Goodbye, my love, we will meet again soon.

I recently realised that Vasily and Mitya can't even kiss goodbye at the train station whenever Mitya goes on a business trip, so I guess this is the next best thing.

Inspired by this post i saw on pinterest and loved so much I just had to draw it.

And because I'm me, the flowers tell their own tale. Sweet peas (the pink ones) stand for departure, goodbyes, and tender memory. Cornflowers (the blue one) stand for devotion, unity, love, anticipation, and future (among other things). In the image, the sweet peas, being climbing plants, wrap a tendril around the cornflower, linking goodbye and hello. Oh and I also chose Cornflowers because their Russian name is very close to Vasily's, but I think we knew that already.

(Yes I know that basically no one agrees on the meaning of particular flowers. Every source you check says something different, so I just went with what suited me for this piece.)
