Traitor! Lying on the floor breathless Lucy flicked the ice mage’s forehead attempting her best to pull an absolutely indignant face. He had promised not to take adavantage of his discovery, promised not to tickle her there! At least not right now… But he had! Mercilessly!

However, the blonde had serious troubles not to chuckle at the way too contented grin on the ice mage’s face so it was only a matter of time till Lucy gave another soft laugh while Gray was straddling her not willing to let her go yet.

The sight of her smile, and feeling how an own smile sneaked onto his face, was something the male treasured more than he could describe. With her, he could let loose. They went through pain and tears together, through loss, through heartache… though through joy and newfound comfort just as well.

It was moments like this one that were the most magical, and such that made them realize just how much they wanted to be as close as they were nowadays.

It was this very expression, this spark in her beautiful eyes that reassured him that both of them would come back safe and sound after their solo missions. The faint tinge of longing which Lyon was so familiar with was all he needed to know that they would be successful and have a reunion that confirmed every time just how much love they had in store for each other.

But not only that was what gave him this confidence; he knew better than everyone else how strong Sherry was. A truly mesmerizing woman in ever sense of the word and once the longing in her eyes faded and was replaced by confidence instead he couldn’t help but give a faint smirk before he tugged her closer for a briefly lingering kiss.

“Stay safe.”

“Of course. You, too,” she whispered looking squarely into her boyfriend’s eyes secretly wanting to stay in this small embrace for a little longer and feel how his fingers treaded through her thick pink hair gently before they both withdrew.

“See you soon.”
