ok im gonna do mason! i ended up writing a nove of her backstoryl, tw for child abuse, lifelong emotional abuse and manipulation, yikes....
well first of all mason’s entire existence is a moral weak spot LOL she is very slytherin and would do ANYTHING for self preservation (much like myself.......eyes emoji)
for emotional weak points, basically her entire life.... she’ll take any affection that comes to her as positive and healthy because she's hardly ever known what that looks like. with an abusive mother and a father who died before his time, she never experienced parental affection, it was up to her to take care of her younger sister. Being placed in the role of a parent when she was still a child herself took its toll on her. By the time the world froze and they got on the train (mason secretly questioning whether it might have been better to just die, when she saw the conditions they were in; that she had unwittingly subjected her sister to) they only had one another as death surrounded them.
When Wilford had her brought to the front, she was the perfect person for him to bend to his will. He showed her affection and gave her nice things that she never had. She wished it had been her sister that got all this, but she was certain that she would be able to go back for her soon; so soon, just as long as she kept doing as Wilford said. He had promised her, after all, and he was taking such good care of her.
It never happened, of course. The promise he never intended to keep in the was rendered null and void when the younger Mason died in the tail section like so many others. With her reason for everything gone, Mason had no reason to follow Wilford anymore, but he had made her so dependent upon him that she no longer knew the difference. She taught herself to hate tail sectioners, to hate where she came from, and to erase that part of her fully, because she could never go back to the way she was. It was the part chosen for her by Divine Wilford, and she was bound to honor it.
