Vaughters says some stuff about the actual business of running cycling. I mostly agree. That said, it’s difficult to have a franchise system in a sport without any actual franchises.

The MPCC has done a great job of covering the issues I mentioned in my rantcast last year. I'd like to say they must have listened to it, but a lot of my suggested changes were pretty obvious. Of course, the first non-headline link is still a 404 (if you click on the image associated with it) but my experience with Joomla (the CMS that the site runs on) is that avoiding dead links is alarmingly difficult.

And yes, I have redirected crediblecycling.org and cyclismecredible.fr. Still no word from the MPCC on accepting them as a donation.

Jonathan Vaughters: I would say the level between other teams and Sky is very similar. But you’re talking about one rider on Sky.

Listen, I still think Sky is the strongest team in the Tour, absolutely. But I think the difference that people will see in our team and Sky, and even a team like Movistar, or Saxo Bank, and Sky, I think those differences will be considerably smaller than they have been at the other races.
