I believe I have hit this learning objective with the contextual research of perfectionism, advertising, contemporary media, and most importantly, Plato’s theory of forms. By using this theory to kickstart my whole idea generation, I have been able to conduct a clear objective for my target audience - which is that perfection is unattainable and unrealistic. I have also been inspired by wabi-sabi, the theory of celebrating imperfections. This has informed how I have created my website, bringing the messaging into my outcome.
This learning objective has been at the forefront of my mind through this project, as I have experimented with several concepts, directions and methods of working. By exploring both digital, physical, and contemporary practices, I have been able to choose a medium that is best fit for my audience. This has been through a digital platform, as my Target audience are digital natives.
By choosing to include 3D illustration as a big part of my brand identity, I have been able to link contemporary practices to my concept. I also have considered how the audiences best respond to different platforms, such as snapchat and filters. I have also worked to allow myself time to consider my designs and develop them to the best of my abilities in this time frame.
