Vee and Johnny went to the same pre-school, kingergarten, and grade school (Johnny's parents felt bad and chose not to separate Johnny from his "little yellow friend" despite the preschool having been more of an emergency school choice) However, once they got older, Johnny's parents sent Johnny up to Dreadwood (DRD) Preparatory High School to get him a good shot at colleges. No exceptions, much to Johnny and Vee's disgruntlement at no longer being able to see each other every day, now that they go to schools so far away. Vee stayed near her hometown, I'm calling it Marsh Meadows, and attended the Underwater Academy of Slimy Pond. (I wish MU gave us more than that 2 second shot of an underwater section of the University.)

By the time of MU. I imagine Vee was transferring in from community college, trying to knock out as many classes to be able to afford the neccesary ones for a scaring degree at the prestigious, but expensive, Monsters University. Meanwhile, Johnny had been cruising through MU and building his reputation with good grades, extracurriculars, and ROR.

I loved drawing lil' Johnny and High School Johnny. He's still not full Frat President Brat™. Also bonus Kindergarten graduation:

In the spirit of Spiderverse highlighting the 2099 timeline, I’ve decided to pay attention to my own 2099 OCs!

Vee is the great-granddaughter of Doom and Grace, and lives in Nueva York with her mom and grandma (whom I have yet to post about but is coming, I promise). While her mom and grandma didn’t get Cube powers, Vee did, and that leads to some delightful shenanigans in which she runs from both the government and kids at school.

As for Miguel…well, it’s not that Vee’s upset that her mom’s dating him. She’s just upset that her mom’s dating in general.

Some baby Johnny and baby Vee stuff. Johnny was a VERY beloved baby as the only child of the Worthingtons. That baby was the prized jewel of the household, given the Worthingtons had only recently raised their prestige with Jack Worthington establishing Fear Co. in his lifetime. This baby would be the first heir. Johnny slept on an embroidered blanket with a Worthington initial stitched in, courtesy of Johnny's grandmother. He loved it since it kept a hairless newborn Johnny warm as he *screeched* through his first few months of life. Poor baby. Vee, i headcanon, has a physical disability (like me :D). She was born with oddly short fins as a baby and is a poor swimmer as a result. Even as an adult, her head fins would do most of the work, fanning outlike butterfly wings under the water, though they create drag as well on their own. Her hands and limbs don't have webbing or anything else to help her swim. She doesn't even have claws or a tail long enough to cling to anything, either. She swims slower than most monsters in Marsh Meadows. So as a baby, Vee had to be held by one of her parents or she'd drift off (literally) into the neighbor's window or someone's lawn in the underwater community. At least, one thing she inherited was her hooves to walk on land longer than her peers and water breathing to stay in water as long as she wants, but swims slowly. Another thing about baby Johnny, I like to think the Worthington's had a guard beast-hound. A hound that Johnny had a love-hate relationship with because it would steal his teething biscuits. Johnny was already a very fussy baby, but that hound had him aggroed all the time. Bonus: Baby Javier Rios I looked up baby cockroaches. They're just smaller versions of themselves.

GENDERBENT VEE INCOMING!!! The main difference between Vic and Vee is Vic is more top-heavy with smaller headfins, and Vee is bottom-heavy with large headfins. Vee is a bit shyer and hides her smile behind her chelicerae, Vic smiles broadly with his big leech teeth. Vee is much shoulder height with Johnny, Vic is lower jaw height. Johnny is inwardly panicking with both of them in either timeline, but with Vic there's an added, "Oh shit, I always talked up how I'd be marrying a woman and all to bring home and have a few Worthington cubs with. Haha. Not this! Not with some gumdrop barely able to scare and a male. F u c k." Little does he know a funny thing about leeches... ANYWAYS, man. Lookit those two lil dummies. Vic and Vee Marisol!

Whenever it rained outside the preschool, Johnny would often sulk. His fur would catch all the rain, but he wouldn't go inside because he didn't want to miss his mom (and maybe his dad) coming to pick him up. Which, because Johnny didn't understand the concept of time, he just stood there pointlessly.

Vee, being an amphibious little monster, quite likes water. Now, as a toddler, she can't cover up much, but she kept the top of Johnny's head dry. Besides, she gets a free ride anywhere--mostly because Johnny actually appreciates how no water is getting in his eyes anymore.

In adulthood, Vee actually covers rainwater better. Her fins act as a sort of umbrella, and she can, very gently, slide into the space between his horns and perch on him. Johnny normally wouldn't allow himself to basically play piggyback with any other person, or look like some kid, instead of a role-model and a future CEO in the making…

But it's basically reflex. He and Vee used to do this all the time when it rained. Still, he only lets her hop on when he's comfortable there aren't too many eyes on them. One thing is, however, Vee is afraid of thunder and lightning. Those were signs of storms, and storms meant you got swept away in Marsh Meadows if you didn't hunker down--which frightened Vee since she lacks the proper ability to cling to anything, no claws, no tail, and soft, squishy hands.

I headcanon Johnny's family coming from a mountainous, cave ridden regions (I'll dub it Thunder Mountain, like in tf2 payload), given Jack Worthington and Johnny have massive horns befitting of mountain goats, and Jack spelunking canonically in MAW when building Fear co. Mountain storms and Worthingtons have long been acquainted--Johnny was probably born in a storm. That said, he is nonplussed by thunder and lightning, especially since those two are fear factors he's had to learn to emulate and use in scaring.

But seeing Vee canopy herself flat from fear, he's quick to reassure her. After all, he knows why it scares her.

Bonus:

I like to think Johnny enjoyed drawing when he was little, just like JJ. After all, he did draw Tylor a sick car on a napkin. He didn't practice it much, though, in adulthood.
