Vegimon are a plant Digimon species that usually inhabit the warmer and more humid parts of the Digital World, but can be seen in many other places as well. They do not like the cold, however, and stay away from the regions where temperatures can drop closer to or below freezing.

They somewhat resemble massive pitcher plants, with big mouths and round "bodies". The lack of legs makes them slow and not agile, and they move around with the help of their vine appendages. These Digimon can grow to be pretty massive in some cases - as tall as a human adult, and are similar in many ways to the RedVegimon, an evolution of theirs. They also can vary in color, anywhere from green to more reddish or orange. Vegimon are ambush hunters, and will often hide in lush vegetation and flowers, or up in the trees, and wait for someone or something to pass by - they will then grab or beat their prey, immobilize it with their breath weapon, and consume it whole, leaving it to slowly dissolve in the acid in their "stomach". They also sometimes use the colorful leaves on their heads to lure prey closer.

Not all of them are hostile, and it's not uncommon to see them in settlements and towns, but less so in bigger cities. The more wild ones can be dangerous though, as they will go not just after other small digital life forms, but also smaller and weaker Digimon that they can consume. They will, however, quickly retreat if faced with a stronger opponent and ganging up on said opponent doesn't work.

I was serious when I mentioned indentured servitude in my last rewatch post. Anytime I hear paying off a debt that just keeps growing and growing and theoretically you should be protected under the law (no idea what the legalities in the Digital World are. Digitamamon seems to be one of the few capitalistic businesses around), but you're treated like shit, it's the first thing I think of. It is a bit of a stretch, normal indentured servitude is for years. I don't doubt that they would have kept Jou and Yamato there until they were adults.

Oh, that's another thing, child labor.

(I'm also several years post-graduation on classes with this stuff so take my word with caution.)

They are both trying so hard to be considerate. The value of talking to your friends and being honest aahhh...

One screencap does not do well to show how much the poor lad is shaking. I really admire Jou for how he handles his anxiety despite how much shit it gives him. Guy is prepared to go through med school... THEY WILL EAT YOU ALIVE PRECIOUS BEAN! (this is nothing against thinking he can't do it. It's that med school and field can be hell, as conveyed to me by others in my life) He makes a fantastic doctor.

Sora, please, please talk to your friends. They'll love to hear you are all right. Or were even here at all.

You would really have to hate a coworker to mess up so badly to increase the amount of abuse you receive. That is counterproductive. There are better ways to get out of something or convey the message of screw you to the boss without impacting people you work with who you actually like.

Yamato is a way too close to panicking and worry to recognize this though. Oh, and a child, who shouldn't be working at all at this age or knows how this stuff works.

I focused a lot on shit work conditions for this, but I do really like this episode for both Yamato and Jou. They're good kids. Should lay off employment for a bit though xD. Saving the world is enough stress.

HungryVegimon Level: Ultimate/Perfect Type: Carnivorous Plant Attribute: Virus Field: Jungle Troopers A plant type digimon with a loutish persona, regularly lazing around until food is near. It quickly springs into action once it senses a meal and will fight off anybody it thinks is going to muscle in on it's dinner. With it's technique Bad Manners, it belches a sickly sweet poison that induces nausea and headaches. The potency and range of this technique is influenced by the time between using it and having had it's last meal, being more powerful if it's starving but having less to spare. It closes the distance with Table Manners, a technique that brandishes it's prized knife and fork. Surprisingly keen and capable of cutting through the carapace of even beetle digimon. Champions: Vegimon, Burgamon, Nanimon Megas: Hydramon, Beelzebumon, Bacchusmon
