arms around yourself tighter, another attempt to give yourself a self soothing gesture. It was safe to say that you had just had your worst day ever, an actual nightmare come true. And now you were going to have to struggle with public transportation when you should be back in your classroom packing up for the day.
A quick glance at your phone showed you that it was already two o’clock, the school would be dismissing the students in half an hour and the bus ride back to the school would take at least an hour and a half. You could feel the familiar swirl of anxiety flutter in your stomach at the idea that your schedule had been so greatly disrupted. This was surely going to affect your lesson plans.
You let out a disgruntled sigh before pocketing your phone and beginning the walk towards the bus stop. But, with each step you took you became painfully aware of the second set of footsteps that were matching your pace perfectly, so perfectly in fact that it sounded like yours were echoing.
Given any other circumstance, this would not have alarmed you. But now here you were alone, separated from your students, and traveling through a thick fog and the eerie silence. It felt all too quiet despite where the museum was, no cars were passing by and even if they were you wouldn’t be able to see them, the fog so dense and menacing that not even a headlight would be able to permeate it if a driver were foolish enough to have them on.
All you could hear were the soft puffs of breath that parted your lips, the tap of your footsteps and the other’s, and all you could feel was the gentle touch of the breeze over your cheek. You were once again struck with that sickening feeling of the uncanny.
You hastened your footsteps and your heart jolted as the other set quickened their pace as well. You knew you weren’t thinking irrationally this time, there was intent in those footsteps. In a normal situation, the other person wouldn’t have rushed to match your pace, they would have continued on with their own business. Someone was vying for your attention.
You were feeling a mixture of emotions, but most prominent was confusion. How was this person even able to follow you? The fog was so thick that even you were struggling to make out the outline of the bus stop.
A sudden grip on your wrist forced a frightened shriek past your lips. The long fingers covering your skin were ice cold and firm as if a corpse had emerged from the fog and held you tight in its clutches.
“Hey, it’s just me.” A familiar voice said as you rested your hand over your heart that was violently pumping beneath your hand.
“It’s only me,” He smiled with a soft laugh, his burgundy eyes vivid in spite of the fog.
“You scared me,” You breathed, allowing your tense shoulders to relax.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to.”
Your hands softly dragged down your face tiredly before you spoke, “It’s alright, I’m just a little on edge after today.”
“Oh, you mean after you trespassed?”
“I - I didn’t trespass!” You choked.
“That’s not what it looked like to me,” He said with a teasing smile. “And that’s definitely not what it looked like to the curator.”
“Oh really? Then how come I’m still allowed to come back?”
“Maybe because I put in a good word for you.”
“What? Why would your word matter?” Well, that came out harsher than you intended it to.
“You could say I’m an investor of sorts.”
“Well, why would you bother to help me then?” You asked, unused to favor free kindness. You could feel your eyes narrow and your brows pinch together, your body was set in defense, waiting.
“Oh!” His eyes lit up in excitement as his hands slipped down your wrist to cup your hand, pulling you closer to him and setting your cheeks aflame. “I want you to be my muse.”
As soon as those words left his mouth your blood chilled, an uncomfortable tightness wrapped itself around your throat and those thoughts returned, whispering your lack of worth in the back of your mind. He had to be lying, perhaps even playing a cruel joke on you, it wouldn’t be the first time.
“No.” You immediately spat out, attempting to tug your hands out of his hold only for his grip to tighten.
“What? Why not?” He asked, a look of pure shock evident in his stunning features, almost as if no one had ever denied him of anything.
“Look, we had a nice conversation and all but I don’t even know your name and-”
“Taehyung.” He immediately interrupted as if that knowledge would be enough to change your mind.
“Taehyung,” You repeated, causing a smile to curl his lips, “and I’m not interested in being portrayed as some oddity that’s so ugly that it’s beautiful. I’ve had enough of that in my life and I don’t need it with a perfect stranger.”
“Ugly?” He repeated, a look of intense disgust taking over his features, “How could you even think that?”
You remained silent as he continued to stare at you, waiting for you to form some kind of response. As you were thinking, you noticed the faint rumble of the incoming bus.
“The bottom line is that I’m not interested, find someone else to turn into a fun little project.” You firmly stated before successfully freeing yourself from his bruising hold and walking in the direction of the bus.
As the doors swung open and you began to take your first step inside you heard him call out to you.
“You know you’re beautiful, don’t you?”
You pursed your lips so tightly that it hurt, your body ramrod straight. And then you shook your head and fully entered the bus, the doors sliding shut behind you.
You refused to be a joke to anyone but yourself because, in the grand scheme of things, you believed you were a Picasso in a gallery of Rembrandt’s.
~~~~~~~
The rest of the week passed by without a hitch. You held your classes as usual, within the building thankfully, and your lesson plans had worked seamlessly which was already raising red flags in your mind. Due to your background, you tended to expect the worst when things were going considerably well. You wouldn’t say that you were a pessimist, maybe superstitious would be a better title.
And what was even more frustrating was that you couldn’t get him out of your head no matter how hard you tried.
Your mind was at war with itself. A part of you genuinely wanted to believe that someone like him could find you beautiful, but the other half was too emotionally battered to believe that, not even a little.
Your hand had been moving in endless circles and swoops almost mindlessly at this point with a pencil held tightly between your fingers. Your students’ work laid upon the drying rack, organic watercolor blobs stained the surface of the paper. You should be checking on them, you should be going over your plans for the next week, but instead, you were held fast in a bout of motivation.
You groaned in frustration, throwing your pencil aside as you slumped down into your chair. Multiple sets of charcoal eyes were staring back at you from the page. His stupid, perfect face had been burned into your mind and no matter how hard you tried to ignore it, it bled out of you and into your work.
Your fingers wearily rubbed circles into your temples in a soothing manner, why couldn’t you just forget? Why did you always have to dwell?
“Is that me?” A deep voice asked, the sound coming from behind your right shoulder.
A loud scream shot through the room, the wheels of your chair practically spinning out from underneath you as you quickly rose to your feet.
And, to your horror, you had not imagined his voice. Taehyung was there, in the flesh, standing in front of your chalkboard in your elementary art classroom. It would have been comical to see someone who looked so serious surrounded by finger paintings had he not scared the shit out of you and for the very fact that he was not supposed to be there in the first place.
“Why is it that every time I see you you’re always screaming?” He asked with a pout.
“How are you even here?!” You shrieked, slightly embarrassed by the fact that he was right while also wondering if you had the ability to summon people and you were just discovering it.
But, most importantly, you were worried. You had met this man one time and you hadn’t even told him your name yet he had somehow managed to figure out what school you taught at and even managed to find your exact classroom in the building. To be honest, you were frightened, and rightfully so.
“Hm? Oh, I spoke with the curator. He told me the name of the visiting school from that day and here I am.” He explained, pressing closer to you so he could see past your body to the sketches that littered your desk.
You frantically spun around, scooping the pages up and hiding them in a stray folder before putting them in your desk drawer and slamming it shut.
“You won’t let me see my own face?”
“You can look in a mirror, you have a reflection don’t you?” You shot back, your tone uncharacteristically hostile as he stifled a chuckle with wide eyes.
But who wouldn’t be in your situation? A man you had spoken to once had tracked you down like some stalker after asking you to be his muse. He had all the makings of a serial killer at this rate and if you had any sense of self-preservation you would be calling the authorities. The most dangerous people had the prettiest faces, didn’t they?
“You really should leave, as far as I’m concerned you're trespassing.”
“Well, how the tables have turned,” He laughed, “Don’t you even want to know what I’m doing here?”
“Oh, I know very well what you’re doing here and the answer is still no.”
“Well, I’m afraid to inform you that I’m rather persistent.”
“I can tell.” You said, your lower back digging into the desk behind you as you had nowhere else to go.
“Then let me show you how persuasive I can be,” He breathed, resting his hands on the desk on either side of you.
You were hit with a few sensations all at once. The first was his scent, it was almost indescribable but it was just so inviting. It made you want to lean into him and be drowned by it. The second was his eyes, they were even darker than before, bordering an onyx shade instead of the deep burgundy you had remembered. And thirdly, you were once more bombarded by his beautiful face. It was unfairly perfect, so perfect it would make the most talented sculptors cry. There was not a blemish in sight, just smooth, perfect skin. He had the longest eyelashes, the straightest nose, and not to mention the most perfectly proportioned and supple lips you had ever laid your eyes on.
Just like an innocent little rabbit, you had been cornered by the fiercest predator.
“I have so many plans for you,” he sighed, his cool breath ghosting over your neck. You hadn’t even realized just how close he had gotten to such a vulnerable place.
“Won’t you hear me out, honey?” He begged.
And there go your knees.
Before you could hit the floor he caught you beneath your arms and pulled you into his chest which shook with delighted laughter, “Well, I didn’t think it would go over that well!”
Your face had never felt so hot before. Not only were you incredibly attracted to him but you were also embarrassed, maybe even more embarrassed than you had been at the museum. You were going to blame it on your lack of male interaction. You had never received attention like this from anyone before, especially not from someone as beautiful as Taehyung.
And, maybe if you weren’t so distracted by him, you would have noticed quite a few things. The biggest thing was that despite the fact that your cheek was pressed up against his chest you neither felt nor heard a heartbeat. It was completely and utterly silent.
Taehyung chuckled to himself, picking you up from underneath your arms and spurring a squeak out of your mouth as he sat you down on your own desk. You released a few flustered breaths, pressing your hands to your cheeks in an attempt to calm yourself down. Taehyung occupied himself with his bag, popping it open and rummaging through it before removing a camera that was worth more than your own life.
After pressing a few buttons he clicked his tongue and spoke, “This was more along the lines of how I wanted to persuade you.”
He turned the camera towards you, showing you the screen. Once you had finally collected yourself, you lowered your hands and reluctantly looked at what he was showing you.
It was you, more specifically, it was you from that day at the museum. The picture had been taken from the side, you could make out your own expression, a blend of panic and relief. You could faintly see Yejun’s head, but his face was obscured by your own head. Your hand was delicately cradling the young boy and your head was slightly tilted back.
If you were being honest, it was the most flattering picture someone else had ever taken of you. And it was completely organic.
You could feel your eyes faintly stinging as an intense emotion welled up inside your chest. The days where you found yourself even remotely average were far and few in between, the ugliness of your thoughts vastly overwhelming your perception. But in this one moment, you felt pretty. And all you wanted to do was cry.
“I’ve been looking for someone like you for such a long time, I don’t think you understand just how much I need you.”
“I…I don’t know if-”
“At least give me a chance, just one session, that's all I ask. And if you don’t like it then you never have to do it again, I’ll leave you be.” He cut you off, his hands cupping yours once more, effectively drawing you into his magnetic trance again.
“Please, say yes.”
Your fingers trembled against his, they were so long and pretty and just perfect for his craft. They steadied yours, his fingers smoothing over your shaking hands. His onyx eyes were staring into your own, so big and so pleading you were struggling to say no.
It was just once, right? What could go wrong?
“Yes.”
~~~~~~~
Taehyung couldn’t deny the fact that he was a hopeless romantic.
Ever since he could remember he always viewed love through a fairytale-like lens. Love at first sight, dramatic twists and turns, and endless longing. But he could recognize his faults, and his fault was that he was known to fall in and out of love at an extraordinary rate.
He was nothing like Jimin though, his serial romantic friend. Jimin never sought love, only pleasure. The same couldn’t be said now of course, and Taehyung found himself marinating in a stew of jealousy. How could someone who so clearly avoids attachment be bound before himself? It simply wasn’t fair.
Taehyung had had his fair share of lovers over the years. If there was anything that Yoongi was right about in regards to immortality, it was that it could get lonely and fairly boring. But, none of his lovers had ever fully met his expectations. They fueled his art and therefore made him money, and they kept him well fed. But these muses never stayed around for long. When the inspiration melted away and the passion died, so did they. And then, it was like they never meant anything to him. They were merely obstacles in his way to finding true companionship.
Taehyung began to flip through the photographs that were spread over his table. These were his last works of his previous muse, his final bursts of inspiration before those flames of passion dwindled to embers and pitifully died out.
The first few pictures she looked happy, her cheeks flushed and glowing with her hair sprawled about around her, her body lounging on his bed. But as each picture progressed it became evident that something was wrong, there was fear in her eyes and it was exhilarating to him. And then there was the final picture, his masterpiece of her series.
Her body was still on the bed, but this time her limbs were limp with dead weight. Her eyes were glossy and empty, her lips parted from her dying breath. And his favorite part was the color. The sheets, the walls, and her clothes were white but were contrasted with the ruby pigment of her freshly spilled blood. Her throat had been ruthlessly ripped open, the red rushing down her pretty neck, over her collarbones, shoulders, and breasts, and all over the satin sheets. There were gorgeous strokes of blood over the walls from when his fangs had ripped at her major artery, geysers erupting from her writhing body. His ravenous hunger had always been a problem that he blamed on his previous life.
Taehyung winced at the feeling of his fangs descending on reflex from his gums, their sharpened points striking his tongue and drawing out a pool of black blood into his mouth. His tongue swiped over his teeth and fangs, hunger rumbling from his stomach.
Even though he was looking at her, he could only think about you. He could only see you in her place, curled up in his sheets, staring up at him with glistening eyes full of tears that were on the brink of spilling over. His breath was caught in his chest as he thought about licking up your tears, lapping at your lips, and drinking whatever you would give him. He was certain your blood would be the best he had ever tasted, the others bitter compared to your heavenly aroma and body.
And he knew that he wouldn’t have to wait much longer to have you. He knew that he didn’t want to kill you, not you, his one and only perfect muse. You had so much potential and he wanted to help you actualize that.
He could still feel the burn of anger he felt when you degraded his recent works, then again you had no way of knowing he was Vante. After all, it should be impossible. How could you even think that he was the same person? That still didn’t ebb his frustration. No, he would immortalize you in his own creations, he would prove to you he wasn’t boring and repetitive. You would make sure of that.
Being with you, it reminded him of the time before Namjoon. That was when he was young, reckless with his money, and driven for his passion. Creating had been as natural as breathing for him, it had been his purpose.
And then the stock market crashed and he lost everything, his fame, his money, his supposed friends. It was just him and Jimin in a cramped little shack just trying to survive. He would have gone crazy if it weren’t for his friend, Jimin kept him grounded, he had kept him sane. He was the only one that had stayed. And when Namjoon came along, offering them another chance at life, an easy way to satiate the constant hunger that gnawed away at him, he took it without another thought. He could regain his purpose, he could create forever and never die. He could be immortal.
And he loved it.
So, he had to kill a few people, they would die eventually anyways it wasn’t really that big of a deal. And it made him so, so, so creative. Who knew that blood could be a medium, it worked with paint. The only problem was that it never stayed its true, beautiful, crimson shade. It turned to rust, browning as the air ate away at it. That’s why he preferred photography nowadays, it captured the color perfectly and it never faded away.
His body was thrumming with excitement, he couldn’t wait to mold you into his perfect lover, his beautiful muse. You would be the Galatea to his Pygmalion, the creator that falls in love with their creation.
He knew you would realize just how beautiful you were when your bodies were tangled together and completely coated in blood, the perfect scene of sin.
He would never grow tired of you, his stunning Galatea.
Taehyung’s nose scrunched up at the sudden bouquet of aromas that flooded his nose, his eyes flicking up to look out the floor-to-ceiling windows of his studio. The studio was separate from the main house, surrounded by the thick greenery of the forest.
There was something special about each member of their “family.” They all had a heightened sense or gift they carried over from their previous lives and Taehyung’s was his sight. All vampires had better sight than humans, but none matched his own. He could see the furthest, the clearest, and the most. In pitch-black darkness, he could make out everyone in his vicinity with almost perfect clarity. And his peripherals were unmatched, he never missed a single movement that dared to even remotely enter his field of view. It had been overwhelming when he turned and woke for the first time, but now he cherished it more than anything.
He could make out someone running through the forest, the dirt spraying up from beneath their shoes, panicked gasps for air parting their lips as they dodged trees and branches in the dark. And slowly prowling behind them was Hoseok, his bright red eyes glowing in the shadows of the night.
Taehyung calmly stood, gathering his photos and putting them away before he opened the large glass door, stepping out into the night.
“Hoseok,” He greeted with a soft smile, running his hand through his own dark hair.
“Hello, Taehyung,” He greeted, coming to a stop in front of his fellow coven member.
“You wouldn’t happen to have anything to do with the human that just ran by would you?” He asked, knowing full well that Hoseok had everything to do with it.
“You mean my dinner?”
“Am I interrupting? You can go on, I just haven’t seen you in a while.”
“I’m not worried about it, it’s more fun to feed on them when they think they’ve gotten away.”
It was true that Hoseok didn’t seem the slightest bit worried that his prey was getting away, and that’s because he didn’t have to worry. Hoseok was the fastest vampire he had ever met and vampires were already faster than the average human. But all others of his kind paled in comparison to Hoseok. When Taehyung had first seen him demonstrate his speed he had thought the man had teleported. That human was not making it out of the forest alive, that was certain.
“I was visiting our little Jungkookie,” Hoseok said with a smirk, his head craning back as he slipped his hands into his pockets.
“Oh? So that’s where you’ve been. How’s the fledgling doing?”
“More like who’s he doing,” Hoseok chuckled. “He’s been hanging around this little human.”
“And they’re still breathing?” Taehyung asked in utter disbelief.
“Oh, don’t get me wrong, he’s still playing his games, he’s slaughtered any hiker that’s strayed off the trails. But the girl, well she’s still very much alive but she’s very weak. He’s been gorging himself, now that, that is very unlike him.”
“That….that is very strange.”
“Oh and there’s more, he practically ripped my head off when I approached him. I asked if he was willing to let me play one of his games with him and he snapped. He said ‘his human was off limits,”
“Are you going to tell Namjoon?”
“There’s not really a point in doing that, you know how Namjoon is with the young ones, they can do no wrong. I’ll leave him be for now, but he’ll be coming home soon. I told him it was only a matter of time before Namjoon came to get him himself.”
“You don’t think he’ll bring the human with him, do you?”
“I don’t know what game he’s playing this time, but if he wants to stir up trouble then yeah, I think he would.”
Their supposed family was already having enough problems with Yoongi’s girl and Jimin’s absence, Namjoon hadn’t found out about his little pet yet. The last thing that Taehyung needed was more problems with the introduction of another human. Not to mention, this would make it much harder for him to play with his own little project. Namjoon would be on high alert.
“I’ve kept you waiting long enough,” Taehyung finally said, breaking the silence, “Go on, enjoy your meal.”
“Oh, I will,” Hoseok laughed, and in the blink of an eye he vanished into thin air, or so it seemed.
And, not long after, a blood curdling scream echoed through the forest like a gunshot. And then silence settled into the night.
Taehyung stood still for a moment, an age-old question echoing through his mind that spurred a smile to stretch over his lips, “If a tree falls in a forest and no one is around to hear it, does it make a sound?”
But in this scenario he couldn’t help but think, if a human is ripped to shreds in the middle of the night and no other human is around to see it, did it even happen?
In the end, it didn’t even matter because no human would ever know about what happened that night. Not even the human that had been torn apart.
~~~~~~~
When Taehyung had sent you an address that led you to the edge of the forest at twilight you seriously thought about turning around and heading back home. If this didn’t scream “I’m going to kill you in the woods,” you didn’t know what did.
But you had made a promise, after all, Taehyung and yourself had agreed upon just one session, this was how you could repay him for putting a good word in with the curator. And, if you were being honest, you were chasing after that feeling he had inspired inside of you with that one picture. You wanted to feel pretty.
And he was incredibly attractive, there was that too of course. It wasn’t often you received attention from men like him or at least attention that was so blatantly obvious and in your face about it.
You stared at your phone in stress, your fingers twitching over the screen, they were trying to find something to do despite there being nothing there.
“Let me guess, Taehyung?” A voice asked.
Your head jerked up in surprise as you frantically tried to close your phone and slide it into your pocket.
The voice belonged to a man, a man that was so handsome he rivaled Taehyung’s looks. And the look on his face, now that was purely intimidating.
“Um, yeah, are you his roommate?” You finally managed to ask.
The man barely managed to conceal his scoff, his eyebrows drawing together in disgust, “Oh, yes, you could call it that.”
Well, that was an odd reaction.
“Well, would you mind pointing me in the right direction? Taehyung didn’t really give good instructions and-”
“How like him, come along,” He said with a roll of his eyes, turning on his heel to quickly disappear into the tree line.
“Oh, thank you…” You trailed off with a pant, struggling to keep up with his long and fast strides, realizing that you had never gotten his name.
“Seokjin.”
“Thank you, Seokjin.”
Said man glanced at you from the corner of his eyes, his gaze darting up and down your figure, “You’re not his usual type.”
That felt like a punch to the gut and paired with the painful twang in your heart that insult was made even worse. All at once a million horrible thoughts made their presence known in the back of your mind.
“I…I know I’m nothing special to look at but-”
“That’s not what I meant.” He said, confusion contorting his face. “You’re not as gorgeous as me of course, don’t take that too hard no one is, what I meant was that you’re quiet, withdrawn, and incredibly insecure. You’re different, that’s all.”
Well, that was kind of a backhanded compliment and a stroke to his own ego, but it was better than a lot of the things other people had said about you. You were just different, not ugly, not like Seokjin, just different. Different was a step up from what you normally thought. So, you would take it.
“Go on, he’s in there, tell him to watch his strays for me,” Seokjin said, gesturing to the studio a few feet away.
“You’re an acquired taste, aren’t you?” You asked with a tilt of your head.
The look on his face was enough to have you trying to stifle a giggle. He had not expected that at all.
“You’re not as quiet as you seem,” He scoffed before waving his hand at you in a shooing manner, “Run along, I’ve wasted enough of my day cleaning up after him.”
“Goodbye Seokjin.” You grinned before walking up the steps to the studio.
As soon as your feet touched down on the porch the door to the studio was ripped open, you hadn’t even had a chance to knock.
“Hello, darling!” Taehyung excitedly called, his hand quickly grasping yours and yanking you inside, the door slamming shut behind you. “You kept me waiting.”
“Well, it wasn’t very easy to find this place, especially at this time of day.”
“Oh, I forgot about that…” He trailed off, you could faintly hear him say words like “eyesight,” and “weaker than,” but the rest was unintelligible as he mumbled to himself.
You, on the other hand, were completely in awe of his workspace. The exterior had been eye-catching enough, its sharp modern angles and tall windows in the middle of the greenery of the forest were beautifully juxtaposed. But the interior was so inviting. The space was still very large and modern but was filled to the brim with beautiful works of art. Some of them were paintings, others were charcoal sketches, some were photos pinned to what looked like clotheslines strung from wall to wall. You could spot some smaller clay pieces and what even appeared to be an incomplete marble sculpture. And the smell, the smell was wonderful. It was fresh paper and cardstock and canvas laced with the prominent scent of paints. It smelled like home.
You couldn’t help but drop your bag to the side and travel through the room, looking at everything there was to be seen. If you were being honest, it was an artist’s wet dream. Everything in there was high end, some of the supplies so prestigious your meager teacher’s salary would never allow you to afford something so expensive.
The twilight tones of the day completed the room, the lingering glow of the departed sun accompanied by strokes of purple, ochre, and ultramarine in the sky casted an impeccable filter over the studio. It looked like a fauvist had painted the scenery in front of you and you were in awe.
But what really caught your eye was the collection of works that were all signed with the same signature: Vante. There were many works that were familiar, but there were even more you had never seen before. And being the dedicated art nerd that you were, you were struck by just how similar they were to his style. Everything about it screamed “original” and your heart was thumping so fast in your chest from the belief that you may be seeing works the world had never seen before.
“Are these real?” You asked, turning around only to realize that Taehyung had been mere inches away the entire time. The two of you were so close that your face almost brushed up against his.
“What do you take me for, a copycat? I can assure you every single one of those is genuine.” He said, his tone riddled in mock offense which was ruined by the amused smile on his lips.
“How did you even get these? I’ve never even seen some of these before.” You said, taking a few steps back.
Taehyung regained those steps, following you closely. “It wasn’t too hard, very easy if I’m being honest.”
“Easy? These would be worth millions, Taehyung! That’s far from easy.”
“Who said I purchased them?”
“If you didn’t buy them, how did you get them?” You continued to pry, your face set in determination.
And then it started to click together.
“Are you implying that you’re-”
He immediately silenced you with the soft press of his index finger to your lips which in response slightly parted in surprise from the unexpected touch.
“Questions can wait until after the session, you’ve kept me waiting long enough.”
“But, Taehyung-”
“Questions,” He paused, his intense stare freezing you to the spot, “After the session.”
You released a heavy breath from your nose, your silence speaking volumes as to how displeased you were. Taehyung pretended not to notice, instead he guided you by the wrist to where he wanted you to go.
There was a lounge set up in the corner of the room and with it were the supplies for the photo shoot. You could smell a strong floral scent from one of the boxes and upon further inspection you realized it was full of crimson red flowers of all different shades. Your nose scrunched up from the smell, it was overpowering and not exactly pleasant as some of the flowers did not compliment one another's aroma.
Beside that box was a garment bag with a label that let you know it was just as expensive as everything else in the room. But, the even bigger problem that was presenting itself was the fact that you had to change.
“Can I just wear what I have on?” You quickly asked, your fingers wrapping around your jacket and tugging it tighter around your body.
“Hm? No, it doesn’t match the vision I have for the shoot.” Taehyung said, looking up from the camera he was fiddling with to take in your outfit.
“It probably won’t fit anyways, just let me stay in this.”
“Darling,” He said with an exasperated sigh, “It will fit, go through that door over there you’ll find the bathroom. And don’t come out unless you have it on.”
God you were feeling sick to your stomach and you hadn’t even seen what was inside the bag. But all you could do was panic, the thought of someone seeing you even more vulnerable than you already were was enough to have tears pricking at the corners of your eyes and your lips trembling in fright.
“Remember, it’s just one session.” He said, gentler this time in an attempt to soothe you.
Just one session, you had agreed and you couldn’t back down now. It would probably take what, an hour at most? You could handle it, just this once. You hadn’t even tried, at least try, do it for yourself.
All of those positive thoughts almost immediately went down the drain when you entered the bathroom, stripped down to your undies, and uncovered what the garment bag had concealed.
There was a storm of emotions raging through your body. For one, the mirror above the sink was mocking you. Your eyelashes fluttered helplessly as you tried to avoid your reflection but there was no use, the mirror took up the entire wall. You could see yourself so clearly despite not wanting to and every flaw was glaring back at you. And, just like you always did, you picked and prodded and pulled at every inch of your body that offended you.
This was what you were afraid of. You were no better than an addict, relapsing back into the old behavior that you had been trying so hard to abstain from. But even your abstinence had harmed you because at the end of the day it was purely avoidance. And in that avoidance those dark thoughts festered and your anxiety grew exponentially.
The second problem was the dress. It was horribly revealing, well revealing to you. Despite its long flowy sleeves the dress had a dramatic plunging neckline and not one, but two leg slits that ran all the way up your waist. If you were being honest, you had no idea how you were going to wear a bra or underwear in such a dress.
But that problem had been partially solved for you. To your utter embarrassment, there were panties that were cut the correct way to be hidden from the leg slits hung inside the bag behind the dress. But there was no bra. You knew that there was no way to wear a bra with a neckline like that, but you were beyond embarrassed by the thought of going out there completely free in front of Taehyung.
This was already hard enough.
You leaned against the sink counter, harsh pants of air breaking your lips as you attempted to calm yourself. You were slowly losing it. So, in a panicked haze to just get everything over with, you changed as quickly as you could, your eyes trained to the floor almost the entire time.
And when you finally built up the courage to leave the bathroom you didn’t stray far from the door, your arms wrapped around your torso in an attempt to hide everything you didn’t want to be seen.
While you were busy panicking, trapped inside your own mind full of spiraling thoughts, Taehyung was extremely satisfied. To him, you looked absolutely perfect. And the dress had fit just the way he thought it would. So what he had cheated a little, his perfect vision allowed him to know just exactly what he was working with and he did enjoy looking at every inch of you. But it all worked out in the end, he had you here and his vision was finally coming together.
“Can I please wear something else,” You whispered, pinned to your spot by the door.
“You’re beautiful, why would you want to do that?” He asked, once more grabbing you by the hand and leading you towards the chaise.
“Please stop saying that.”
“But it’s true,” He sighed, guiding you into a seated position that looked pleasing to him before he began pulling the crimson flowers from their box.
“You remind me of women from renaissance paintings and romantic art, do you know what romanticism is darling?”
“Of course I do.” You said, pure offense blatant on your features.
There you were, he was slowly easing you back into things.
“Of course you do,” He chuckled before snapping the head of a rose off of it’s stem. For some reason, that made a pit settle in your stomach.
He continued his work, beheading flowers and placing them in your hair as his ice cold fingers were just barely brushing along the skin of your cheek, your jaw, and the column of your throat. You noticed him lingering there, his fingers and his onyx eyes mesmerized by the bared, vulnerable flesh.
“You look like all of the incarnations of beauty in sculpture and canvas, Psyche, Aphrodite, and Galatea. And yet still you’re far more beautiful.” He sighed, his fingers ceasing their work to gently caress your bottom lip.
You felt like you were on the brink of a heart attack.
‘You’ve done so well for me, you’ve been so good. Do you think you can hang on for a little while longer?” He gently asked, his fingers moving to trace the curve of your jaw.
He looked absolutely stunning. How could he compare you to all of those icons of beauty when he looked like that. There was such soft lighting in the room but it still managed to cast the most beautiful shadows over his face, emphasizing each perfect feature that you had mapped out before in your own sketchbooks.
All you could do was nod, your voice having left you along with your breath.
And so the session commenced.
It wasn’t as painful as you had thought it would be, not when you didn’t have to look at yourself. That made it much easier. Taehyung was good at what he did, he was great at direction and he knew exactly what he wanted. He made it easier for you, and for that you were grateful.
After what felt like a while to you, he paused, lowering his camera. His fingers tapped rhythmically along the top of it as he thought to himself before glancing at his wristwatch.
“I have to go and grab something else for the shoot, wait right here, I’ll be right back.” He finally said before setting the camera on top of a tripod and briskly heading outside.
Good, you could have a moment to breathe.
Instead of staying seated you came to stand, your legs, back, and bottom had fallen asleep and were begging you to move around and shake the numbness away. So, you decided to occupy yourself in the meantime.
You headed over to Taehyung’s desk. To your surprise it was fairly clean, there was a stray eraser and pencil here or there but no actual works. And that really didn’t make sense.
You weren’t particularly one to snoop, but you were inquisitive and that part of you was getting the better of yourself. So, you looked over both shoulders with a sense of paranoia before you began to open and close the drawers of his desk.
The first drawer you opened held a few items, but the ones on top caught your attention. There was a thick sketchbook and a dense folder beneath it. You checked your surroundings once more before you finally decided to flip open the sketchbook.
On the very first page you were met with yourself. You were shocked to say the least, but you too had been guilty of immortalizing Taehyung in your very own sketchbook. And that all would have been good and fine had you not come to realize that every single page was filled with images of you. The sketchbook bound one hundred and twelve pages.
The sketches started off fairly tame, some were of your profile, others a straight on view, and a couple were at a three quarter angle. All sketches that were intended to familiarize himself with your image. But as you turned each page, you became more and more disturbed.
There were photo references of you next to drawings of yourself, photos that you had never taken and never seen before. Some were of you in your classroom, some of you at the coffee shop, and more frighteningly were the images of you in your home.
But it only got worse.
There were drawings of you fast asleep, your t-shirt drifting away to expose a bare shoulder and the rest of your body from the waist down disappearing beneath the curve of your comforter.
And then things became pornographic.
Those too started off tame, sketches of your lips, your hands, and the shape of your body. But then it became too much, images of your body doing things that it had never done before, sketches of sexual acts that no one had been privy too. A stranger's hand holding you down and gripping you so tightly that purple and red bruises were left behind.
And you had thought those were violating and horrible, the more you flipped the worse it would get. The drawings became violent, chunks of your throat ripped apart, blood smeared over your face, neck, and waist, and bloody handprints littering your body. Sometimes you were screaming, other times your eyes were lifeless and your body still.
You had witnessed Taehyung’s grotesque and violent fantasies that he had kept hidden from you.
And you wished you had stopped at the sketchbook but you were already in too deep. You threw it away from you before dumping out the contents of the folder across the tabletop. And these were even worse because they were real.
There were so many different women in the pictures in varying states. But, from what you could tell, it always started the same. They looked alluring, stunning, and glowing with happiness. And each picture after showed them steadily fading away until it all ended the same. They all died gruesome deaths.
Most of the pictures were in black and white, the only color being the crimson hue of the thick pools of blood in their portraits. The women were sporting horrendous injuries that looked like they had been attacked by an animal. There were claw marks and teeth marks everywhere and chunks of their flesh missing from their bodies.
It was so horrible that it left you gagging, fighting the urge to not vomit up the contents of your stomach.
In a panic you turned, ready to flee the studio and try and find your way back to the road. But when you did pivot, you were face to face with Taehyung.
He didn’t exactly look upset, but he did sport disappointment on his features. He had changed his clothes, his pants and his shirt were both white, the shirt on the looser side exposing his pretty neck and some of his chest. And in his hand was a fairly large container that was filled to the brim.
“I wish you wouldn’t have done that, you told me you would be good. But, I suppose you would have found out eventually.”
And before you could even get a word in or try to confront him or even run, he gripped the container by the handle, braced the bottom and threw the contents of the container all over you.
A cry of shock and disgust left you as you felt it slap against your skin, hair, and clothes. It was sticky, thick, and ice cold. And when your eyelids were clear of the substance you finally opened your eyes and let out a piercing scream.
“Let me paint you red, darling,” He calmly said.
You were drenched in blood. The thick copper scent assaulted your nose, the sticky mess soaking into your dress and dripping down your skin in what could only be described as a scene from a horror movie.
You watched horrified as he poured whatever was left over himself, not even phased by the blood. He ran his soaked hands through his hair, slicking it back with the fluid as he watched you with a gaze that could only be described as hungry.
“It took me quite a while to collect all of this, let’s not let it go to waste.”
You stumbled backwards, panicked and distraught cries still leaving your body as you tried to make a run for it. But there was no use, you couldn’t escape a monster like him.
He caught you in his bruising hold, roughly spinning you around to face him before he pressed your lips together in an urgent and hungry kiss, effectively swallowing your screams. Although your eyes were closed in pure fright you could still make out the intense pulsating flashes of several cameras. He had various ones set up in the room on automatic timers. He had hidden them well enough that you hadn’t even noticed them.
You tried to pull away from him desperately but he had a grip that was firmer than steel, with his hand holding your jaw in place and the other wrapped around your back you had nowhere to go. Your head was starting to spin, not only from the screaming and the panic but from the lack of air. He wouldn’t let you go, his lips never leaving yours for long.
When he finally stopped kissing you, you took a breath, completely overstimulated from the scent of blood and roses, his bruising touches, and the never ending flashes of the cameras.
“Keep being a good girl for me, I’ve been so good for you. I didn’t feed from anyone since I met you and I’m so fucking hungry.”
“Taehyung please, please let me go I swear I won’t say anything!” You cried, ugly tears rushing down your face and cutting through the blood that stained your cheeks.
“You’re not going anywhere, you’re mine now and I intend to keep it that way,” He said, shoving you down onto the chaise and pinning you there before he lunged forward and buried his face in the juncture of your neck and shoulder.
And the next thing you knew, there was a blinding hot stabbing sensation in your neck. You screamed in pain as you realized that there were teeth cutting through your flesh, and not just teeth, but fangs. Your hands gripped his shoulders and pushed, trying your hardest to dislodge him from your throat.
But, the harder you struggled, the more you fed him. The two of you were covered in blood and now your own blood was rushing down your neck, throat, and chest as well as flooding Taehyung’s mouth.
And he was in pure ecstasy, his chest rumbling in what almost sounded like an animalistic purr as soft moans of pleasure bubbled up past his blood soaked mouth. And the more he drank the less you began to struggle, your body going weak with euphoria and trembling with bliss and desire. In this state, all you could focus on was the feeling of his chest pressed against yours, his soft lips pressing against your throat and his arms wrapped around you, pulling you in tight.
Through your foggy brain you could feel his hand sliding over your exposed thigh before gripping the curve of your hip and tugging you unbearably closer to him allowing himself to rest in between your legs.
You were utterly distraught and confused, how could you be enjoying something that had been so painful and distressing moments ago?
When he finally pulled away from your throat you could only see him through hazy vision, you felt high.
His hair was still dripping with blood, his lips and chin stained with the red that came from you, and the serrated tips of his fangs poked at his lower lip. He licked his lips greedily before swiping his tongue over your own mouth, chasing after every drop that he could get without accidentally killing you. You were stunning, his goddess decorated in carnage.
“My beautiful Galatea,” He sighed, “You really are my greatest masterpiece.”

–> To Briar Hills, a sleepy town in the thick of the woods that rarely sees the sun. The population has always been small, but as of late that number seems to be dwindling as new predators have made the forest their home and are on the hunt. Do you dare to enter the woods?
There was someone crouched down in between the trees and ferns. It wasn’t a stance that had suggested they had fallen or were looking for something, it resembled that of a predator patiently waiting for it’s innocent prey to come stumbling by. You could make out a few of its features, although it was mostly concealed by the greenery. Pale flesh stretched over it’s limbs, so light that it appeared like it hadn’t ever seen a ray of sunlight. There was a mop of unruly, dark curls poking out from the leaves, and worst of all, piercing red eyes that were staring back into your own. They resembled thick pools of blood, a deep crimson color that forced trembles throughout your once still form. You were certain you were staring into the eyes of a demon, there was no way that was a human hiding in there.

Yoongi x Reader
Yoongi wouldn’t be surprised if he forgot what had happened in that alleyway, the monster usually remembered it all for him and locked it away in the darkest corners of his mind. But he did know there would be one thing he would remember after this, and that was that he was willing to kill for you. It didn’t matter who it was, if they tried to harm you or get in his way he would tear them down without a thought or a shadow of remorse.

He could tell just from the sight of you that you were inexperienced and uncomfortable. The way you pressed yourself against the bar and clung to your friend told him that more than enough. He liked the shy ones, not that he was exceptionally picky because really he wasn’t, especially when he had the knowledge that he could have anyone he wanted. But every now and then Jimin would get a bit of a competitive streak, with himself of course. And on the nights where he wasn’t as ravenous as he normally was, he had enough clarity to challenge himself.

“Then let me show you how persuasive I can be,” He breathed, resting his hands on the desk on either side of you.

“His fingers were ice cold. Like the touch of death it seeped through your skin and into your bones chilling you to your very core. You jerked your arm away as you finally looked at him. It was undeniable that he was unfairly attractive but there was something uncanny about him. His skin was too perfect like polished marble, his lips even and full and pink like they were freshly bitten, a symmetrical and slim nose, and those eyes. They were dark and bottomless and you could swear they had rings of red within them. It was like staring into black holes that were slowly dragging you in with the force of a collapsed star.”

“Your eyebrows furrowed as you peered over your shoulder. He had this look on his pretty features as if he had just tasted something bitter, and that look was directed behind you.”
