For the WIP tag game: Darklord Bruce or WereTim in SPACE! ? 👀

Thanks for asking, lovely 😊 (I'm doing a WIP tag game! Ask me about my WIPs so I'm forced to think about them I have an excuse to babble about them!)

Darklord Bruce is straight up a campfire from Capes & Coffee I need to clean up and post to AO3 one of these days. Basically, I really like the idea of darklords Domains of Dread in D&D lore, I just don't think I'd be able to run a game where it's a no-win situation. So instead I do things like what-if an entire scenario off the premise that a Bruce who's crossed the line and started killing would make a really interesting darklord.

It's not even close to one-for-one with canon (I imagined it as steampunky-Victorian for that fun, old-timey feel), but all of Gotham gets sucked into the Shadowfell after Bruce commits murder (kinda vague on if it's murder in general or murder of an innocent). The triggering even that pushes him over the line is, of course, Jason's death. So, to make things even more interesting, of course he's trapped in an endless cycle with a constantly reincarnating (but initially amnesiac) Jason. In order to be redeemed and escape the Shadowfell, Bruce needs to accept that he went too far, his actions were wrong, and win his son's forgiveness. Should be easy, right? Except, these are the dark powers we're dealing with here, and not even death allows a darklord to escape the prison they rule over.

There's stuff about Dick being a vistana who is both part of the cycle and separate from it, and Tim being a random person who just happens to live in the Shadowfell but isn't a part of any darklord's torture cycle. Or at least he wasn't, until he met this really interesting guy who seems to slowly be remembering someone else's memories... Also, a bunch of special items because you know how I love to make magic items. :3

WereTim in SPACE is the final (?) part of my caracal Tim AU (Fuzzy Business). I started writing it for JayTim Week 2025 and didn't get very far because I hadn't come up with much of a plot. Maybe I'll finish it for JTW 2026! Basically, JayTim have to go to SPACE because Tim is afflicted with perpetual babyface. Some other people go with them—

They're just about ready to leave when Jason shows up towing along just about the last person Tim expected to see.

"Whoa, is that Tim Drake-Wayne?" Jaime Reyes asks, boggling at him. "I thought you said this was a capes thing?"

Tim stares. "What."

"I remembered what you said about how this whole thing being because you shared an ancestor with Traci 13, so I looked her up to see if she could help. She's got summer classes, but her boyfriend here is free, so she's sending him with a magic amulet to summon her when the time comes," Jason easily explains, pulling the hatch closed behind him. "You guys know each other, don't you?"

"Jason, I can't—" But before he can explain, Jaime is bounding over to grab his hand and shake it.

"This is great! I'm a big fan of what you've been doing at WayneTech, Mister—" He stops, blinking. "Oh."

Jason glances between them, obviously confused. "I'm missing something here."

Tim rubs his forehead, trying to stave off a headache. "If you actually kept up to date on ally intel, you'd know the scarab means that Blue Beetle can identify people by DNA alone. Some of us still have secret identities, Jay."

"Sorry," Jaime says, ducking his head. "Hood just said his werecat boyfriend needed a solid and it's not like I'm a stranger to space."

"Yeah, well—"

"Wait, does that mean Red Robin is a werecat?!" Jaime gapes at him, obviously astounded by this news for some insane reason. Tim sighs. Isn't there anyone around here who bothers to read the heroic profiles kept in the Justice League's database?

Summary:

When Tim started testing a machine that could rescue Bruce from the timestream, he was expecting to hit some roadblocks. What he wasn't expecting was for a malfunction to launch him through the timestream, putting him face to face with Dick... about six months after he became Nightwing. Now, all he has to do is wait for the malfunction to reverse itself and to send him back to when he's actually from. And to not mess up the timeline via some sort of butterfly effect. And to somehow manage that while the guy who he's been a little bit obsessed with for his entire life won't stop flirting with him for more than three seconds. Easy, right?

Good Red Robin angst without going overboard, an interesting exploration of Dick and Tim's relationship and history in the comics, and still manages to be a more fun than heavy read. Also, time travel.

I like Dragon au's, Wingfic Mer au, etc.? But I never actually have an idea that I'd like to write/finish for it.

(I've been brainstorming about a fic where person with wings idk who yet, comes untouched just by getting petted on them-)

I LOVE Time travel and Time loops and other time shenanigans but it's a lot of work

Oof, hard to say I don't really plan out what I want to write/what catches my fancy.

I usually have several projects ongoing at any given time, and I give focus to the ones that i'm most interested in in the moment

there are so many ways for them to be idiots, especially because my favorite idiots (Dick and Tim ofc) are supposed to be so smart. and then it's so satisfying when they finally figure it out

Tim pads into the room kiss Dick hello. They’re new still, a little fragile, but this is the… easiest isn’t the word, Tim decides. He and Dick are still putting the work in. But it feels right. No knocking any of the relationships he’d had before, they’d all been right for him at the time. But Dick… he’s everything Tim thought he wanted and everything he didn’t realize he needed.

"I feel ridiculous," Tim mutters, fiddling with his deerstalker hat.

"I don't know why. That's a bitchin' costume."

"Yeah, but why bother? No one on Oa even knows what Halloween is."

"I've spent the past month explaining the cultural significance of Halloween and its associated traditions to numerous Lanterns, and a bunch double-checked with this morning that they had the date right," Jason says as he shoves Tim out the door of their shared apartment.

"You didn't."

"I said I'd make sure you'd get a normalish childhood. Trick-or-treating until the last possible age cut-off is part of the teenage experience."
