Haft två fantastiska dagar i Lund där jag för andra året i rad haft förmånen att få sitta i juryn för Sveriges största tävling inom entreprenörskap Venture Cup. Vi har fått lyssna på fantastiska pitchar och efter lång överläggning kom vi fram till följande vinnare. Lika roligt var detta tt få umgås med så otroligt smarta och kompetenta människor i juryn, läs mer om dem här.

Wrap of the Swinburne Venture Cup

In its 16th year, The Swinburne Venture Cup is a team event that brings an entrepreneurial experience to the classroom. Students are given the chance to win $20,000 to support a new venture or company. Teams submit a business plan outlining the business concept and the winning team is decided from the concept that conveys the most promising combination of significant capital gains potential, attractive investment possibilities and actual implementation.

iChoose Care Bachelor of Commerce and Bachelor of Entrepreneurship Removing ambiguity and confusion in the disability service industry by providing a central platform for participants and their families to research, compare and review disability providers.

intTrust Masters of Information Technology (Professional Computing), Bachelor of Computer Science (Honors) and Bachelor of ICT Portal for job, social and networking, which is dedicated to internationals students. The portal would link international students in Australia to registered employers, while also providing an online social network for students.

Parkiteer Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical) Honors The Parkiteer app provides the user with a list of car parks, ranked by either distance from intended destination, distance from current location, or price (at the selection of the user), from where the user can instantly book his or her desired car park space.

Solar Trailer Generator Bachelor of Business, Entrepreneurship and Innovation A trailer mounted 32 Amp 3 phase power system employing roof mounted hydraulic sun-tracking solar panels that optimise solar power collection.

Modular Shipping Container Master of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Modular homes for Australian customers that are constructed from shipping containers and built overseas.

The Hotel Curator Graduate Certificate of Entrepreneurship and Innovation The Hotel Curator is for design conscious affluent millennials who currently have no access to a service that connects them to the world’s most creative hotels with the ability to purchase a curated selection of high quality niche products currently offered within these luxury hotels.

Venture Cup in Sweden was just launched this week. I have to say that the Swedes love their competitions and platforms for showing off your business ideas. From the many that I have been to, the common theme is 'just say your idea'. They are really trying to embrace the idea that if your idea sucks, maybe your next idea will be better, a sort of American entrepreneurial mindset. It's good. And I hope to be entering into this also.
