some veilgarden vibes for tonight
I notice that my sweet Cloistered Diatomist is getting increasingly cloistered and dependent on me for social interactions (which is not healthy) so what do I do? I decide that I must help the darling man expand his social circle and search out people who share similar interests to him.
After some looking, I find three people to introduce him too. To my delight, the introduction goes great and they are all fast friends. I am glad he is no longer sequestered away with only myself for company, as he’s rather the lonely sort and I do not wish for him to become depressed.
But in a turn of events that I did not expect, he cancels our plans and doesn’t follow up on the idea of our next date! No longer am I invited to his home to observe the rich colors and the shapes in spirals that are algae under his microscope.
I feel jilted at the way he just.. brushed me off like I was not there for him whenever he asked. I know his nature- his soft heart, and shy demeanor. When our relationship grew too unhealthily codependent I found him companions he could share his love for his work with, in a way that I could not as I’m not exactly an academic.
I yearn to rekindle our friendship, but the feeling of my emotions and help being invalidated the way they have makes me doubt whether he feels the same way I do. We were never together romantically, but we danced around each other in a way that was telling of our affections.
I wonder if his friends look out for him the way I did.. Raising him up, affirming his passion in his work, broadening his horizons, showing him things and activities outside of his lodgings and usual activities.
Fallen London Travel Guide:
Rosehip Lane
Stroll down to a little café on Rosehip Lane. Said café is an infamous honey den. But the coffee is splendid; as are the little cakes.
okay. where do we think the best place to live in the neath is?
Fallen London Travel Guide:
Veilgarden
A haunt of poets, prostitutes, and other low types, and location of the notorious Singing Mandrake. Elderwick is famous for its booksellers. Hollow Street offers the best honey-dens in the city.
Fallen London Travel Guide:
The Museum of Prelapsarian History
The Museum of Prelapsarian History is London’s preeminent historical institution. The past is best known as that segment of time that is entirely more popular, yet no less treacherous, than the shrinking future or the ever-stretching present.
Fallen London Travel Guide:
The Singing Mandrake
This pub is the sticky-floored local for bohemians and socialites, musicians and writers. Even poets take up occupation, fuelling their stanzas with copious quantities of the local intoxicants.

Veilgarden ambience I made in like ten minutes. if that interests anyone.
