it wasn’t completely uncommon for batman to be patrolling in east end even after red hood became its newest protector.  yet dick couldn’t help but feel like he was intruding where he wasn’t invited.  he had to convince and re-convince himself three times already that this wasn’t a bad idea before asking oracle if red hood was still in the neighborhood.  someone had to take the first step, he reminded himself, and it sure as hell wasn’t going to be jason.

he could see the bright red of jason’s helmet glinting brightly in the dark of the night, almost like a beacon, inviting.  swallowing down his pride, he made his arrival on the roof audibly noticeable so not to startle the young man too much.

His head’s tilted to one side, looking the other over in a manner that seems almost confused. Eyes look up, down, left, right, before Lazlo finally lets his head fall to the other side as he clucks his tongue.

“ I’m aware I’m a bit of an old-timer, but I believe themes are still a thing. ”

He drawled, leaning back ( more like falling back ) against the wall behind him with a small thump. “ If you’re going to have hood in the name, at least wear one. ‘Love the color, though. ”
