So a headcanon I've had for a while is that the the earlier form of Falador was founded around the same time as Avarrocka by people who disagreed about the form of ruling a human settlement should have so they left the early Avarrockians and either went west if they were Kharidian God Wars survivors or sent the Avarrocka builders away east if the group was Kandarinian in origin. Idk if any sources tell us exactly who built these cities but I like to think it was the same group &they split apart.
This is a wonderful idea. I’ll be real with you i don’t know much about Asgarnian history (completely my fault honestly), and I have no clue whether or not Archeology would give us anything from the 4th age which is when the “biggest” (most well known because they’re f2p territories that pass as whole kingdoms?) human settlements became a thing I guess? but the idea that both Varrock and Falador were built by the same group initially is an interesting way to look at it if anyone is ever going to try their hand at a 4th age fic.I actually heard an opposing idea too. That Misthalin was built by ex-Kharidians and that Falador was built by ex-Kandarinians, which is why these kingdoms aren’t unified to begin with. To be fair these questions could be solved if we ever got an Arrav origin-story quest (Jagex kinda shut the door on that one didn’t they?) so the closest we could hope for is a Camorra quest (and risk a further splitting of the canon from OSRS) or a sequel to the enchanted key storyline, set in early day Avarrocka where we can actually talk to local npcs to get answers for these questions.Anyway excellent headcanon thank you for sharing!!!
