Hi tumblr, got a question.
I’ve been bouncing the idea around in my head all day about making a vampire dating sim/visual novel, where the player is a vampire hunter, each route is a “contract,” and the player gets the option to kill or spare each one of the love interests (and, of course, if you don’t score enough points during the game to properly seduce your vampire, they’ll kill you at the end as well).
Well, as I was drafting the many vampires that would be included, i wanted to make a pumpkin vampire inspired by this BEAUTIFUL post here. With what research I did in the past two hours I found out that it’s a Serbian/Romani myth. I’m excited to broaden my horizons, but I don’t know much about Serbia or Romani or... anything around that region, honestly. And especially tackling Romani culture, I want to do it as much justice as possible. If I don’t think I can pull it off I may just drop the character, but if anyone has any advice (specifically Romani/Serbian people who might’ve grown up with the legends) on making sure this character is portrayed correctly and respectfully, or websites I could go to for accurate information, please let me know!! Even if this idea goes nowhere, I’d love to be informed.
