The Shack, Macao, 1980 by Leroy W. Demery, Jr. Via Flickr: This shack - certainly not approved by the "local authority" - was located near the tip of the peninsula and the entrance to the Porto Interior (Inner Harbor). The camera was facing southwestward. Thirty years ago, when I presented slides from Hong Kong and Macao, many people found this image to be highly amusing. The most entertaining feature was the television antenna. I would guess, however, that life here was neither "easy" nor "pleasant." 1980 July 15.
