            “    This place is  so cool.    Very 1950′s era.    Do you guys have any secret passages in here  ?      G-A has a  ton  but that school is old as dirt itself.   ”      --  And boring.     But she’s excited to be at Wayne manor,   having to resist the urge to touch  everything.    Every display or armor donning the coolest weapons.    Occasionally she’ll stop and stare in awe.       There’s even a moment where a hand is raised for a finger to touch a spear,   tempted to pick it up.

he's nudging harvey in his side. " how many more 'cool' jokes do you think it'll take until jason cracks? "

" two. " he cracks a grin at the sort of depreciating joke. " and a half. you'll get the starter out but he'll pop off before the punchline. " uncle harvey so enjoys these moments.

you’ll always be a brother to me, harvey. i’m here for you.

" go away bruce. " his voice doesn't sound like gravel. it's smooth and low, a bass singer in the church choir. his lesser half is shunned to the background of his thoughts, even as it shouts unearned poisoned vitriol at harvey's sanity. he hears his friend speak. he even understands the words. but even as his ruined eye sees nothing but the dark, the working pupil refuses to look at the light. he's so very tired.

and he doesn't want bruce to leave.

there's still so much pride in that beating organ guarded by the curved bones in his chest. he doesn't want to admit to the man that his hallucinations are back. but what he wants doesn't matter. he thinks of dick in the robin costume. he thinks of jason as the hood. of alfred. of bruce. ' i need help again. ' he whispers, as the single eyelid closes shut and holds. the truth hurts worse than the acid.

i'm sorry. i need help. again.

ᴛʜʀᴇᴇ sᴍᴀʟʟ ᴡᴏʀᴅs

        STOLEN FOR A PRICE; Jason had been hiding out in the pantry for a while. A walk-in closet lined with more food than he's ever seen before, all without lock and key. Jason didn't want to take more than he was allowed, not wanting to steal from his new family. But it just started as a little bite, no one would miss one box of cheese squares. A little snack he didn't want anyone to know he was sneaking. But then he didn't stop. And he ate as much as he could get his hands on. Salty, sweet, savory.

        So long worrying about when his next meal would be. Focused only on survival and not thinking about anything else. And here he was, presented with more food than he could even eat. That is till his belly started hurting with the seer volume he ate. Which led to Bruce finding him vomiting violently into a trashcan.

        ❝ yeah ❞  His voice was a waver and he didn’t lift his head up. He’s not sure when Bruce would find out how much he stole but maybe he could play it off long enough to get away with it all.

That he was still new to being a father?     ❝ You met me at a vulnerable part of mine. ❞        He always thought of himself. How he would have starved if Bruce hadn't picked him up by the scruff. Or maybe he would have gotten sick, or beaten to death, or grown up to be worse than he is now. Jason took a big huff of the cigarette in his hand. Blowing the smoke away from his father.

                              ❝ To be fair though, you've always been strange. ❞   The smile he shows is small but genuine, laughing eyes matching the small lopsided smirk he never grew out of.

ʙᴀɴɢ! ╾━╤デ╦︻  All the air was stolen from his lungs as they go crashing to the ground. Hood didn’t even see the danger, and would have taken the bullet if not for the Bat’s quick thinking. Mere seconds from a return to the grave. But he would only realize that later. All he knew was the Bat had tackled him, a gun went off, and he thinks his rib is broken from the sheer force Bruce collied with him. Jason lets out a wheeze. Weakly pawing at the Bat.        ❝ Get off. ❞
