This afternoon, I was starving 😋 & needed food. We stopped at our local #vegancafe @subiasvegancafe to give it a try. OMG! I had the Subia 🍔 which was amazing with an #abc Juice with Maca and Victor had the Rueben. More than the food being delicious, upon speaking to the owners and finding out that they are two #latinas & sisters, I was really thrilled! You see, when we 1st started #squeezed 3 years ago, I had heard about another local small beverage business whose owner is Latina & from my neighborhood! I was excited to meet her & just support and do what I do. Unfortunately, she wasn't pleased with us at all & was quite disgusting to be honest. So much so, they tried to block Squeeze'D from doing some business in and around JC. So suffice it to say, I was a little nervous about telling the Subia owners who we were. To my absolute pleasant surprise when Victor mentioned that we too had a small Juice bar (they have a juice bar in the store as well) & truck, they knew who we were (Squeeze'D) and were so excited for us! They gave us advice about going vegan, business, our menu and literally were so open, loving and sweet! Thank you ladies for showing me, after 3 years in business in JC that as women & Latina small business owners - we can be happy for each other and support each other in so many different ways. No hate! No "cashblocking", just love, excitement and truly beautiful women. Thank you for the warmth, the conversation, advice and of course the really slamming food! We appreciated you more than you know!!!! We look forward to visiting you again and hope to see you at our little corner in JC!
