me: I cannot possibly mention other dramas before letting everyone know that a Japanese drama called Vampire Gigolo exists (I have seen it rendered as somewhat less eye popping but still !!! Vampire Host.)

It’s a bad drama though but still...

In news of dramas that are genuinely a fave despite an insane premise, Ouran High School Host Club, a jdrama based on a manga about Haruhi, a girl who cross-dresses as a boy, attends a very fancy private school as a charity student, and ends drafted as a host in a host club that is run by a very rich and very sweet and awfully unobservant guy called Tamaki. The club has things like two twins act out fakecest for their customers (I mean no make outs or anything but bat eyes at each other) blah blah. Despite the truly insane premise, the drama like the anime and the manga, are utterly warm and wholesome and happy and darling. I love it so much.

Also, Otomen! I love Otomen. It’s not weird per se but whatever, I am on a streak.

Asuka (Okada Masaki) was a boy who always liked girly things - baking, sewing, cute stuffed animals, the works. However, once his father left the family in order to become a woman, in order to make his mother happy Asuka has managed to supress all these unmanly tastes - he's become quite macho - he is a national kendo champion and will easily take you apart in a fight. He has a fanclub of swooning girls, school bullies flee at the sight of him, and underclassmen want to emulate him. One problem - he is still has “girly tastes” at heart. And then he meets Ryo (Kaho), a girl who is an utter tomboy, and it is love at first sight for Asuka. So, do opposites attract? And even if so, how would Ryo deal with finding out that the cool guy everyone is in awe of is actually a guy who loves girly things - an otomen.

Ego Abilities: The Host

Outside AU, Canon-Compliant, Canon-Esque:

-Sight: Can See the future. At any given time, he’s able to Watch seconds before things will actually happen; this allows him to get around anywhere with ease, though he can only do this for as long as he’s narrating it. Gets stronger Visions at random; sometimes he can decipher them and try to intervene with that future, other times it’s more cryptic and he won’t understand until the even comes along.

-Control: Can narrate things into happening; that includes narrating the actions of others to make them do something. He has narrated things into existence, or caused someone to teleport, but stretching his narration to such lengths is taxing on his strength and will quickly make him pallid and exhausted unless another magic-using/reality-warping Ego works with him.

-Ink: The Host’s aura is made of thick, black ink and can surround him like a protective barrier. He can also make tendrils of this ink reach out—and if feeling particularly threatened (especially if unable to use another ability for some reason), make someone choke on the ink as if drowning them in it.

Mirror AU:

-Sight: Same as above

-Control: Same as above

-Ink: Same as above

Monster AU:

-Fangs/Claws: When hunting/feeding/hungry/feeling threatened, his fangs protrude from his gums and nails grow into sharp claws. 

-Heightened Senses: Has a heightened sense of smell and hearing. Since he’s missing his eyes, he relies on those to hunt. 

-Inhuman Strength: Despite his smaller size, he can lift/move/tackle/etc. things far larger than himself. 

Superhero AU:

-Sight: Same as above

-Energy: Can sense the energies around him. Able to feel when an energy is more powerful (superhuman), weakened (injured, ill), and whether it’s positive or negative.

in movies or tv shows with vampires in it i'd always wonder what would the dude do if the chick had her period or if there's a school full of things that smell blood how would a girl get by? and then a wonderful gem comes along that actually shows what happens.
