Venutian Formula is marked as the first album by Glochids (James Roemer) to contain no field recordings. It is the first to feature unadorned kick drum samples, MIDI instrumentation, bowed styrofoam, modular synthesis, AM radio drift, reverb, distortion, and live performance recordings as collage elements.

Discrete samples of Roemer's voice form the basis of most tracks on the album; all other acoustic sources are absent. All sounds have thus far only existed internally before reaching the listener, modulated electricity and breath that has never been played into a room until reaching the end-user's speaker. Listen on earbuds and it will have never been externalized: direct parietal connection. Composed through 12 months of handling amphibians, departing the Sonoran desert, continuous chance sightings of Venus at dawn, and engaging in new forms of non-linear thought & seeing off the grid.

Moon in Libra - December 14th-17th 2014

So, I want to keep writing about these lunar transits... There could be other transits at play here, but I'm sticking to the moon. K-I-S-S for now (keep it simple stupid). So, I was tooootally obsessed with music the past couple days. The moon is presently in Scorpio. It entered Scorpio at about 8am my time. I spammed link after link to my Libra bestie. I don't know why. I also obsessed reading and downloading poems from a poet called S.L. on FB. She is also on Tumblr. http://slwords.tumblr.com She is a very Scorpionic writer. She blows my mind. Every word once had my blood dripping on it. I find her poetry so relatable as a Scorpio Moon and rising person. 

Today I'm finishing off my obsession with Music with  Melanie Martinez - please look her up the song Dollhouse is so haunting.  Madilyn Bailey - When I was your Man (Female Version) - totally could have made me cry if I've ever broken up with someone.  I was playing M.I.A.'s album Maya... I loved that whole album. 

Yesterday, I listened to some Mariah Carey... and marvelled at how she introduced me to a lot of fancy vocabulary growing up. I don't know if she's ever been acknowledged for her writing. I think people get distracted by her amazing vocals and crazy personality... they forget about the fact that she's written all her songs. I'm pretty sure when I was around 10 I had to pull out a dictionary  and look up "nonchalant" from the song Breakdown featuring Bone Thugs N Harmony. and I remember reading the definition and thinking, "Wait, there's a word for that?!" My mind was blown. I felt so inadequate in that moment! Lol. Like, "If I don't learn words like Nonchalant, Disarming, Incessantly, Euphoric, Relinquish.... I'll never be able to be a writer, or songwriter... there's too man words!" Little did I know what the future had beholden in terms of the quality of verbiage in popular music and in general lol.  But I guess I shouldn't be surprised that she's crazy/smart because she's a fucking Scorpio moon! (Just went to see her chart) That's how we roll. <3 I almost want to cry right now because I'm listening to Breakdown by Mariah Carey. I had a great affinity to this song. It totally illuminates a desire to hide one's feelings and keep them private... which is the Scorpio moon's key to depression if we do that. <3  I was also exposed to some Ella Henderson... Such a sweet girl! It's kind of funny... that I was drawn to Ella and Melanie at this time, Both very young girls who were on a singing competition show... I don't know anything about Ella Henderson's story. Did she win X Factor? Melanie SHOULD have won The Voice in 2012... but regardless. I love these girls! Awesomely strange senses of style. Amazing and unique voices. Amazing and distinct writing styles. Very insightful, deep, and Scorpio like. Exposing. Bringing darkness to the surface. I Love them. Aaah.  Music swoon season. That was what Libra moon was for me. <3 It was a long 3 days, but I suppose I needed to venture off into a musical poetic world for a few days. It was fun, but I don't think I should stay there... Shall have to wait and see what Scorpio moon has in store.
