Unpopular opinion: I see Jax more of transmasc than transfem. Mostly due to where he complains about wearing the dresses or feminine clothing and how he talks about his ears and tail represent peak masculinity, then starts to freak out when Pomni tells him he doesn’t actually have his tail.

SPOILERS FOR EPISODE 8 UNDER CUT

Even in the new episode you can see his (possible) discomfort to wearing the outfit Caine put him in during the song. Then in his “punishment” he gets his skin taken off, like he’s fear is being born or placed into a body that he doesn’t like wearing/having (aka afab) and is scared about people seeing him for what he thinks he really is underneath. A woman.

His fear of being ridiculed could be from the fear of being looked down on from his friends. But also that he’s scared of them laugh and judging him if they find out about his secret. That they will mike him for talking all about how masculinity he is, when he doesn’t actually feel like that. That’s it’s all just an act that he puts on to hide the insecurities of who he doesn’t want to be.

That’s just what I think though!

can I just say this, I hate when people literally wish a person not to shift, or say not everyone will shift. What is up your arse literally?? everyone will shift in my opinion, if it takes weeks, months or years. you will shift. And wishing someone not to shift, because of the most stupidest thing "oh they have the same s/o as me" STFUU!! That isn't even YOUR soulmate. You never know why people are shifting, so stop saying you hope they don't.
