As much as I love the look and aesthetic of the vault suits, I really don't think my Sole Survivor would wear them.
I just don't see a reason why he would. For the other Fallout protagonists like the Vault dweller, the Lone Wanderer, and even the Chosen One, the vaults and the suits are a huge part, if not all their lives.
And while, yes, the Sole Survivor spent over 200 years in the vault, it felt more like 5 minutes. And it wasn't a pleasant 5 minutes.
He is forced to watch his lover die horribly in front of him, and his own son is taken away from his now dead spouse's arms, while all he can do is watch and bang on the glass. When he is finally awoken and can explore the rest of the vault, it's completely dead and filled with roaches.
So I just don't see a reason why he would keep it. I feel like he would try to distance himself from the vault as much as possible. Especially with the stereotype of vault dwellers being weak and being an easy target for scammers and raiders alike.
The only reason I can see him wearing the Vault suit is cause is made to be super comfortable. But I don't think the emotional distress and the bright blue and yellow target it would put on his back would be worth it.
And it makes his ass look fat.
