I do love to be beside the seaside 🎶 The first bus that came was for Varkiza, so that's where I went. I'd forgotten how beautiful this beach was. When I visited Greece with my family as a child, we often used to come here & one of my fondest memories is seeing seahorses swimming in the sea. There aren't many seahorses any longer & I haven't seen any live ones for years. It was warm enough today to go swimming, but I didn't. Instead I whiled away a few hours strolling up & down the beach looking at shells - of which there were many. Ended up at Varkiza Resort cafe sipping an ouzo & having a salad. There's something very special about being near the sea and watching the waves lapping against the shore. Can't fault the sea breeze either.
