Okay so here are some thoughts.  I really like the idea of Finn/Poe but I also (in the deep dark places that are kept hidden for the most part) like the idea of Poe/Kylo Ren A LOT more.  Hear me out.

Kylo Ren needs a redemption arc.  He does not need that from someone else - it should absolutely start from within.  He needs to want to change himself.  He’s a scared little boy flailing around, and only he can save himself from that.

That said, I think there’s a lot to be said about romantic interests in stories.  Hell, half the stories in the world have some form of romance to them.  But I think what I’m really getting at here is relationships in general - family, friends, lovers, all kinds of relationships.  And whereas Finn and Rey are still finding themselves, Poe seems like he’s got 98% of his life under control.  He’s a hotshot pilot fighting evil, he’s got the sassiest mouth in the galaxy, and he’s confident.  That confidence is doubtless going to be awesome from Finn and Rey to share in, but I think Kylo Ren could really benefit too.

He’s not dark completely and totally, we’ve seen that.  He almost lets the lightsaber go, but then with the darkening of the sun, so too does the light leave him.  But it’s still there, it has to be, because it was in Vader.  And he needs someone to help him see it.  He’s cut his family out of his life - one of them quite literally - but that doesn’t mean he’s totally lost.  No one’s ever totally lost.

How this would work, I have no idea.  Expect some fanfic from me about redemption in the coming weeks.  But if Poe ends up with someone, I’d like to give Kylo Ren a fighting chance.

im not complicated. i like pansies, and warmth. i like laughing, and having clear dates in the future i can look forward to. i like breakfast food, and cheap wine. i like being able to laugh at myself, and feeling loveable. i like smoking at night, and music that makes me want to run away. i like people who make me want to live, and days that end with a smile. i like feeling safe, and i like trusting people. but the things we like aren't always around everyday, you just have to wait for the next time something makes you smile and hope it's not too far. and hope it's not too out of reach.
