I saw Venom today with my beautiful and goofy fiance @fire-fira and I definitely recommend seeing it if you generally like super hero movies and symbiotic/host relationships as a trope (fuck I do). 

Some mild spoilers under the cut

One thing about the movie that I particularly liked (other than Venom and Eddie’s relationship) was the relationship between Dan, Anne and Eddie. 

When Eddie comes into Anne’s new life with Dan, Dan as the new boyfriend could have been written as your common jealous hot-shot better-than-you, you are a loser type character but instead he was a great person. He was not jealous, threatened, or at all hostile towards Eddie. Instead he welcomed him with kindness and concern, concern for his health and his well-being genuinely so.

You do not see that in media much, usually if the ‘new boyfriend’ meets the ‘old boyfriend’ it either is written as a hostile interaction with the mutual love interest in the middle acting a a mediator, or the interaction is cold and calculating with both parties mutually plotting the other’s downfall in some way.  The movie did not do that.  Now I am not familiar with the comics so I am unaware if Dan as a character has more to show later potentially (good or bad) but for this particular movie and these particular relationships I was really impressed.

But Venom sought revenge for Flash’s death to Norman Osborn?

dbs animators deciding to make Trunks' hair blue to be canon-compliant or to match Bulma's anime hair or whatever other bullshit they concocted to justify their asinine decision is still one of the biggest anime sequel L's to this day.
