This is technically an oc story but could be read as an x reader

The tale of a fox's love
The love of a fox
Once apon a time lived a fox, she watched over the forest of teyvat. No matter what was in her way she could enter any forest she pleased, even the forest with in the story walls of mondstat.
There she met a kind young boy, he had the most beautiful voice and allowed the fox to listen while he sat in the forest alone.
She loved his songs and the boy would show her affection most didn't in the lands full of war and fighting. She would bring him stories of the land outside the walls and he would write songs about them.
Soon a little wind spirit would come along and join in our their time together, it worried the fox that his time was being shared but she grew fond of the spirit as well. Soon they where three inseprible friends.
But the fox began to have...deeper feelings for the boy, she knew it couldn't be sense she was just a forest fox and he was a human. It couldn't be...unless she became human too!
She knew of a god who made contracts, she could ask him to make her human! All she had to offer was a fox bead, a bead that takes her centuries to create. So it was very rare, hopefully it would be enough.
She told the boy her plan, he seemed happy but said he hoped that's what she wanted. He didn't know just yet, but he also returned her feelings. Despite being a fox he loved how unwavering kindness and generosity.
So she ventured out in search of the god, praying he could help her on her quest. She traveled far but found the god, he looked confused at the little fox but listened to her plee.
He agreed to make her look human, and warned she would start to die when her love did as long as she loved him. She agreed, not wishing to live with out him anyway. She said once she's lived out her life with him she would finish making the bead and venture back her to give it to him.
He said the spell would take a few things to create and sent her off to gather the nessisary ingredients. During this time, the two grew closer. The god would ask her why she would want to live the short life of a human.
She explained her deep feelings towards the boy and how she was more then happy to give up her long long life for all the time he could offer her. The god himself was seemingly touched by this, and started to develop a sort of liking toward the fox. Quietly wishing he could win her heart instead of this bard.
"You are very generous" he commented one day "no immortal I know would trade such a rate item or their own life for...a human"
she looked up at him, ears falling showing how saddened his comment made her. Looking down she sighed.
"I weep for them...for they don't know the love I know to make that sacrifice" he could feel the smile in her words as she said this.
"Yes...maybe one day..." he quietly said before turning around to finish making the potion for her. "It's ready"
